I'm guessing you were addressing me Victim. Well, there's nothing left to say...I mean, I liked the OLD look better, and I would prefer it to be as the old one was again. If they wanted to change it, they should've changed the blue to green, that way there was no dramatic change and most people would remain happy. Here on the other hand, people are split in whether they like it or not. As Hahn has previously stated, it makes me not wanna come back =(.

-ditch the off orange/yellow color...clashes too much with the grey
-your categories strips (vbulletin CSS talk) look funkie....they appear "deeper" then the rest of the tables...they should appear bigger
-you have a lot of things going on at once...the yellow, white, grey, black, and light blue, coming at a visitor all at once can be a turn off...stick to 3 colors at most
-ditch the animated text
-your home page title meta tag is blank, so it reads "- Powered by vBulletin"
-using all flat colors is another issue...you had some nice gradients before, what happened?
-top stats should go below "whats going on"
-get rid of the light blue border and text
-good idea with flash chat integration

-also, in the top stats, the join date of newest members is in black...against a black background
-enable WYSIWYG editor
-the clock is incorrect...i double checked my zone to be USA PST, yet it reads 3 hours ahead
overall, it was a good idea, but poorly executed...you over did it with too many different colors, and forgot key gradients
edit: sorry guys, but the more i view it, the uglier it gets...i would try again with a new skin
i wouldnt tell members that...cause some will leave...as an admin, you should always be willing to accept critism from members, ESPECIALLY when it comes to a new forum style...because an ugly forum style can drive away new members...when members take the time to write out constructive critism like Hyper did, its your job to consider what they are saying, espicially when that person is a active member...not to simply say, "oh well, you dont have to go here if you dont wanna"...because in the end, many may end up doing that...thats not the attitude an admin should take...trust me, i know
the correct response would be, "Ok guys, i see what your saying....lemme see what i can fix"....you will loose respect from members if you dont listen to them
i recently redesigned my vbulletin forum, and i got a lot of good constructive critism from members...i listened, fixed it up, and now those same members really like what ive done with the site
im espicially shocked you said this after hahninator posted that

Warning flags should go off when one of your biggest contributors and most active members says the skin makes not want to come back.

Hm.. Well, it's been shown time & time again that I don't have much respect from the members to begin with, save for a select few, so that shouldn't be a problem. On top of that, this isn't my forum, I apparently don't post here at all, and when I do it's obviously for a fight, that said, I'm not the one who has any thing to do with the upgrade or the apparent 'banner contest'.
Like I said, this is the same exact thing that I had to deal with from the LPF Awards, and guess what, it was because of that 'biggest contributer & most active member'.
Someone on the staff tries to do something that was asked, neigh, begged for, and 95% of the response has been a general hate & throwing it back in their face as though they need to do it perfectly.
Do you even want me to go through Mark's thread for the LPFA?
Everything the staff has done to this forum has gotten nothing but negative & even hateful response. I'm personally tired of it.

^^true, many members did ask for a new style...but that doesnt mean that even if they dont like it, you shouldnt have to change anything
styles are very important, and need to be done with "A" quality....this, is not even "C" quality...its faaaaaar from perfect, and needs alot of work
you can do what you want, or in this case, dont do anything....but dont be surprised if you see decreased activity from those who dont like the new design

TOO MUCH CLUTTER!
I am sorry, but I despise it. It has its good points, but still needs plenty of work.

- Time (Is still three hours off)

you know there are alot of members that like it or finds it okay and jut want to change a few things... dont stereotype this..
and yes i thing hahn could have some respect for the nre layour.. takes hours of work..
instead of saying "Meh it ******* sucks" make a list of things you would like to change and we can work together
personally i like the new layout....
so vash not everybody hates it....

The main purpose of this upgrade was of course not to change the layout/style but to upgrade the software (and therefore fix security and spam issues and be able to use recent add-ons).
As to colors etc I myself am in favor of the old color scheme (and gradients) and my partner (who does most of the job on the upgrade, he registered here as alexhirurg) and I actually have had an argument on this matter. However I would like not to keep it exactly the same as it was before but pimp it at least a bit.
We are open to suggestions and will implement whatever the majority of public likes. However please be patient as we are still working on some software bugs here and there and fixing them is top priority.
Those of you who are proficient in graphics feel free to submit your vision on forums appearance in form of graphics samples (take a screenshot of various pages of forums and pimp it up according to your vision). Please start a new thread in Site Talk if you want to submit graphics (and only if nobody started such thread before you did, otherwise post in that thread).
And buttons... Well, I think they must look more like... buttons.
I will also start a few polls now to study public opinion on number of more specific matters. Please help us by participating in all of them.

To avoid turning banner contest (or any other similar contest) into a popularity one it can be done anonymously. I.e. participants submit their entries to one of the mods who is coordinating the contest and he/she publishes them under numbers without revealing the names of participants until the results of voting. And revealing the name by participant himself should disqualify him/her.

If your tired of it, start listening to the community and what they want. You get the negative comments because the staff dont listen to what we want. Sure, you guys own and run the place, but we are the ones who visit, who make the threads and discuss things, so we should be able to have input too.
We have been asking for a banner/layout design competition for ages, and we were all ignored. and its only now that we decided to run the competion ourselves, that the site got updated.

yeah, those awards are rigged.
the community has hardly any input into the awards, and it is popularity/friendships that get you the awards.
not that i care, a little award on a forum means nothing to me, i just dont like seeing people ripped off and disadvantaged.
