This is my first story on here. Original this was going to be a side story from on-going story that I’m writing on another site, but I decide not to.

Rob and Talinda Wedding

“Here you go Talinda,” Monica said handing her, her bouquet of flowers.

“I want to thank you for being apart of my wedding Monica. I know that we haven’t gotten off on the right foot,” Talinda said

“You’re not like what I thought you would turn out to be when I first met you. That tells me that I shouldn’t judge people before I get to know them.” she said before hugging her.

When Monica let go of Talinda they both turned there heads to see Talinda’s niece Kristina walking over to them as she was holding a basket that was full of dried flower, “Ready, Aunt Talinda?” Kristina said

“Ready.” Talinda said and then she got into the line up to start the ceremony.

******

At the front of the church Rob and Brad stood next to each other near the pastor. As the music started playing the doors open revealing Talinda’s niece Kristina and she started walking down the isle tossing the flowers in the baskets on to the floor. Once Kristina reached the front of the church, the doors open again, revealing Mike and Charlotte, Talinda and Sam’s ex- high school cheerleading captain.

As the two of them walked down the isle, nine months pregnant Anna Shinoda watched her husband walk down the isle wishing that she wasn’t here and that she was already halfway to Gardena so she could have their daughter in peace. When Mike and Charlotte had reached the front of the church he stood next to Brad looking to see if his wife came to the wedding. Anna watched as Mike was looking at the people that were a part of Rob and Talinda’s wedding and she knew that he was looking for her and they made eye contact for a little while, then Anna looked back at the door as it opened again letting Dave or as he most likely like to be called Phoenix and Linsey. After Phoenix and Linsey reached the front of the church the doors opened again revealing Joe and Karen and they walked down the isle to the front of the church.

When they reached the front of the church the doors opened again and Monica came out walking down the isle to the front of the church. Then the music stopped and the wedding march began to play and everyone stood up as Talinda slowly started to walk down the isle reaching Rob.

“Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today, in the presence of ***, to witness and bless the joining of this man and this woman in holy matrimony. This is the time you have chosen to become husband and wife. We are here, not only to witness your commitment to each other, but also to wish you both every happiness in your future life together. Within its framework of commitment and loyalty marriage enables the establishment of a home, where through trust, patience and respect, the love and affection which you have for each other may develop into a deep and lasting relationship. We, who are witnessing your marriage, hope that despite the stresses inevitable in any life your Love, Respect for each other, your trust and understanding of each other will increase your contentment and heighten your joy in living.

Before you, Rob and Sandra, are joined in marriage in my presence of these your family, friends and witnesses, I am to remind you of the serious and binding nature of the relationship you are now about to enter,”

“I shall now ask you to make your marriage vows,” the pastor said “Robert Gregory Bourdon will you take Sandra Bentley to be your lawful wife, will you love her, honor and keep her in sickness and in health and forsaking all others keep only unto her so long as you both shall live,”

“I will,” Rob said.

“Sandra Talinda Bentley will you take Robert Bourdon to be your lawful husband, will you love him, honor and keep him in sickness and in health and forsaking all others keep only unto him so long as you both shall live,”

“I will,” Talinda said.

“Who has the rings?” the pastor asked and Brad and Monica put them in the pastors hand “Rob?” he said and Rob took Talinda’s ring.

“Sandra, with this ring, I thee wed.” Rob said putting the ring on to her finger.

Talinda then took Rob‘s ring from the pastor, “Rob, with this ring, I thee wed.” and she put the ring on his finger.

“As you have consented together to be bound to one another in lawful marriage. You have made special promises to each other which have been symbolized by taking of vows and by the giving and receiving of rings. By the authority vested in me, according to the laws of California I now pronounce you to be husband and wife, you may kiss the bride,” the pastor said and Rob and Talinda shared there kiss as the music started to play again and everyone that was there as apart of the wedding stood up and cheered. “I now present to you Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bourdon.” and Talinda and Rob walked out of the church and soon the wedding party followed for pictures.

Once the pictures were taken Rob and Talinda got into one of the two limos that were taken the wedding party to where the hotel was holding the reception at. As the rest of the wedding party was getting into the next limo, Anna walked by with a friend she had came to the wedding with and Mike saw her walking over to the car and went after her.

“Anna,” he said reaching up to her as she stopped walking and turned around to face him.

“What Mike?”

“Are you heading over to the reception party?” he asked his wife hoping that she would.

“I don’t know, probably,” Anna said.

“Mike! Come on we need to leave.” Brad shouted out to him.

“I got to go, I hope that you do come.” he said and leaned down to give her a light kiss on the lips but she turned her head causing him to kiss her check, then he turned around walking back over to were Brad and the rest of the wedding party was at and Anna turned around to get into the car as her friend got into the drivers side.

“Do you want to go to the reception party?” her friend asked her.

“Yea I can finish packing later the train doesn’t leave until six tomorrow night.” Anna told her and her friend drove her to the party.

******

At the reception which was located at the hotel were Rob and Talinda would stay before leaving to go on the train tomorrow that would take them to the airport and then to there honeymoon. The whole wedding party was going to be with them to watch them leaving for Hawaii, that’s where they were going for there honeymoon.

After Rob and Talinda shared they first dance as husband and wife, other couples started to go out on to the dance floor to dance and Mike come back into the room after leaving for a little while and saw that Anna was there sitting down as she had one of her hands resting on her stomach. He decided not to go and talk to her and join Brad and Monica at the other side of the room.

Chester walked into the room seeing that Talinda and Rob were close to each other and then watched as Rob’s father talked to the both of them and then saw Rob walked away and Talinda started to talk to someone else. He walked behind her when she finished talking and he taped her on the shoulder making Talinda turn around to face him.

“Sorry that I missed the ceremony,” he said to her.

“Oh!” was all that she could say since she was surprise that he showed up anyway.

“Congratulations Talinda, you deserve all the happiness with Rob,” he said “Sorry what we had went to waste, but we know it wasn’t going to last right?” and she saw that he was avoiding eye contract with her and he also seemed a little upset.

“Hey, are you okay?” she asked him.

“Yeah me? I’m great,” Chester said.

“Talinda I’m suppose to tell you it’s time to throw that bouquet, but what ever you do don’t throw it at me.” her niece Kristina said.

“Okay,” she said to Kristina and her niece walked away “I got to go.” she said to Chester.

“Go ahead.” he said and she walked away, he then saw a waiter walked by with some glass of alcohol and he picked one up.

All the girls that came to be a part of the wedding came together as Talinda got ready to toss her bouquet back.

“Okay girl you ready,” she said looking over her shoulder seeing that almost all the girls were there “1...2...3...” and she tossed the bouquet turning around to see who got it and saw that it was Karen who got it.

Now it was Rob turn to take of Talinda’s garter and she sat down on the chair that was taken out for her to sit on, then Rob kneeled down in front of her and she put her leg that had the garter on it up. Lifting back Talinda’s wedding dress, Rob reached up to her thigh pulling down the garter as some people started cheering and applauding as he took it off completely.

“It think I going to like being married,” he said causing for more people to start laughing and Talinda brought him into a light kiss before he got up, “Okay all you guys get ready.” he said turning around so that he back was facing him and then he shot it over his shoulder and he turned around seeing that Joe got it.

“Thanks Rob, now what am I suppose to do what this?” he asked and Karen came up to him.

“You suppose to put it around your arm and dance with me, that’s the tradition.” she said and that’s what he did when some music come on. They danced out of the room, literally speaking.

“Okay who gave Joe sugar?” Brad asked and the guys took off.

******

“Mike?” Anna asked walking up to him.

“Hey I was looking for you,” Mike said.

“I’m not that hard to find this days,” she said putting both her hand on her stomach.

“I’m glad that you came,” he reached out to slightly touch her hand.

“Are you okay?”

“Yea why shouldn’t I be?”

“I didn’t see you anywhere when I came,” she said.

“I was over talking to Brad and Monica,”

“You know that this is the first time in a long time that we’re actually having a decent conversation,” she said.

“I know we should really be enjoying each other time while were getting ready for our daughter birth.” he said.

Inglewood, California

A man dress in dark clothes wearing a cap walked up to Rose Lawn Sanitarium. He stop, looking around after he got over the gates and slowly walked around the building walking to some windows looking in them until he found the right window he wanted. Who he saw in the room made him smile, she was sitting on a chair, she had black hair that was down and you could see her hair was naturally curly. You could also see some of her tattoo that was on her left breast since the top she was wearing showed some of it off. By just looking at her, Hector knew that she, Samantha Bennington, would be great leverage over her husbands band Linkin Park.

Back at the reception party Talinda and Rob were just finishing cutting there wedding cake and now getting ready have each other take a bite.

“Shove it in his face Talinda.” she here someone say.

“Now I could never do that,” she said and both of them grab a piece of cake, putting it to each other months and Talinda got some into Rob’s month and then shove the rest on the side of his month as Rob had her take a bite. Every one in the room started to laugh but the two of them didn’t care and they shared a kiss.

After getting the cake off of Rob’s face and the rest of the cake was passed out now it was time for Brad to make a toast. “It’s time for the best man to make his toasted to the bride and groom” he started the toasted out, “Okay I met Rob back in high school and we including Mike become the best of friend. There’s no need to worrier Rob about me telling everyone some embarrassing story. Two of us out of the three got married leaving Rob still single. We never know Rob would find love. I’m just glad to that he had found it in his beautiful bride. So here to Rob and Talinda may you both have a life of great happiness” he said raising his wine glass and everyone raised there’s too, “To Rob and Talinda” they all say.

“Okay now these two have to leave to the suite and tomorrow they will take an antique party train to the Los Angeles Airport were they will be leaving to Hawaii” Brad also told the wedding party.

When the rest of the toasts where finished the send out where being passed out. Once everyone had a send out, Rob and Talinda had got ready to leave and they both left the reception area going up to there suite.

Wow - when I first started reading this I was thinking 'uh, here we go, someone else hasn't done their homework' but after reading on realised where you were going with the story. And wow. Talk about multi-layered! It reads like a mini tv-movie... very visual. Rob doing the garter thing... 0_0 (lucky Talinda) and Anna's pregnancy... wow... just... it has opened up a complete little world here and I'm interested to see where you take it.

I'm not sure how traditional dear Robert is in his Judaism, but I guess I never pictured him having a traditional 'catholic' wedding... so that was a nice change too! Poor Chas... oh well, I'm sure we'll have our answers as this develops. Very intriguing.

Wow... just... well done! Can't wait for more!

Chapter 2

The Later That Night

After the reception was over Anna went home and changed into more comfortably clothes. Then she finished packing the rest of her stuff since she was leaving town. As she was finishing packing up Mike came home and came into the room seeing that his wife was packing.

“Anna what’s going on, your not leaving to go to the hospital our you?” he asked.

“No Mike the baby’s fine, but you and I are a different story,” and he just stood there not knowing what to say, “I’m going to leave town,” she said.

“Your not suppose to travel,”

“I’m taking a five-hour trip on train to Gardena tomorrow. My doctor has already set me up with a hospital there. I’ll stay there until the baby’s born,”

“Why not have the baby here?” he asked her.

“I forgot a detail….I’m not coming back until I’m sure that you want to be apart of this family Mike,”

“You can’t just disappear with our child Anna,” he said.

“I’m not going to disappear, but I will tell you this that I’m going to have this child away from the madness and in a clam environment. Then I’ll decide what to do after. I don’t know if I want to come back to a husband who wants to work more than wanting to be with his family. I’m going to stay here any longer waiting for you Mike, so we can decide on visitation rights later,”

“I’m not divorcing you Anna. I’m going to stay in our child life,”

“I don’t want you to and I hope you do, so will talk to details out later,” she said then pick up her suite case and walked out of the room.

“Okay well are you at lest going to tell me the name of the hospital,” he said “Anna?” he called but she went into the guest room closing the door behind her.

******

Later that night back at Rose Lawn, Hector had gotten into the window and slowly walked up to Sam. Seeing that she was going to say something, he put one of his fingers to his lips so that she would be silent. Before he could say anything else to her, Hector heard footsteps coming so he walking into the closet staying in there until he didn’t hear anything.

When the closet door open Sam started to shake her hand on the arm rest and was about to get up thinking that it was Robert Grace, Talinda’s father, but she saw that it wasn’t. Not knowing who it was, thinking it was someone else she could see that no one else could see, she sat back down and the man put his finger to his lips again telling her not to scream.

******

The Next Day

Brad and Monica got to the train station to check out the antique train and set it up for Rob and Talinda before everyone showed up. Since his wife put a picnic basket down on the floor of the train he offered to help her unpack what was in there. As he reached down to pick it up and set it down on the seat, he realized how much it weighted.

“What do you have in here bricks?” he asked Monica when he sat it down on a seat opening it up.

“I just wanted to make sure that Rob and Talinda had the best picnic, before going off to Hawaii,” she said.

Brad saw that there was a wine bottle and picked it up, “Hey this is from our collection, Rob and Talinda don’t deserve to have our good wine,”

“Brad we have plenty more from where that came from, what’s the harm of giving one away? It’s not like you were thinking of drinking that one, when’s that last time you touched our collection?” she asked him.

“Okay,” and he sat the wine bottle back down in the picnic basket, “How has school been going for you?” he asked since they really haven’t talk about her schooling.

“Really good, I really can’t wait until I could be a doctor.” she said smiling.

“So you’re going to have fun today at the park?” Chester asked Draven as he came down the stairs.

“Yep,” Draven said walking into the living room to where his father was sitting at.

“Yep, your going to listen to Leticia, right, Draven?” he said looking at Draven

Yes,

“All right, so your going to go carousal, and then your going to go the zoo --,” he said as the phone started ringing

“Mm-hmm,”

“Then I’m going to come by as soon as I can and --,” he stopped as the phone kept ringing.

“Mm-hmm,” Draven said and since he was the closes to the portable phone that was on the coffee table he picked it up, “Hello, may I ask who calling please?” he asked as Chester shock his head on how nicely his son answered the phone.

“Hello this is Dr. Brad Kim from Rose Lawn, may I speak with Mr. Bennington please,” Dr. Kim over at Rose Lawn said looking into Samantha’s room.

“You’re my mom’s doctor aren’t you?” Chester heard Draven say that to who ever was on the other end of the line and he looked up at him when he said that about Sam’s doctor, “Is she better? Can I talk to her?”

“Draven can I talk to him please?” he asked him.

“Here’s my dad hold on,” Draven said handing the phone to him and Chester covered the speaker part, “Why don’t you go upstairs and finished getting ready,” he told him.

“Okay.” and Draven walked out of the room.

“Dr. Kim, is Sam alright?” Chester asked once Draven was out of the room.

“Unfortunately she’s taken a turn for the worst she’s very agitated and fearful,”

“Uh why, why did this happen?” he asked.

“It could be anything -- another paranoid hallucination. Sam has stopped speaking, she doesn‘t even want to leave her room,”

“You were supposed to help her,” he said.

“We need to clam Sam down. I’d like to administer anti-psychotic medication which would help her,” the doctor said.

“Absolutely not,” he said.

“I realized that both you and Sam were against any kind of drug therapy but her condition has deteriorated since then,”

“You’re not drugging her. If you give her anything stronger than aspirin I’m taking her out of there are we clear?” He asked.

“Mr. Bennington I know that this is upsetting --,”

“Are we clear?”

“We’re clear,” he said and then he hung up the phone throwing it on the other couch and then Draven coming back into the room.

“Did something bad happen to mom?” he asked.

Back at Rose Lawn Dr. Kim opened Sam’s door to check on her and saw that she was still sitting in her chair and he slowly closed the door. Once the doctor left the room, Hector was standing outside of Sam’s window and pulled out a knife to open the window. After he got it open he climbed into her room.

At the hotel Brad and Monica walked to Rob and Talinda’s suite to go and get them up. “Brad it says ‘Do not Disturber’,” she said pointing to their door.

“I know, but if they don’t get out of bed soon there going to miss the train,” he said.

“Something tells me that there not going to care,” she said as Brad got ready to knock on the door.

“Shhh,” he said looking over his shoulder.

“Okay” and Brad knocked on the door.

“Go away!” Rob’s voice said.

“Who is it?” Talinda’s voice asked.

(In a deeper voice) “Yes, ma’am, this is the hotel concierge, we have been getting complaints from the guest below, that there’s are some strange noises going on in there, furniture moving, thing’s like that,”

“Brad!” Monica said slapping him on the arm.

“Ow! Stop!” Brad said looking at his wife and turned to look at the door as it open reliving a tried Rob and Talinda.

“Very funny guys,” Rob said.

“Listen, your breakfast is getting cold, alright? You need to pack train leave 6:00, got to be onboard no later then 5:30,”

“Okay, okay we promised that we won’t be late, alright?” Talinda said.

“Yes, you know, we better get started. We have a lot to pack,” Rob said

“That’s right,”

“5:30” Brad said, as the door was closing causing both of him and Monica to laugh as they heard Talinda’s laugher on the other side of the door “Okay, put my down!” they both heard.

A really fancy hotel in Inglewood, California was holding an AIDS convention, Robin Vane stood off to the side of the stage waiting for her name to be announced so that she could give her speech.

“Our next speaker is Dr. Robin Vane of New York’s Bellevue Hospital Center.” the announcer said as she walked on to the stage shaking hands with the announcer before walking over to the podium.

“It’s gratifying to be introduced as a doctor, although that’s not way I’m not here. I’m H.I.V positive. I contracted the virus when I was 17. Legally I wasn’t even an adult, not even old enough to vote, but I was old enough to fall in love with a boy who infected me with the virus before he knew he had aids….”

“There’s no why I leaving you here to die,” Robin said.

“It doesn’t matter! I’m going to die anyway!” Chris her boyfriend cried out.

“What?” she asked softly.

“I’m H.I.V positive.”

“We know less about the virus then, less about how to treat it. I watched Chris slowly slip away and then found out that what was killing him had been passed on to me….”

“It’s not good, you’re H.I.V. positive” Robin was told by a family doctor.

“Chris was only 19 when he died -- old enough to vote, I guess, although I’m not sure he did. There are many things he never got to do,”

“He dead?” the person who took care of Chris when he was a teenager asked.

“Yeah” she said softly lifting her head that she had laid on Chris.

“He’s dead. Ok.” he said and she laid her head back down to cry.

“Chris died much to young. But the hardest part was not fear of himself, it was the fear he had for the people he left behind -- fear the he wouldn’t be able to love me, fear the he left me an outcast. But he didn’t, I have been bless with family, support, and acceptances. However, there are 12 million children in Africa who not so fortunate, and they need your help.”

******

The Bennington’s house remind quite after Chester got off the phone with Dr. Kim and Draven walked in asking his dad if something bad happen to his mom.

“No, buddy, your mom’s fine. It’s just that it’s taking a lot longer to get better than I thought,” I said.

“Why did the doctor call?” he asked.

“Because we talk ever week and he tells me how mom’s doing,”

“Okay,”

“But I don’t want you to worrier about this because your mother’s the strongest person I know and she’s going to beat this. Are you and Leticia ready to go to the park?” I said/asked him.

“Yep,”

“Then you have fun and you know to stay close to Leticia right and not to run away from her?” I asked him.

“I know.”

“Okay then go have fun.” he said as Leticia, Draven’s babysitter came out of the kitchen since she was making some snacks for her to take to the park and Chester told Leticia that after they were finished with the park, to take Draven over to Sam’s mother’s house and then they all left as Chester left heading over to the train station hoping to catch Rob and Talinda’s train that would be stopping in Inglewood before it took off.

Hey, me again.

It's reading well... but still a little disjointed. I know it's all gonna make sense later down the track, but I'm not sure where Sam fits into it, or the dude outside her window at the sanitarium... are Anna and Mike still even together? I got the impression somehow that they are estranged, even prior to the birth of their daughter.

Maybe I'm not reading closely enough, forgive me.

Anyway, we know something ominous is gonna happen (plainly due to the title) so that's promising. Loved the playful line of Brad and Monica pretending to be the hotel consierge outside the honeymoon suite, amusing stuff.

On the whole, all good so far. Interested still to see where you take this.

Thanks for sharing it with us!

It'll come together in the next couple of chapters.

Chapter 3

5:16 p.m.

The train station was not too crowded when Brad and Monica came back. Brad told Monica that he would meet her at the train. Monica saw Anna sitting on one of the benches.

“Anna?” she asked walking up to her and as Anna turned her head it caused her suite case that was next to her to fall down, she tried picking it back up but being nine months pregnant made it difficult.

“I got it” Monica said picking it up for her.

“Thanks, actually bending isn’t my best event these days, some might say other wise,” she said to her.

“You’re going on the trip?” Monica asked.

“Actually, I’m fleeing to Gardena,” Anna said, Monica stood there in shock, “I’m sure Brad’s told you that Mike and I are having troubles in our marriage, I don’t know how you do it Monica”

“What staying married to Brad?” she asked sitting down next to her, “We have our tough times as all marriages do, that’s what I attend med school for a little time away,”

“I had a good job but I had to stop working because I will be caring for this little one,” she said resting one hand on her stomach, “Even thought what I was making didn’t come close to what Mike makes, it just made be alone less hard. Our troubles didn’t started when I got pregnant. It’s been like this for years since we got married and it got worse after I got pregnant. I started realizing that being pregnant was not going to change that Mike works all the time, and it would just end up being me and our daughter,”

“I’m sorry,” Monica said.

“It’s okay; hopefully when our daughter comes things will change, that why I need to take this brake,”

“Well you know if you need any help --,”

“No, it’s just -- if you could get this suit case on that train I will own you forever,”

“You know what I could do better than that, Brad rented two private cars on the 6:00 to Inglewood which will travel all the way to Gardena, you could riding in with us,” Monica said.

“No I don’t want to --” Anna started to say but Monica interrupted her.

“Mike’s not coming, and it would be better on you, since you know all of us, you would be more comfortably than having to sit next to someone you don’t know for the whole way up.”

“Okay sure I love to.” she said and Monica helped take her suite case with her as they both walking to where to train was at.

******

Outside of the train Brad’s cell phone started to ring and he answered it when he saw that it was Mike on caller I.D.

“Hey man, what happening?” he asked Mike.

“Sorry that I can’t come with you guys, I’m going to try and catch Anna before her train leaves, have you or Monica seen her?” Mike asked.

“Yea Monica saw her sitting down and she went to talk to her, there still talking right now.”

“Thanks Brad.” before Brad could say anything else Mike hung up.

******

Dr. Kim was making his rounds, checking off his list as walked the hall pasting Samantha Bennington’s room. Hector was just finishing crawling through the window. Hector stopped for a look.

“Hello, Mrs. Bennington or may I call you Sam?” he said “You see I know your husband and his little band, they thought that they could fight Warner Bros and move to there own record company, but you see that’s not going to happen…,” he walked behind her chair leaning closer to her “Chester going to died, Mike going to died. Actually the whole band is going too died. And you my dear…,” he said grabbing some of her hair pulling her head back “Are going to help me make this happen, right?” he asked her and she tighten her hand up.

Back at the hotel Robin Vane was finishing up her speech. “How can anyone save the 12 million children who have been orphaned or displaced by the aids pandemic. Maybe you have to be a child to believe it’s even possible. To save your lunch money, to save even $2 or $5 dollars and think that you could change anything. But an 11 year named Hallie made a difference, and you can, too. It’s hard to put a face on 12 million people, but you can think of one little girl, and find a way too help. Thank you.” Robin said finishing her speech and the people that where there listening clapped as she walked off the stage finding a guy standing off to the side of the stage.

“Dr. Vane I’m here to take you back to the airport,” the guy said.

“Do you think you could take me to the train station, I have some family here in Los Angeles that I would like to see.” Robin said.

“Sure thing Dr. Vane.” and they both walked out of the hotel.

******

Anna was sitting on the train with Monica when she heard her name being called, she didn’t turn around because she knew the sound of the voice and it belonged to Mike.

“Anna?” she heard again and she still didn’t turn around, she kept looking forward at Monica who was just as shocked as she was.

“Monica I thought you told me he wasn’t coming,” Anna hissed at her.

Monica replied, “He wasn’t, just see what he wants, Anna,”

Mike walked up to her and said, “Anna please just let me talk to you,”

“Fine you got five minutes” she said looking at him.

“I don’t know what to say to you that would chance your mind about leaving, but I know one thing and that is that I don’t want you to leave, and if you’re going to leave I’m going with you”

“How are you going to work if you come with me?” she asked him.

“Anna…please don’t start about that…I’m going with you because I’m not missing out the birth of our daughter and if you have a problem with that, then that’s to bad” he said and then got up walking to the other side of the train to sit down.

“Oh ****!” Anna let out sliding downward in the chair to rest her head.

5:24 p.m.

Before Talinda and Rob boarded the train they both sat on the bench with Rob’s mom, while Talinda was holding there four month old baby. Rob had recently signed adoption papers to making him the legal father of Talinda and Matthew’s child, Matthew Bentley now know as Matthew Bourdon. While both Rob and Talinda were on there honeymoon, Rob’s mom was taking care of there son till they got back.

“Daddy” says Talinda, “Someone wants you to hold them,” handing Matthew over to Rob.

“Oh look at that, you both look so cute together” Rob’s mom pinched his cheek.

“Mom, ****, please give me some space,” Rob said quietly.

“Are you sure you don’t mind watching Matthew?” Talinda asked Rob’s mother.

“Oh no! You both deserved to enjoy your honeymoon,” she said as Rob carefully handed Matthew back to Talinda so she could put him in his car seat. Rob got up and kneeled in front of Matthew.

“Don’t cry too much for Grandma and I’ll make sure to bring you lots of presents back,” he said kissing the top of the baby’s head.

“Oh Rob don’t go spoiling the kid to much,” His mother said.

“I wont,” he said “We better get going.” he stood up helping Talinda up they both watched Rob’s mom carry Matthew way.

On the train Phoenix and Linsey walked in, seeing that Mike was sitting by himself away from Anna. Brad and Monica were sitting next to each other with Anna. When Brad and Monica noticed Phoenix and Linsey boarding the train, Monica stood up and walked over to Linsey.

“Hi, uh, were having a little bit of a seating problem,” Monica said to them.

“I thought Mike wasn’t coming?” Phoenix asked Monica.

“He wasn’t, he was going to go on Anna’s original train but I offered her to ride with us not knowing that Mike was going to follow her, so thing may be a little tense.” she said laughing slightly.

“This is going to be interesting.” Linsey said to her husband.

Robin Vane took a seat in front of a girl who looked 18 years old “Hi I’m Robin,” she said extending her hand and the girl seemed surprise at first but then shook her hand.

“I’m Jennifer, but you could call me Jen,” she said.

“You like Linkin Park?” Robin asked Jen seeing that she had one of there CD case out on the empty chair next to her.

“Yea there my favorite band, what about you? Do you like them?” Jen asked.

Hector stood in the engineer’s station looking at all the buttons, when the engineer came in “Hey, what are you doing?” the engineer asked.

“Oh, I was just admiring your train, how fast does it go?” he asked.

“This is a restricted area you’re going to have to leave,”

“Oh, okay I was just asking,” Hector said a walked away.

The engineer sat down when the controller started speaking “Commuter 574 on schedule?”

“Control, this is Commuter 574. We are prepared to leave Inglewood Station on time,”

“574, you’re schedule to arrived to the Glencoe Tunnel at 7:20,”

“And what about the southbound from Central Los Angeles?”

“Train 912 southbound from Central Los Angeles will clear the tunnel at 7:00, weather conditions are good your clear to processed at full speed.” as the conversation was going on Hector stood near the door listening.

“Are you getting off on the next or the final stop?” Jen asked Robin.

“I’m going all the way to the finial stop, I have family in Los Angeles so I’m going to visit them,” she said.

“So I take that you’re not from here?”

“Nope, I’m from New York, I came down for an aids convention,”

“What do you do?” Jen asked her.

“I’m a doctor. I work with children that are infected by aids. I work with patience as young as a newborn up to 18 year old.” Robin said then they both felt the train jerk a little as started to move.

On the antique train Talinda and Rob’s wedding party were all there, Talinda and Rob were now aboard the train, sitting together as Monica sat across.

“Here’s to your honeymoon,” Monica said.

“No, here’s to friend’s that made this all happen,” Rob said.

“Right,” Talinda said.

“Brad’s the one who thought off taking the train to the airport,” Monica said.

“Well you helped to,” Talinda said.

“Anna I’m sure once your guy’s kid is born Mike will realizes what he been missing,” Brad said to Anna.

“I wouldn’t be to sure about that; he’ll end up bearing himself deeper into his work, if that’s possible,”

“Come on Anna don’t do this to you and your baby, you know that Mike can’t be there all the time, he happens to like what he doing,”

“Well frankly I don’t care, I never realized how much I do need him or maybe my emotions are getting the best of me because I’m just too hormonal,” she said looking behind her to see Mike sitting with Joe and Karen as Chester walked onto the train, “I thought Chester wasn’t coming either?” Anna asked Brad.

“I didn’t know he was,” he said as his wife got up and walked over to Chester.

“Hey is everything alright?” Monica asked him.

“Yeah, I’m going to go to….I’m going to Rose Lawn to talk to Sam’s doctor. They want to drug her and I told them not to,”

“Oh,”

“But I don’t know if that’s just….what I want and what’s best for her. You know what am saying,”

“Mm-hmm,” she said shaking her head.

“Hey Monica, I’m sorry, but could you take a picture of us right now?” Rob said holding out a camera.

“Go ahead I don’t want to end up dumping my problem on you, I got till Inglewood to decide what to do with Sam.” Chester said.

“Okay,” and Monica turned around to take the camera “Okay guys ready,” she said “1...2...,” she started to count and the train took off causing her to trip a little.

Chapter 4

Finally the title comes to what the story is all about....

6:51 p.m.

After Monica took the picture for Rob and Talinda she gave the camera back to them and walked up to Chester again.

“Would you like to talk about Sam with me? Maybe I could help you make a decision from a medical stand point since I’m a med student,” she said.

“Sure that would help,” he said and she look back at Brad giving him a look to let him know that she was going to talk to Chester alone, Brad shock his head letting her know it was okay and they both walk on to the second car. When they got to the second car Monica sat down as Chester stood up and told her everything that was going on with Sam up until now.

“I don’t know what I want for Sam, Monica, I fill like I’m afraid that her doctor will abused it on her, because I’m scared of what happen to me will happen to Sam,”

“I don’t believe that her doctor would do that. I do understand you’re concerned about it I would to if I were in your place,”

“When Sam agreed to go to Rose Lawn I was against the drug therapy, and I know that Sam doesn’t want to be drug either. What do you think I should do?”

“Maybe you should just wait it out, and if she get worse than she already is then I say let the doctor’s give her the medicine. An anti-psychotic medication would be the best solution for someone in her condition,” she told him.

“Thank Monica, I think that I want to wait it out, like you say, it may be that best for Sam after all.” and then they both walked back to where everyone was at, as Joe and Karen walked into the second chart.

On the commuter train the engineer sat in the engineer’s station when Hector came back in slowly taking out his gun that he had in his jacket and put it to the engineer’s head, pulling the trigger killing the engineer instantly. Once the engineer was down Hector grab the throttle of the train and pushed it all the way up.

Back at where Robin and Jen sat at, she and Robin were talking like they were old friends, when Hector walked down the aisle to where the exit was at and Jen looked at Robin wanting to say something to her.

“Does that guy freak you out?” Jen asked her.

“Yea he does, do you think he’s really supposed to be on this train?” Robin said as the whole train jerked a little and started to go really fast.

“I don’t know, what back here anyways?” she asked.

“I think that it’s the engineer station,” Robin then looked at her, “Do you fill like this train is going really fast?” she asked Jen.

“Yea I do.” then they both got up and walked to the engineer station.

6:57 p.m.

“Jack, do you read me? For *** sake answer!” was what Robin and Jen heard coming out of the controller speaker. As soon as Robin saw that the engineer leaning against the wall she walked up to his and tapped him on the shoulder think that he was a sleep. When he didn’t wake up she checked for his pulse on his neck “He’s dead,” she said.

“We need to pull the throttle back,” Jen said and Robin went to do just that.

“It’s stuck,” she said.

“Here moving him, moving him.” Jen said to her since the engineers hand was still around the throttle stick. Once Robin moving his hand they both grab the stick and tried to pull it back but it just wouldn’t move.

“Jack, Jack you heading right towards another train.” the controller said.

When Robin and Jen saw a bright light and a horn honking, they both screamed and quickly letting go of the throttle and ran to where the passengers were at so that at lest they won’t dead on impact.

As the two trains collide everyone screamed on both train as everyone was tossed around. Jen and Robin tried to hold on to the chairs of the train but were thrown to the back as the impact hit hard. On the other train Mike came quickly a possible over to Anna as she was jerk from her chair and he covered himself over her to protecting her and the baby from any fly object. Talinda was also jerk from her seat sending her fly to the other seat as she hit she right side real hard and then landed on the ground as Rob come down on top of her. The second car had Joe and Karen who were dancing that the time of the impact and they were tossed around as the train flipped over one time landing on it side. All the other passengers held on to the chair for dear life but they to were jerked out of there seats.

After the crash the commuter train had all there passengers laying all over the place and Jen lifted her head coughing from all the smoke.

“Robin!” she called out “Robin!” she called out again.

“I’m over here,” Robin called out “Oh! My legs our pinned,” she said as Jen grabbed the seat that had Robin’s leg pinned to help herself slowly get up.

“All right, all right,” Jen said.

“You okay?” Robin asked her.

“Yeah,”

“I’ll go to see if I could find us some help, just lie there, help!” a male passenger said walking over other passenger’s bodies and walking over a women who was sprawl out in the corner and her wallet was open reliving her California ID card and the name on it belong to Samantha Bennington.

On the antique carts Chester took his jacket off and stood up on a knock over chair, he then put the jacket over the elbow hitting that glass window of the train breaking it. Once he got it broken and broke all of glass off, he set he jacket on the edge window and slowly climbed out looking and just saw smoke everywhere.

“How bad is it Chester?” he heard Brad ask.

“It looks real bad there’s a wall of rocks that caved the cutting us off from the second car,” he said “Anybody hurt badly?” he asked Brad.

“Is anybody hurt badly?” he heard Brad ask down in the train and he got responds back.

“No body hurt badly,” Brad called back out.

“Okay I’m going leave my jack here, you let Monica climb out and then get Anna over here with Mike, you both help get her out and Monica and I will help her slide off the train. Then Mike can come out and so on okay?”

“Got it,”

Chester saw a pair of hand grab the edge of the window and out came Monica as she lifted her one of her legs up then the other and then she sat next to the open window.

“Okay Anna I want you to face Mike and Brad and have them lift you up so that your back is facing me and Monica, then we want you reach your arms out so that we could grabbed them and will pull you out. Mike I need you to stand on the chair and help hold Anna up as we lift her all the way out,” Chester told the three of them down threw the window. They did just that and they got Anna out threw the window and she sat on the side of the window as she turned her whole body. Monica got down to the next ledge and slid down the rest of the train down to the ground and waited as Chester and Anna slowly started to slid to the ledge and Mike got thought the window and got on to the ledge with them taking his wife’s hand into his. Then Chester got on to a rock the made him a little higher off the ground, grabbing Anna.

“I got, I got, just take it easy,” he said to her as he helped her slide off the train and into Monica’s arms who helped her to the ground.

“Okay. What happen?” Anna asked as Chester got off the rock and Mike slide the rested of the way off.

“We must of hit something in the tunnel,” Chester told her as Brad come down to the side of the train and on to the ground and then Chester saw Talinda coming out of the window, “Talinda wait, I’m going to get Anna settle and then will help you down,” he said to her “Mike? You alright?” he asked him.

“Anna? Yeah. Are you alright?”

“I think so,” she said as Monica helping her walk over to some rocks and had her sit down on it.

Then Chester turned around and saw Talinda slowly come down to the ledge, “Talinda let me help you,” he said walking over to her grabbing her hand.

“I guess I’m not as strong as I thought,” she said as Chester held on to her left side and helped her on to the rock, “Oh!” she let out and went to grab her right side.

“What wrong?” he asked.

“Oh!”

“Huh?”

“I guess I just bruised my side or something,” she said as she got down on to the floor.

“Are you sure?” he asked her walking her over to other rocks that were across from Anna.

“Yeah, it alright” she said.

“Okay you’re just okay to sit down here okay?” he told her making her sitting down on a rock, “Where’s Rob at?” he asked her.

“He’s still inside helping Phoenix and Linsey find a better way out then threw the window.” she said.

******

On the wall side of the caved in wall, Karen come to Joe’s side as she found him laying on the ground outside of the train.

“Joe are you okay?” she said touching his back when he didn’t say anything she quickly touch him over so that he was laying on his back and she looked at him to see if anything was wrong, when she saw his lower abdomen and grasped at what she saw, he had a piece of sharp mental sticking out of him. “Oh my ***, help him. Help! I need help! Somebody help me! Help me please!” she cried out.

Inside the train Rob, Phoenix and Linsey made it to the other car seeing that it wasn’t blocked at all and they where moving things that were lying on luckily nothing was to heavy and then they heard Karen’s cries for help and Rob called out to her.

“Can anybody hear me?”

“Karen is that you?”

“Rob I’m over here, Joe‘s hurt, he‘s bleeding,” she cried out.

“Okay hold on will find you.” he said as him and Phoenix saw a door that was blocked by some furniture that was on the train.

“That’s the best way out.” Phoenix said.

“Rob heard me. He’s on his way out and he’s going to help you okay.” she told Joe who was on unconscious and she tried comforting him by running her finger through his hair.

******

Back on the commuter train Sam still laid unconscious as more people coughed and called other loved ones. Jen stayed close to Robin cause she didn’t want to leave a friend that she had and wanted to help her out.

“Somebody please, someone needs help,” she said as she carefully walk down the now small isle and then walked back to Robin and kneeled down next to her for a bit “Robin I don’t think one’s going to help so I’ll try to help you out and I need you to help push with me okay,”

“Jen it’s not going to work.” Robin said.

“Will just try it okay?” and Jen moving in front of the chair and grabbed a hold of the top and tried pulling it off of Robin as she pushing on the chair, it didn’t move at all and they tried again and it still didn’t work.

“Ma’am let me help.” a man said to Jen who come from the outside to see if anyone need help and together all three of them tried get the chair off of Robin. In the corner where Sam was at she slowly reached her hand up to the top of the chair and started to bring herself up.

Where the antique trains were at Chester stood up on the rock he and Talinda come down on to see down the rest of the tunnel.

“It looks like the tunnel’s block in both directions. The rescue team is going to have to dig through, it going to take awhile.” Chester said looking to where Anna and Mike where at.

Anna stayed sitting on the rock that Monica made her sit down on, she tried her hardest not say anything as a contraction hit her and she tried making herself think that this was just Braxton-Hicks contractions, false labor contraction, because her water hadn’t broke yet. Mike saw that Anna was holding her stomach and sat next to her on the rock she was sitting on.

“Are you sure you’re alright still?” he asked her.

“I think the baby’s okay. Throwing yourself on top of me was a nice touch,”

“Yeah, I’m a heroic kind of guys, you know.” he said trying to make light of the situation they were in.

“Yeah, I’ve always suspected.”

Brad and Monica where over with Talinda as Chester come off the rock and over them. “If we have to wait lets selvage what we can from the wreck,” Monica said.

“What do you need?” Chester asked her.

“Uh, bottle water, coast, blankets, see if you can find a medical knit, any kind of medical supplies.” she told him.

“I’ll go with you.” Talinda said getting up but Brad and Chester stopped her.

“No Talinda you need to stay here, just let yourself rest, wait for Rob, I’ll go with Chester.” Brad said and Talinda sat back down as Brad went with Chester.

Once that was moved they now could be able to get threw the door and Phoenix helped Linsey get over the table that was in front of her. Rob opened to door getting out and then Phoenix and Linsey did and they all quickly walked over to Karen seeing the Joe was lying on the floor.

“Can we try and take the piece of metal out of him?” Phoenix asked.

“No, if we try he could bleed to death,” Karen said.

“What could we do to try and help him?” Rob asked.

“Try and get him out of the tunnel,”

“We can try,” Phoenix said.

“The tunnels must be block or else the rescue team would be here by now,” Linsey said.

“If we don’t get help his going to died!” Karen cried out.

“Karen its okay, you have to stay clam,” Rob said to her and Joe started to wake up, lifting his head a little.

“Karen?” he cried out, but it came out really softly since he was in a lot of pain as he was trying to wake up.

“Joe laid your head back. Keep it down,” she said holding his head “Okay. It’s all right,”

“Don’t -- Don’t be scared.” his voice said a little louder.

“Let me get the other and will see what we can do,” Rob said to Karen “Phoenix do you think that the others are on the other side of that wall?” he asked him.

“Yeah, it looks like its block from where we come from. There all out of the train cause they were helping Anna out. We can call to see if they can hear us.” Phoenix said.

“Talinda? Talinda?” Rob yelled out.

On the other side of the wall Talinda still sat on the rock as she watched Monica kneel in front of Anna to check on her, when she heard her name been called.

“Talinda?”

Looking behind her she saw the wall of rocks and knew that Rob got to the other side “Rob?”

“Are you okay?” he yelled through the wall of rocks.

“Yeah, I’m fine are you?” she yelled back.

“Yeah. Have any rescues teams come back yet?” he asked yelling.

“Not yet.”

“Joe -- Joe’s hurt,” he yelled at Talinda as she looked back at Monica, Anna and Mike and saw that Chester and Brad came back with water bottles, blankets and a medical kits, she then saw Monica get up and walk over to her.

“Rob, what kind of injure?” Monica yelled.

“He’s bleeding,”

“We -- we have medical supplies, I’ve got bandages,” she yell to him and looked at Chester and Brad.

The other side of the wall Rob singled for Phoenix to come over and help him start moving the rocks.

“Hey, Rob me and Brad are going to try and dig on this side okay?” Chester yelled to him.

“Will try digging on this side,” he heard Rob say and him, Brad, Mike, Monica and Talinda started to move the rocks as Rob and Phoenix move some on there side. Talinda stopped as her side started to hurt again and she walked over to the train tracks and sat down on them holding her side as she did.

“A lot of passengers are milling around outside, alright? I think that were the only ones left inside,” Patrick said coming back over to them.

“Where are the rescue teams?” Jen asked.

“Look, the south entrance is block nobody can go through,”

“What about the north entrance?”

“I don’t know okay, it‘s chaos out there,”

“You don’t know -- ok then I’m going to go and check it out then,” Jen said getting up and walked toward the exit.

“Ma’am you have to get pass both trains and a bunch of spilled fuel, ok. This whole place could blow at any second,”

“Then I guess I better hurry, huh?” she said getting up set that no help was coming.

“You can’t go out there by yourself.”

“Jen, I agree don’t do it.” Robin said.

“Okay, then if either one of you have a better ideal, I love to hear it, but right now we need to get you out of here.” Jen said kneeling next to her.

At the triage center just outside of the tunnel, paramedics, fire fighters, and police officers work as best as they could to get into the tunnel. Anyone that was taken out to the train crash was immediately checked out by paramedics or medical assistances. Only the real critically injured where taken to one of the hospitals that were in emergency mode. Two tunnel workers and a fire fighter chief got together to talk.

“The south side tunnel is collapsed. The north side, Vernon side, is block by wrecked. There may be partial collapses deeper in on the north side. Were clearing out the south side first and will send in search and rescued teams as soon as possible,” one of the tunnel workers said.

“How many people are trapped?” the fire fighter chief asked.

“At lest 70 maybe, word has been conformed that a band was travel on three antique cars and some sort of wedding party near the front southbound train. Now, those cars may have taken on the most damage,”

“So our worst injuries are the deepest in the tunnel?” the fire fighter chief asked.

“That is correct, we’ll take them out through the south side entrance.”

“What about the ventilation shaft? They’re all over the mountains. Some might even lead us to the center of the tunnel.” the second tunnel work said.

“Is anyone else on the train?” Patrick on the commuter train called out as he walked the aisle, “Does anybody else need help?” he asked calling out as he walked by where Sam was in the corner still trying to wake up from being thrown from her chair real hard, “Hello! Can anybody here me. Does anybody need any help? Hello!” he called out again as Sam sat up a little moving her hat from her face, “Can anyone here me. Hello!”

When Sam moved her hat from her face, at first she was confused as to were she was at but then she remember that she was on a train trying to get to Chester to tell him that someone was threatening him and the band, but then there was a train crash and how there was no way to get to Chester. She looked down and saw that her wallet was opened and lying on the floor as she picked it up looking to see if anything was missing, then she quickly moved further back into the corner when Patrick walked back over to Robin and Jen.

“Ok, where are the rescued teams?” Jen asked grabbing Patrick’s arm pulling him down so that the smoke in the air wouldn’t effected there vision.

“Look they’ll find us, okay?”

“Jen, look why don’t we try to take this chair off of me again,” Robin said.

“The first time it didn’t work, so it not going to work this time okay,” Jen said.

“Just give it a try again,” Robin said.

“We could try but it may not work,” Patrick said “Jen why don’t you help Robin push it up and I’ll pull on it from the front, okay?”

“Okay,” Jen said going right next to Robin was at.

“All right on three…”

Outside of the commuter train, Hector was sitting up against the train. He was out of it from the train crash, which he caused and quickly woke up shaking his head, moving some rocks that were around him. Then he tried to get up but quickly sat back down and he then leaned his arm against the train to help him get up. He looked down at himself and brushed the dirt off of him. Then he looked around at the wreckage and started to laugh at what he did.

Back on the train Patrick, Jen and Robin pushed the chair and to there surprise it came up, “Robin are you okay?” Jen asked her once the chair was off and Robin lifted her body a little bit.

“There are no cuts on me, is there?” she asked.

“No, why?” Jen asked.

“Never mind.” she asked.

In the corner Sam was still sitting there to scared to move thinking that the people a couple chairs in front of her would come and hurt her if she let herself be noticed.

“The tunnel collapsed from inside, why would anyone considered going through a ventilation shaft?” the first tunnel worker asked.

“What if the tunnel hasn’t collapses yet, sir?” the second tunnel work said.

“Can you get us there?” the fire fighter captain said.

“Even if the shaft is cleared, it’s going to take time to evacuated people. We’ll clear out the south entrance and take it from there.”

After getting the wall of rocks moved Chester, Brad, Mike, and Monica who had the medical kit, walked through.

“Is Joe alright?” Chester asked and Monica walked over to Joe kneel down next to him and Rob walked through that open of the wall and went to go see his wife, who stood when she saw him and he walked over to her and brought her into his arm to hug her not knowing about her bruise side.

“Oh!” she let out the instance his arms went around her which made him let go quickly.

“Are you okay, babe?” he asked looked at her as she moving her right arm to hold her side just right under her breast.

“Yeah I banged up my side a little bit,” she said.

“Okay, you just need to sit down and rest here, okay.” he said helping her sit down on a rock.

“Yeah, sounds good.” she said.

Over were Phoenix, Linsey, Brad, Chester, and Mike were at Monica quickly opened the medical kit and pulled out the stuff she know that she need.

“I can’t apply any pressure, we need to keep him warm and -- and water, I need water. The more fluids, the better. I‘m going to bandage it.” she said not looking up as she tore open a package of gauges as Brad and Karen put a blanket on his legs.

Then Brad got and turned around to look at Phoenix and Linsey, “I got to do something he’s getting worse here,” and he turned around walking and walk over to Chester as Anna walked into where they were all at, “Chester -- listen sorry we got to fine a way out of here,”

“Brad, I’ll go,” Phoenix said and Brad looked at him.

“Guys, the tunnels are block with a wrecked train and falling rock. The whole thing is going to collapse on us. I think it‘s just safer if we all stay here,” Anna said flinching every time the wires sparked.

“If we don’t find help for Joe right now he’s going to died,” Brad said.

“It would be safer if I went,” Phoenix said.

“Yeah, Brad I need your help” Monica said looking up at him.

“Let him go Brad…” Anna pointing Phoenix, “Just be carefully we really don’t want any band member to really died.” she said.

“All right, go, you go” he said and Phoenix turned around to face Linsey.

“Just promise me you’ll be carefully,” she said

“I will, you try and stay clam why I’m gone.”

“Be safe, I promise I’ll be hear when you get back.” she said and then he walked away.

Through out the tunnel there was a low rumble going on that no one heard just yet. That meant only one thing, and one thing only there was going to be a cave in.

Down on the ground with Joe and Karen, Monica did as best as she could to hold the bleeding for right now hoping that rescue teams would come soon. She then got up and walked over to were Brad was at, as the other’s were sitting down on some rocks that was on the other side and she watched Joe and Karen knowing that there was nothing more she could do.

“I’ll go get you another blanket, okay,” Karen said pulling the blanket all the way on Joe who was now shivering.

“Don’t go. Just seeing your beautiful face is better than any blanket.” he said to her.

“Why is Joe shivering like that?” Brad asked his wife softly.

“He’s hemorrhaging internally.” she said to him and Brad looked at her knowing that it was really bad.

“I can‘t believe you let Phoenix be the one to go for help,” Talinda said to Rob as they were sitting next to each other on a rock. Mike was helping Linsey sitting down on another rock.

“I wanted to be with you, to make sure that your really okay.” Rob said to her.

“I’m fine.” she said.

Mike walked over to Anna and kneeled down in front of her, “Doing okay?” he asked her.

“Seeing Rob and Talinda makes me fell guilty about us,” she said pointing over to them.

“Why?”

“It makes me wish that we weren’t fighting,” she said.

“Well were not, grudges and arguments seem kind of petty giving under the circumstances don‘t you think?”

“If that’s the case then maybe we have a chance,”

“You’re serious about that?” he asked.

“Yeah, that mean one of us has to make the first move and you know how stubborn we are,” she said.

“Yeah” he laughing a little, then he heard her grasp lightly, “What wrong? What is it the baby?” he asked.

“My water broke. The baby’s coming.” she said.

“You got 70 people in there?” The Los Angeles Police Commissioner asked the fire fighter chief as he came into the triage area.

“That’s are best guest”

“One of them is my daughter” he said.

“We’re working as fast as we can” the fire fighter chief said.

“I called all my people up. Were do you need us?”

“Coordinate the evacuation. Keep the passengers away from the train. Organizes the volunteer. Will do are best to get your daughter and the rest of the people out.” the fire fighter said and he walked back to the tunnel.

“All right” he said and turned to one of his officers that was with him, stopping him as he was going to go walk to the tunnel, “Listen, I’ll run the show from here, you go in and fine my daughter from me” he went and pulled out of picture from him to see, “This is my daughter, Jennifer Pacheco, all right? She in there. She got priority. Now get her out.”

******

Back to where Anna and Mike were at, he helped her sit down on a blanket that was on the floor. She leaned back against the rock that she was previously sitting on as Mike grabbed another blanket, opening it up all the way and covered her legs with it.

“Now that my water broke how long before the baby’s at risk?” she asked him.

“Okay, we got time. The baby can survive a full eight hours after the mother’s water brakes,”

“Do you know that or you just hoping?” she asked looking at him.

“I have read a lot of expecting father book, okay, and I did some research online,”

“I’ve some research, too. It just something about having contractions in a train tunnel that makes it difficult for me to recall!” she said as there was a contraction.

Monica run over to them kneeling in front of her “Anna --”

“Oh, this just sucks,” Anna said as she was in the middle of the contraction.

“Anna, just keep breathing,” Monica told her.

“Ugh,” she let out when the contractions stop and lean back against the rock.

“Keep breathing,” Monica said when she clamed down.

“Whew!”

“**** it!” Monica said under her breath as she stood up.

“I just want to have this baby in a nice hospital, in a private room that my insurances pay for. Just me and the baby and a nice staff full of sympathetic professionals,”

“Yeah? Well what about the father? Does the insurance cover that?” Mike asked.

“I was going to call you after --”

“Mike, can you go get some more water? I’m sure that Anna is thirsty. You know? Thanks,” Monica said to him wanting him to go so that they didn’t start fighting. He got up to get some as Monica kneel next to her taking her wrist in her hand felling her pulse as she looked at her watch.

“You did that on purpose,” Anna told her.

“You mean you’re not thirsty?” Monica said still checking her pulse.

“Thirst is not what I’m cornered about right now. I have the abject terror of the well-being of my baby. That’s taking a higher priority.”

“You okay, Mike?” Rob asked as he was grabbed a bag that Brad and Chester salvage from the wreck.

“Well, unless help arrives real soon, my child’s going to be born in a collapse train tunnel,” he said opening the bag as Talinda and Linsey watched him seeing that he was really scared.

“Children have been born is worst places and survived it, Mike,” Rob said.

“Thanks Rob,” he said not meaning for it to come out sound like he was mad at that information as he turned around to go and set the bag down.

“If not trying to **** you off, I’m just telling you the truth, your baby out risk, Anna’s at risk, you got to get them through it,”

Mike then turned back around to look at Rob “What the **** do you think I’m doing, Rob?”

“I think you got them dead or buried in your head, in your imagination, and if you keep dwelling on it you’re going to make it happen,”

“Okay, you know what? Anna was real close to her due date. Her water has already broken. My child and she are already at risk. Well, she trapped, I mean, how much worst can I get?” he asked throwing the bag that he had in his hand at the train.

“Don’t expect them to die! Expect them to live!” Rob said yelling at him get up and in front of him as Brad walked up to the opening in the wall of rocks since he was staying with Joe and Karen, seeing what the yelling was all about, “You got to convince yourself that’s going to happen. You got to convince Anna that’s going to happen. I don’t care what’s going on between the both of you. You are her child’s father”

“Why did I have to pick you to be my best friend?”

“Why? Because I have to help you through **** like this” Rob said and he turned around going back over to Talinda as Mike turned around looking at the train trying to cool himself down. Brad walked over to Monica and Anna to see how Anna was doing.

“Hey, how are you doing here?” he asked kneeling in front of her.

“Don’t ask,”

“Okay. How can I help?”

“I want you to get Mike for me with trying to get yelled at,” Anna said.

“Anna --?” he surprise that she want to talk to him right now after what just happen.

“Go get Mike, Brad,” Monica said and he got up, “Just try to stay clam, Anna,” she said seeing that she was getting a little work up.

“That’s easy from you to say you not the one who having a baby in a train tunnel,”

“You wanted to see me?” Mike asked walking up to her as Brad and Chester came up with him.

“Who is are daughter’s guardians?” she asked.

“What are you talking about?”

“If we both died after are daughter is born who gets to raise her? You wrote it down like I told you to, didn’t you? Or were you to busy working that you forgot?”

“Yeah, I wrote it down…it’s Brad and Monica,”

“Oh that’s just great because there both here,”

“No one’s going to died so what are we talking about?” Mike asked.

“Think of somebody else, who else is it going to be? In case you forgot the rest of the band is also trapped in this pit!”

“Anna you need to breathe, just breath,” Monica said.

“Who is it Mike? Name one of your relatives,”

“My parents,”

“Okay, thank you. You can go now” Anna said, he turned around and started to walk up to were he previously was at, “No don’t. Stay! Freeze! Nobody goes anywhere, do you hear? Nobody dies. Nobody dies!” she said changing her mind about Mike leaving.

“Anna, our daughter is going to be raised by the both us. Were all going to get out of here, you, me, the baby. Everything is going to be fine, but you have do your part and breath.” Mike said when he turned around going back to her.

All Anna did was look at Mike and blow some air out of her mouth.

Over to where the commuter train was at, Sam still sat in the corner and she moved a little to see if those people were still there. When she didn’t hear anything for a little bit she was going to get up but Jen come back into the train and Sam sat back down as Jen went over to Robin who was sitting up next to Patrick.

“All right, there’s a -- there’s a hole cut into a rock above us. It’s got metal handles drilled like a ladder. I think that we could make it to the bottom rung” Jen said kneeling down, “Do you think you could stand?”

“Yeah,” she said trying to stand up but ended up sitting back down.

“Here let me help you.” Patrick said to her pick her up in like a bridal style and followed Jen out as she walked through the exit that was next to the engineer’s station. When they walked out Sam slowly crawled on floor coming out of the corner.

Outside, Patrick who was carry Robin followed Jen and he stopped and sat her down on the ground as Jen went to check out the hole, stopped when some sparks flew, she then continued walking around the train all the way to the other side and started to climb the ladder that was on the side of the train so she could get to the hole. Down on the ground Hector, was standing in the back door of the train.

While Jen reached the top of the ladder she turned to her side and saw the ladder that was coming out of the hole. Hector slowly peeked out of back train door looking up at Jen to see if she was looking down at him, but she wasn’t since she was reaching for the ladder, then he walked out and was about to go when he saw a man and a woman sitting on the ground next to the train, he stopped and went back to the back of the train. Jen grabbed the upper ladder, turning all the way around and started to pull her self up.

The police commissioner was talking to some people that radioed him to see if any one was working on the north end as he saw there was someone who looked like they weren’t apart of the train crash so he walk up him.

“What are you doing here this area is for a emergency personal only,” he said

“I’m here to leaned a hand,”

“Are you the police commissioner?” a tunnel worker said coming up to him.

“Yes what do you need?” he asked

“I’ve been working this line for 20 years, ok? And if they keep digging around that south entrance this whole place is going. The Glencoe Tunnel is in bad shape.” the tunnel worker said.

“Look, I’m sure those people know what there doing.” he said.

“What if they don’t, commissioner? If the rescues workers trigger a cave in everyone in that tunnel will be buried alive” the helper said.

Back over to where Linkin Park was at, Anna had finally clam down from freaking out and had Mike sitting with her. Monica was over checking Talinda’s side out since she started complain about it hurting her again and Rob insisted that Monica check it out so that nothing was seriously wrong.

“It hurt here?” Monica asked her touch the buries lightly.

“Ow -- yeah,”

“All right, It looks like a bad buries, but it could be evidences of a internal injure,” Monica said.

“Monica we need you over here.” Mike called out to her and she quickly got up and walked over to them.

“You look pale.” Rob said to his wife.

“Yeah, well, train crashes don’t agree with me,” she said and then looked at Rob “I’m fine, though. I’m just -- I’m just cold.” she said shriving a little as she look a sip of her water that was giving to her when Monica checked her out, Rob then put his arm around her shoulder moving her closer to him.

“You’re starting to dilate, Anna. This baby is coming.” Monica said after she finished check her.

“Not now. Oh ***. This can be happening.” she said.

Hi there,

I've been reading this one pretty much since the beginning but haven't responded as much as I should have. Well, I'm here now, telling you that so far what I have read is quite good, original, entertaining... Sometimes in parts it's a little hard to read, but overall 99% is great. Character and plot development is good, I like the way you lead up to things without giving yourself away too much. Very admirable. Anyway, just wanted to say hi and thanks. I love reading good quality fics, and so far you haven't disappointed me. Rob and Talinda (still laughing about it), Mike and Anna estranged... original. *thumbs up*

At the other side of the wall of rocks where Joe and Karen were at, Karen was still with him, never leaving his side.

“I wish that we could have gotten married,” he said.

“We will,”

“No, I have no regrets, okay? I’ve had a great life, you’ve made the last 24 hours the best,” he said as he shivered some more.

“Joe --” she said softly.

“I’m glad I got to be your fiancé,”

“And you will still be my fiancé and later on my husband. I will never stop loving you” she said trying not to cry and she leaned down to give him a light kiss. As she leaned back up she saw that his eyes were close, “Joe? Joe?” and she looked up as there was a big rumble and knew that there was going to be a cave in.

As the cave in was going on, Jen was climbing the ladder to get out of the tunnel and had to let go, falling off the ladder screaming as Robin and Patrick covered themselves by warping there arms around each other and leaned down. When the rumbling sound got louder Mike and Anna along with Linsey looked up and Mike quickly covered himself over Anna as Linsey covered her head lying on the ground. Rob put Talinda halfway into his lap and put his arms on her back laying his head into her back. Quickly getting on to the ground Monica had Brad cover her and Chester who was near them got down on the ground putting his hands over his head as the rocks finally fall down.

As the rocks were still falling, on the commuter train Sam, who was still in the corner, put both her leg up and put her head into her lap warping her arms around her so she could block out the sound of the rocks falling on the train, she then looked up and over to the exit and couldn’t believe who she saw, it was Hector looking right back at her smiling and waving.

******

News helicopters where now flying around the train crash site taking live shot footage of what was going on as rescues crew workers at the north entrance of the Glencoe Tunnel were pulling out survivors of the crash.

“Survivors of the collision are being pulled from the north entrance of the tunnel. The drill way officials estimated about as may as 50 people remain trapped inside.” a helicopters report said.

******

After the rocks stop falling, the commuter train was badly hit up from the rocks that sparks were now sparking on the side the train. The debris that was near Sam had falling during the cave in and knocked her unconscious. Back over to everyone else was at, Rob slowly lift his head up.

“You okay?” he asked Talinda who was now under him and he felt something heavy on his back and he turned his head a little, seeing that it was a beam and pushed it off of him.

“I‘m all right. Go check on the others, Rob,” she said and cried out as he got off of her and went to grab her side with her left hand.

Mike helped Anna back and looked to see if she was okay “Are you okay?” he asked but it didn’t come out loud as he was coughing.

“Yep, I’m all right,” Anna said as Mike moved her to sit down since they moved on to there side during the cave in, “You’re the guys that made yourself a human shield. Linsey you have to --” she said to both Mike and Linsey who were next to her but she stop as a strong contraction started happening.

“Okay, easy, easy, easy,” Mike said.

“Another contraction?” Linsey asked.

“They’re getting stronger,” she said.

“Ok, ok we need to get you out of here. This baby’s coming soon.” he said.

“You okay? Any cuts? Buries?” Brad asked his wife after he got off of her since he covered himself over her during the cave in.

“No, I’m fine.” she said.

Chester got up and he looked behind him seeing that Linsey was trying to get up on the train tracks and grabbed to hold onto the train for balances.

“Are you okay?” he asked helping Linsey.

“Yea I’m okay.” she had and then she looked over to his shoulder to the wall of rock and saw that it was cover back up again “Oh, my ***…Joe and Karen,” she said and Chester looked over his shoulder and saw it closed up and then he got down and walked over to the wall as Monica looked over there. When he reached the wall, he reached and moved some small rocks that were on top of the new pile where the old opening uses to be at and then he looked up as he thought heard some more rumbling.

******

On the other side of the now covered up wall Karen was laying on her back and she started to cough slowly rolling onto her side as she still coughed.

“Joe?” she called as she slowly started to get up and turned around slowly “Oh, my ***,” she said when she saw that Joe was buried under a bunch of rocks and beams “Joe?” she called out scared for him.

******

Outside the triage center helicopters were still flying over the crash site. A lot of chaos was going on as paramedic and emergency crew work as fast as they could. A police detective and a volunteer helper helped Phoenix, who had finally founded away out, over to an empty gurney that was set up outside in the triage center and called a paramedic over to check him. The helper that had talked to the police commissioner came up to him asked him if they saw anyone but he couldn’t answer since he were coughing heavily.

******

Back over at the commuter train, Sam slowly was waking up, cough softly from the dust that was in the air from the debris and slowly sat up turning her head to look to see if Hector was at the door and he wasn’t, then she moved a little to see if anyone was were Robin and Jen use to be at and she didn’t so she slowly got down on her hands and knees and started to crawl on the floor.

“Joe, Karen?” Chester called hoping that one of them would hear him, but there was no respond.

“We have to dig through this,” Monica said as she was near Chester’s side and the both of them along with Brad started moving some rocks.

Talinda watched them biting her lower lip nervously and then turned around to look at Anna and Mike and Linsey who was back sitting with them. Anna was in the middle of a contraction. She closed her eyes and squeezed Mike’s hand really hard as it was other strong one.

“Okay. Okay. All right. All right?” he said as he felt his hand being crushed.

“I’m having another contraction,” she said opening eyes, leaning her head back.

“Come on, breath. Breath though it, breath though it…,” he said breathing with her to help with the breathing pattern “Breath…ok good. Good,” he said when she finished.

“They’re coming faster,” she said.

“Yeah…four minutes apart now,” he said looking down at his watch since he was timing how many minutes her contractions where apart.

“I don’t want to have this baby in this godforsaken place Mike,”

“I know.” Linsey said trying to help Anna.

“Anna, listen to me. You’re going to be alright. You and the baby are going to be just fine” he told her.

“Okay, I know. Did you hear that?” she asked her stomach.

“Monica? You’re a medical student, right?” Rob asked her.

“Yeah” she said coming up to him.

“Go help Anna and Mike. We’ll get Joe and Karen out here” he said and she walked over to them and then he turned around when Talinda coughed as she got up.

“Ugh” she let out when she stopped.

“How’s your side?” he asked her.

“I’m fine”

“Okay, you look pale”

“You know what? I need to do something to help get my mind off of it, ok? I need to help” she said.

“No, Talinda, you need to sit down of a sec,”

“The rescues team will take a look at it when they get here. In the meantime, all I could do is wait,” she said walking away from him and going over to the wall as he followed her not wanting to fight with his wife right now. Linsey got up from sitting with Mike and Anna and walked over to help move some rocks.

“Easy, easy,” Mike said to Anna as she was having yet another contraction.

Oh, this ones quicker,” she said

“Ok. Breath. You need to breath --,”

“I am,”

“Three minutes.” Monica said as she timed the contraction.

“Three minutes. Three minutes, Ok.” Mike said to himself.

“I want you to be born, darling, but I don’t want it to happen here.” she said talking to her stomach again.

At the wall Rob, Chester, Brad, Linsey, and Talinda worked to get the hole open again. On the other side of it Karen was franticly digging at the dirt and rock trying to get to Joe, “Joe, just hold on babe. I’m coming to get you.” she said still digging.

******

11:15 p.m.

“Oh, boy!” Anna yelled leaning forward as she was having another contraction.

“Ok. Ok. Breathe in. Breathe…breath in, breath in. Come on, breath in,” Mike said putting his hand behind her head making her rest her forehead against his and she lean back against the rock making him let go of her “Now, good. You ok?” he asked as she started swing her hand at him to have him stop touching her.

“You don’t have to happen to have an epidural handy. Do you?” she asked.

He laughed a little “I know your doing okay when your making a joke,” he said and she reached grabbing his ears and pulled him down “Agh --,”

“I’m not joking,” she said putting her other hand on his head.

“Ok, ok! All right, honey, yeah. Breath!” he got out from his face buried in her stomach and also the pain from her pulling his ear.

“I’m trying to believe that a rescue team is going to be hear when the baby is born,” she said to him with his head still on her stomach.

“Were going to need more first-aid supplies,” Monica said trying to get Anna to let go of Mike.

“The rescue team’s got to have some,” he said as Anna let go of him and he sat up shaking his head, putting his hand on his throbbing ear.

“We don’t know when here going to be here. I rather be prepared, ok? I’m going to back into the wreck to see what I can find,” Monica said getting up.

“That’s a good ideal, you ok?” Mike said to Monica about the ideal part and being okay part to Anna.

Rob pulled Talinda away from the rocks “You’ve done enough. You’ve done enough,”

“We got to digging, Rob,” she said not want for him to make her stop.

“Somebody got to keep Anna company while Mike and Monica go get some supplies,” he said pointing to them.

“Rob, Rob, I don’t want to leave Anna” Mike called out to him holding Anna’s hand.

“No, its okay, I’ll be quick” Monica said.

“You can’t go on that train alone, Monica. You don’t know what you’ll find in there” Rob said to her.

“He’s right, you know, ok?” Mike said and started to get up put Anna pulled him back down since she was still holding his hand, “You all right?” He asked her.

“Be careful” she said.

“I will. Hey, listen, you the strongest women I know. This -- this baby is very lucky to have you as a mother” he said then he got up again but she pulled him down again, “ok? What?”

“I don’t mean to be clingy --” she started out.

“Huh?” he asked.

“But I really need you to get through this” she said.

“Ok, Anna. Were -- were going to get through this, all right?” he said trying to get up so he could go but she pulled him back to her for a third time.

“Hurry back” she said and he looked at her and lean down to give her a quick kiss on the lips, this was the first time in a long time that they had lip connect. Then he got up as Talinda stood behind him and Anna let go of his hand.

“Breath” he said walking away and she swung her hand like ‘yeah, yeah, yeah.’

Talinda kneeled down in front of her and Anna wasn’t looking at her, then she finally looked up at her.

“Karen, Joe can you hear me?” Chester called out as he, Rob, Brad and Linsey were still trying to moved the rocks.

Karen didn’t hear Chester as she was moving a beam off of the pile and resting it against the train, “Joe? Joe? I’m coming to get you, babe!” she said getting on top of the pile and he was under, she then started to dig at the dirt that was in the pile hoping to find Joe under it, “**** it! Where are you? Joe, just stay in there! Joe? Oh. Oh.” she said when she found some fabric and moved putting her hand in the dirt, pulling up his hand, she grab his hand and the first thing she did was check his pulse “Oh, ***. Oh, ***. Oh, my ***” she said to herself as she started to cry.

Chapter 8

A medical personal was checking out Phoenix, “Were going to prep you for transport to Community and Mission Hospital, I need a tag,” she called out as Phoenix cough.

“No, no. He’s not critical we need him there,” a volunteer helper said.

“No, he needs to be examined” she said.

“He’s the only one to get out of the railroad cars. He could tell us were the other people are at and how to reach them” the volunteer helper said as the police commissioner come up to them.

“I agree with him. I need him here. Maybe he could map out what’s down there. Up until now, we’ve been digging blind,” he said as Phoenix was given an oxygen mask and a blanket.

As the helper and the police commissioner were talking, Phoenix couldn’t stand waiting any more so he got up, starting to head back to the tunnel but he was stopped by the commissioner himself.

“I got to go, I got to go,”

“Dave, Dave wait.”

“I got to get back into the tunnel they need my help.” he said as the police commissioner held him back, “The rest of my band and there wives, mine too are down there.”

******

Back in the tunnel were Karen was at, she moved another beam off of the pile pushing most of the dirt off of Joe, not caring that there was a wire sparking really bad behind her. She got more dirt off of him and went to move another beam that was on his shoulder but found that it was too heavy for her to lift up.

“Oh, *** -- Oh, ***. Oh. Baby, don’t do this to me. Just stay with me. Please stay with me, ok?” she touched his face and went to grabbed the beam, “I got to get through this…I-I-I can’t --” she said when she could only move it an inch “Oh, ***, what I’m going to do?” she asked herself not wanting to lose Joe.

******

Chester, Rob, Brad and Linsey were still work on getting the wall open slowly moving the rocks but there were heavy so it was only Rob, Brad and Chester who were moving the heavy ones.

“Ok, were making progress,” Chester said moving another rock.

“Not fast enough,” Rob said grabbing a rock as Brad picked one up too.

Linsey reached to get a small rock, getting it and was taking it to the small pile they were making as she was walking she lost her footing on a rock which made her fall down.

“Whoa!” Rob said.

“Linsey” Chester said as they all quickly walked over to her, she sat up as if it was a trip and brushed some dirt off of her.

“I’m fine,”

“Are you sure?” Brad asked.

“Yeah” she said getting back up but when she got on her right foot a sharp pain shoot through her foot “Oh!” she said going back down.

“What happen?” Rob asked her.

“I don’t know something wrong with my foot” she said.

“Ok. Brad and Rob will help you sit down and I’ll will go and get Monica to look at your foot” he said as they both got to her side and help her hop over to some rocks to sit on near the train. Anna was groaning as another contraction was going on and she banged her fist on some derby behind her.

“Anna, breath. Breathe, good. Good,” Talinda said her.

“Oh. The pity.” she said looking at her.

“Yeah, well, Mike will be back soon, ok?”

“I know I shouldn’t care. I know I shouldn’t want him hear. But I do” she said.

On the antique train Mike came into the room, they were all once in, holding a bunch of blankets and set them down on top of some water bottles that he found early, picking them up and then turning around when Monica walked back in.

“I found the first-aid kits but there nothing that’s going to help with Anna’s labor” she said as she was holding some more blankets and two first-aid kits.

“Ok, women have given birth for thousands of years with out the aid of modern medicine. We will have to do it the old-fashion way…with blankets, water and a lot of hand holding,”

“Ok, I guess we’ll just have to make do” she said and Mike saw that she was holding back on something.

“Monica is there something you’re not telling me?” he asked.

“It may be nothing” she said.

“Monica, please, what is it” he said but Chester come on to the train.

“Monica, we need you” he said and walked back out, then Monica turned around and walked out as Mike followed her.

******

“I want you to go back to the south tunnel entrance,” the police commissioner said to one of his police officers.

“It’s slowly-going,”

“Then find other way in,”

“Dave made it out through the north,”

“Dave was on the Los Angeles train. My daughter was on the train from Inglewood. It closer to the south entrances,”

“I know I‘m suppose to be looking for your daughter…and I will but there are other people trapped in there, too”

“I’m not asking you to step over anyone, all right, or leave anyone to die. My daughter, I haven’t seen her since she was five. She flew here from San Diego to come and see me. I‘m not going to lose her, not to that tunnel, now get her out!”

“I get it,” the police officer said.

“Do you?”

“I know that your worrier about her. We will get her out, but first let’s listen to what Dave has to say. Maybe he knows another way in. Maybe the commuter passengers, including you daughter, had found away through the tunnel and are with the Los Angeles passengers by now. Look, once we have an ideal of what‘s going on in there, I will try my best to find her daughter.”
