I like how Colorado did it.# Colorado, statewide ban went into effect July 1, 2006, making Colorado the 13th state to pass a smoking ban. Colorado's ban exempts casinos, private homes and cigar bars. A group of bar owners tried to block the ban from taking effect in July, fearing that casions would have an unfair advantage over bars. Their request for a restraining order on the ban was denied by Judge Babcock, but the group is currently proceeding with a lawsuit against the statewide ban.
* Boulder, 1995 banned indoors except for isolated rooms in bars and restaurants.
* Superior, 2000, banned smoking in bars and restaurants, including patios.
* Fort Collins, 2002, banned in workplaces including bars and near doors and windows.
* Pueblo, 2003, banned smoking in bars and restaurants.
* Greeley, 2003 banned smoking in bars and restaurants. Fort Collins and Boulder are generally regarded as "liberal" cities and Greeley was Colorado's first "conservative" city to enact the ban.
* Eagle County, 2005, voters banned smoking in bars and restaurants.
Yeah, right...that's something smokers would say to make them feel better...People that think banning smoking is a good idea are ignorant and mis-informed, its a fact that taxes collected from cigarettes save more lives then cigarettes kill.
People should not smoke in public...they can do it in their homes, on thier time. I also have asthma and I can't be around ciggerate smoke at all. If I breathe it, I get weezy almost right away. I can't stand the smell of it or anything.i agree with not smoking in public,
not only is smoking bad for your health, breating in other peoples smoke is bad for your health.
i have mild asthama, and i hate going out in public and breathing in a cloud of someone's dirty smoke, it makes it hard to breath, it stinks and its just disgusting.
if you want to smoke, do it in private, or inside your own personal plastic bubble.
Yeah' date=' right...that's something smokers would say to make them feel better...[/quote']
It's the case in countries such as the USA and UK where taxing on cigarettes is approx £3 or $3 - 4 per pack of 20 and all of this gets funed into the health service. The average 10 a day smoker would be paying $12/week in tax in addition to the tax already paid to the health service, this means $48/month which is $504/year.
With literally millions of smokers thats literally hundereds of millions of pounds per year, non the less the cost of cigarette related illnesses to the health service is less then half that then the gain and the additonal funds has helped save thousdands of lives each year. THE reasson tobascco isn't fully banned.
Of course im not saying smoking is a good thing its still in it's nature unhealthy and a dirty habbit.

Not really. Some people just need a sense of release to their tense and stressful life. It's better to relieve your inner tensions on a cigarette than cutting yourself, alcohol, hard drugs, and/or worst of all, listening to bad music.
I'm not saying cigarettes are good for you because they aren't. But if it helps people cope with their problems and continue living, by all means, I support their decision.
