Chapter 49

Yeah I'm back with one more chapter to go and that's it for this story :( . Within this update is Jennifer's christening. Sorry Rav if I got you confused about Jennifer's christening being the end of the story. I want to end the story with Talinda's funeral. So here's there's the second to last chapter...

******

Mike was softly walking around the room with Jennifer in his arm as Anna watched him. There was a soft knock on the door and it slowly opened revealing Linsey and Phoenix. They came walking in and Phoenix slowly closed the door behind him.

“Hey! I got it” Linsey said softly walking up to the side of Anna’s bed. She held out the christening gown that Anna called her to pick out for Jennifer.

“Thanks. Oh! It’s so beautiful. Thanks Linsey for doing this”

“No problem Anna. I’ll be doing this again in a couple months”

“Congratulations by the way”

There was another knock on the door and the door slowly open and Brad and Monica stood in the doorway, “Hey!” they softly said.

“Hey guys. Come on in” Mike said which then made Jennifer fussed. She then calm down as he started to softly rock her again.

Brad and Monica walked into the room and Monica closed the door behind her. Brad did the half handshake and half slap on the back to Phoenix and nodded at Mike since he was holding Jennifer. Monica walked over to the side of Anna’s bed that Linsey was at.

“Hey Monica. You know I can’t thank you enough for saving mine and Jennifer’s life”

“You know, Anna, its no problem. It shouldn’t be me you’re thanking, it should be Robin. She did most of the work. I just listen to her directions”

“Even though you didn’t do the c-section, you helped me through the contractions and even found a way to stop them” Anna said and then looked at Mike.

“Actually, Monica, Brad there’s something we want to ask the both of you. We would like you to be Jennifer’s godparents”

******

“Jen, it's not what you think. Patrick -- he's delirious. He has no idea what he's doing” Robin said trying to explain what just happen.

“But you do” Jen said walking further into the room and up to the side of Patrick’s bed.

“Don't start, Jen” Chester said.

“No, no, no, why, Chester? Patrick is in agony. She is abusing his trust. I want you out of here now” Jen said.

“I am trying to save Patrick's life, Jen” Robin said.

“Come on, let's go” Chester said putting his hand on Robin’s arms wanting her to come with him.

“Don't blow this” she said to Jen who was looking at Patrick rubbing his arm.

“Let's go” Chester said again.

“I'm not leaving Patrick right --”

“Yes, you are. Let's go” Robin sigh and turned around following Chester out of the room. Chester closed the door behind him and looked at Robin wanting to know what happen.

“Chester, he is in a critical state of his treatment. I can't --“

“Ok, I understand. Look, you just can't be -- don't fall into what's going on in there”

“What are you talking about? She accused me of taking advantage of his illness? That's crazy! I mean, he kissed me”

“And you didn't fight it”

“Oh, my --” Robin said shaking her head not believing this.

“Look -- no, no, I'm just saying I know what you and Patrick had together, and I know why you picked this medical specialty -- because you want to rescue people. That's what you do. You couldn't save Chris, maybe you can save Patrick”

“I am a professional, Chester”

“I understand you're a professional. But there has to be a part of you that hopes he wakes up and remembers how much he loved you”

In Patrick’s room, Jen was sitting on the side on his bed. Patrick turned his head and let out a grunt, “Robin --” he called out turning his head again.

On Anna’s floor, Rav and Rob, who was carrying Matthew in his carseat, walked off the elevator. Rav lowered her head hoping that Patricia or one of the other nurses wouldn’t call her by her nickname. They manage to walk a little bit away from the nurse’s station when….

“Ms. Ranter!” Rav could of kept walking but she stopped cold which then made Rob stop and turned to looked at her wondering why she stop walking. Rav slowly turned around and saw that it was Patricia who call out her nickname, “Ms. Ranter what are you doing back at the hospital?”

Rav walked up to the nurse’s station, “Patricia, can’t I come and visit. As a matter of fact it's Mrs. Shinoda I came to see. As you can see I’m with him” she said pointing to Rob.

Patricia raised her eyebrow at her and then lowered her voice, “Rob Bourdon? The man we always tease you about?”

“Yes. And another thing, don’t call me ranter around him okay? He doesn’t know and I don’t want to have to tell him”

“He doesn’t know? And you’re just going to keep it from him?”

“I'll tell him soon, but not right now”

“Alright. Well have fun” Patricia said and slightly laughed. Rav just rolled her eyes and walked back over to Rob.

They then continued and went down the hall to Anna’s room, “Ms. Ranter? Is that your last name or something?” Rob asked her after a few seconds.

Rav then started cursing Patricia’s name to herself before she answered, “It’s just a nickname the hospital picked up for me”

“Any special reason why?”

“It’s because I’ll get into these ranting moods if something I totally disagree with or agree to just to have my say in it. But basically I rant and rave just for the **** of it”

“I’ll have to see you in one of those moods” he said laughing a little.

“Trust me you don’t. I have a tendency to bore people when I get in one of those moods” she said looking at him.

“I guess I'll just have to see, won’t I?”

Chester kept talking to Robin for a little longer before she went back in to check on Patrick, who started talking in his semiconscious state. Jen walked out of the room to talk to Chester, “Patrick flatlined. It was terrible, Chester. I thought he was going to die. Robin had to take him off of the medication because it was too much for his heart. Patrick warned me in the beginning not to get my hopes up. I wanted to believe that this would work”

“Robin -- Jen just be lucky that Robin had the medication with her on the train. She didn’t know about Patrick condition until she met him on that train. She’s done everything she can to save Patrick”

“Jen --” Patrick called out. Robin turned her head towards the door.

“Jen, Patrick's calling for you” she said. Jen walked into the room going up to the side of his bed.

“Is he awake?”

“Semiconscious” she said.

“Hey. Hi”

Patrick groaned a little, “I'm ok” was the first thing his said without opening his eyes up.

“You're ok? Can you hear me?” Jen asked.

“You're right next to me” he said opening his eyes up now.

“Thank ***”

******

“Rob, I’m so sorry about Talinda. I didn’t mean for her to die” Monica said to Rob. Right now Phoenix, Linsey, Rav, Rob and Monica were standing in the hallway waiting for Anna, who was getting ready, so they could go to the hospital’s church.

“Monica, don’t be. You didn’t know something seriously was wrong. Until it was too late. Don’t blame yourself over it. I’m not mad at you for it. I don’t think I could ever be”

Monica felt tears threatening to fall. She looked down at Matthew who was still in his carseat, “I’m so sorry that you have to raise Matthew alone” she said looking back up.

“It’s okay. I’ve got help” he said and turned looking at Rav slightly and then wrapped his arm around her shoulder. He rested his head on top of her’s when she wrapped one of her arms around him.

“Ahem. Rob. You going to introduce her to us. Or we just going to have to call her Rob’s girl?” Phoenix asked him.

Rob lifted his head up a little, raising his eyebrows up at Phoenix, “Rob’s girl? What the **** is that suppose to mean?”

“Well obviously she’s your girlfriend”

That statement then made Rob looked down at Rav who was looking up at him, “Um, yeah. I guess your right” he then looked back at Phoenix, “Her names Ravyn. And Rav this is --”

“Phoenix, I know” she said only to receive confused look from both Rob and Phoenix, “We've met before. I took Jennifer from your wife when you first come to the hospital” she was so glad she had that to back up her statement.

“Oh! I remember you now. It’s nice to properly meet you Ravyn” he said and then held out his hand for her to shake.

She moved her arm from around Rob as he let go of her, “Nice to meet you again. And I’m fine with you calling me Rav” she said shaking his hand.

“Will do then” he said when he let go of her. Anna’s hospital door open and Anna, who was holding Jennifer, was wheeled out of her room with a nurse pushing her chair. Mike followed closely behind.

“Hey! Don’t leave with out us!” They all heard and turned to seeing Brad and Chester quickly coming to them. When they reached the group they all finally headed down to the chapel.

******

As soon as everyone got there, they quickly walked inside taking seat in the pews. Anna, Mike, Brad and Monica stopped at the door so Anna could get up and walk the rest of the way in. Before getting up she handed Jennifer over to Monica so that she could hold her during the ceremony. Anna then grabbed onto the side of the chair and slowly started to pull herself up. Mike put his arm across her back and helped his wife up the rest of the way. Once she was on her feet, she shook her head after Mike asked her if she was okay to stand on her own. He moved his arm from around her but stayed close behind her as the four of them made there way up to the front of the chapel where the Reverend was standing.

“Welcome to each of you. My name is Reverend Clark. We're here today to participate in the christening sacrament --” Jennifer fussed lightly as Monica moved her to get more comfortable in her arms. Once she was, Jennifer went right back to sleep. That made Anna and Mike smile at that, even the Reverend stop talking as he thought that was cute, “And to celebrate our joy in the arrival of a precious child”

“The parents of this baby, Anna and Mike, want to celebrate their joy with you and look forward to your participation in the life of the child in the years ahead. They are also aware of the great responsibility that is now theirs. A great deal of their lives will be involved in caring for the child, guiding her through the many paths of life”

“Hey, you okay?” Rav softly asked Rob when she turned to look at him.

“Yeah I’m. It’s just hard watching Mike and Anna with Jennifer when I know that Talinda won’t be here anymore to be a part of Matthew’s life. But it’s all good. Because I have you” he softly said back to her. She smiled at that and then turned back to watch the ceremony.

“As the years go by, their role as parents will be assisted and enhanced by each one of you here today, as well as by friends and family unable to be here”

“Hey, you did it. Your baby's finally here” Rob said looking at Talinda who just did her final push to bring her son into the world. Talinda looked in front of her when the doctor put her baby on her stomach for her to see.

“He’s finally here. He’s handsome just like his father. I wish Matthew could see his son” Talinda said as she felt like crying. The doctor then had Rob cut the umbilical cord.

Once he did, he gave the scissors back to the nurse that was right next to him. He took his free hand since his other hand was still holding Talinda’s, moving some of her hair from her forehead, “He’s looking down right now and he’s very proud of you. Talinda you have amazing strength doing this by yourself and for that I love you”

“I didn’t do it all by my self, Rob, you helped me through this whole pregnancy. And I waited so long for you to say that to me, I love you too”

He leaned down and gave her kiss.

The sound of his step-son fussing in his carseat a little made Rob come back out of his own thoughts. Matthew stopped fussing then.

“What’s the name that'll be given to this child?” The Reverend asked Brad and Monica after they agreed to be Jennifer’s godparents.

“Jennifer Alexis Shinoda” Monica and Brad said together.

“In this holy christening, I welcome you, Jennifer Shinoda, into the holy church and pray that ***'s grace keeps you safe forever in the kingdom of ***.” Monica moved a little closer as the Reverend cupped some of the holy water in his hand, “I baptize you, Jennifer Shinoda, in the name of the father and the son and the holy spirit” he said pouring the water on the back of Jennifer’s head

“Thank you” both Mike and Anna said.

Chapter 50 (Last Chapter!)

Alright this is it. This is the end of TLATC. My new story will be out tomorrow after I get off from work. The story is called Secrets. An advance warning for this chapter. It's a real tearjerker. So make sure you have a box of Kleenex by you :p .

******

The sound of the church's organ playing filled the church as friends and family members of Talinda slowly filled the pews. Rob stood outside of the church along with Rav by his side. Chester, Sam, Brad, Monica, Phoenix, Linsey, and Mike slowly made there way up the church steps and walked over to Rob and Rav. Unfortunately, Anna couldn't come as she was still recovering from her c-section. Neither could Joe. Karen wasn’t going to make it, not that she didn’t want to, she just wanted to stay with Joe.

The hurst pulled up to the curb as a few more friends/co-workers of Talinda walked up the steps of the church. A man and a woman of the group walked over to Rob to give there condolences.

“I’m sorry about you’re lost, Rob” The women said. Her name was Jennifer. She was Talinda’s receptionist in her law firm.

“Yeah, thank you -- thank you for coming, Jennifer”

“Talinda, she was a great person to work with. She’ll be missed terribly”

“She was indeed. My condolences” The man said. He also worked with Talinda. John was Talinda‘s partner. Talinda’s passing gave him full control of her law practice as that was how it was arrange when Talinda open the second one up.

“Thank you” was all Rob could say to anyone who came up to him to give him there condolences.

Jen and John then walked into the church to find a seat. The driver of the hurst walked up to the group still outside, “Mr. Bourdon? When you’re ready the casket is ready to be brought inside”

“Okay. Thank you”

Chester, Brad, Phoenix, and Mike started walking towards the steps. Mike stopped and turned to face his friend, seeing that Rob wasn’t going to come with them. Mike walked back up to him, “Rob. I know it’s going too be hard if you help carry Talinda’s casket. Go ahead in and me and the rest of the guys will do it”

“Thanks Mike”

“No problem. Anything to help a friend out, right?” Mike said putting his hand on Rob’s shoulder and gave it a light squeeze. Rob just nodded and when Mike let go, he walked into the church with Rav.

Mike then walked back over to the group where they continued walking down the church steps. They reached the Hurst and the driver open up the back sliding the casket out on a roller. Each of the guys got on the side of Talinda’s casket, making it two on two. They grabbed the gold handles of the metallic blue casket and lifted it up. Slowly the guys turned to face the steps and started too walked up going into the church.

They carried the casket down the aisle, reaching the front of the church, going up a couple steps. When they reached the front all four of them softly lower the casket on to a stand. Once Talinda’s casket was on the stand the guys let go of the gold handles and walked to there seat which was behind Rob and Talinda's family.

The church's organ stopped playing and the pastor came out, walking over to the microphone stand, “A butterfly lights beside us like a sunbeam. And for a brief moment its glory and beauty belong to our world. But then it flies on again, and though we wish it could have stayed, we feel so lucky to have seen it....” The pastor said starting out the service, “We gather here today to give thanks for the life of Talinda, who shared her life with us and died on May 27, at the age of 32. It is in her memory that we gather and for her life that we are thankful” the pastor continued. He then went and read a prayer. After the prayer was said, Sam felt tears run down her face. She lost her best friend. This time she wasn’t going to come back in twelve years with a new name. Talinda was gone for good. Sam tried holding the tears in but couldn’t and cried out. Chester then put his arm around her, “There is much to remember and much to be thankful for as we remember Talinda and the way she shared her life with those around her. Each of us gives gifts of ourselves to those we share life with. These are gifts that no one can take away. Though we are gone, these gifts remain with those to whom we have given them. I’d like to now have a couple family member and friends of Talinda come up and speak about her. Our first speaker will be Talinda’s husband. Rob?”

Rob let go of Rav’s hand quickly wiping some tears that fell from his eyes before he stood up. He slowly walked up a couple steps and went over to the microphone, “Nobody -- nobody said life was fair. Um -- and -- uh -- usually I can talk and say things. But -- uh --”

Chester quickly got up and walked up to him, “Hey -- you don't have to do it. You go sit down, ok?” Rob just nodded knowing that he couldn’t finish. He walked back to his seat and sat down beside Rav. She grabbed his hand and gave it a light squeeze. Chester then took over the microphone, “First of all, I want to thank everybody for coming. I know Talinda would've appreciated. It’s true. I didn’t know Talinda that well. Talinda was different then anyone I’ve ever met during the time I got to know her. She was a true friend, not just as a lover, because honestly she was more of a friend then anything to me. I knew that Talinda looked foreword to having her little boy that she wanted to share the love of a family with someone. I’m glad that she got to share that with her husband, Rob, for the small amount of time that they had together. It's wrong that Talinda's gone, it's wrong that the world has lost someone with so much kindness and generosity, and it's really wrong that her little boy will never experience the love of his mother. I know that if Talinda want-- wanted to ask us one thing, she would want us to take care of that little boy and give him the best of ourselves” Chester finished at that and walked down the steps going over to his seat. Sam then got up and got out of the pews before Chester sat down.

She slowly walked up the steps and stopped to look at Talinda’s casket. She turned and walked over to the microphone, “I'd like to talk about my friend” she started out and then shook her head, “No, I'd -- I'd like to talk to my friend” and she turned to face the casket, “You know, I didn’t make friends easily, especially with women. But when I met you something changed that. You could always find the good in someone. You always knew how to pull it out of them. You were such a joy. Your smile would light up a room. You loved so deeply and righteously -- people, dogs, children. When I lost you the first time I truly thought that you wouldn’t come back. I want to say that I’m sorry for everything that happened between us in the past. I know that the past can’t be undone, but I went you to know that I’m sorry. When we finally found each other again, I was glad that I really didn’t lose you after all. We both knew that we had a lot to work on before we got like we were in high school. I remember the night you told me that you were going to leave California so you could have the family you always wanted with Matthew. You got your wish. A beautiful baby boy -- truly a miracle” Sam then turned back to look at everyone, “You know, Talinda is alive in that little boy, and she's alive in me, and she's alive in everyone here” she turned back to face her casket, “And we will never, ever let you be forgotten” she said. Slowly she walked back to her seat.

The pastor then walked back up to the microphone and read a couple readings that Rob picked out when he arranged the service. The pastor then did a final prayer, “So it is that we gather to commemorate the passing of one who was with us and is no more. We keep in our minds and hearts those memories and that love we knew because Talinda shared her life with us; and we commit her body to the ground and her spirit into the keeping of Almighty ***”

Once that was said the service was over. Mike, Chester, Brad and Phoenix got up and walked up to the casket. They grabbed a hold of the gold handles lifting the casket up. The four of them walked down the aisle and out of the church and over to the hurst that was still park outside. After Talinda’s casket was put in the car, the guys walked up the steps to get back into the church as a couple people started walking out. They reach the door where they met Rob at.

Continuing Chapter 50

Now they all were going to the cemetery where Talinda would be laid to rest. It didn’t take long to get to Evergreen Cemetery. When they got there, they watch from the curb as the grave diggers carried her casket over to her burial spot. Rob looked over to Sam remembering the lockbox, “Sam, I have something I want to give you” he said and then looked back at the grave diggers and saw them put a green plastic box in Talinda’s grave.

“Okay” she said. They then watch the grave diggers as they carefully lowered her casket. This was it. The only thing left now of Talinda would be her name on a headstone. Just her name, date of birth, date of death, that’s all. After the casket was lowered to the ground, the group of people that came to witness Talinda’s burial started to leave leaving, Chester, Sam, Phoenix, Linsey, Brad, Monica, Rob, Rav, and Mike. Rob turned around and walked up to his car. He opened the door and grabbed the lockbox walking up to Sam.

“I found this when -- when I started cleaning some of Talinda’s things out. It’s filled with pictures of you and her back in high school. I thought you would want it” he said and handed it to her.

Sam took it in shocked, “Thanks Rob” she said and held the lockbox close to her.

******

After they left the cemetery, Rob went home. Rav left, going back to her place, knowing he would want some time to himself. Rob slowly walked to Matthew’s room pushing the door open the rest of the way. He walked in further going up to the crib. He reached down and softly picked up the sleeping infant. Quietly, he walked over to the rocking chair, “You know, once upon a time before you came into the world, your mommy made me the happiest person on earth. Her mother told me to take care of her princess. And I should've -- I should've done better. But I promise -- I promise that I'll never let you down” he said looking down at Matthew. He then turned his head.

“Robert Gregory Bourdon will you take Sandra Bentley to be your lawful wife, will you love her, honor and keep her in sickness and in health and forsaking all others keep only unto her so long as you both shall live,”

“I will,” Rob said.

Who can say where the road goes,

Where the day flows?

Only time...

And who can say if your love grows,

As your heart chose?

Only time...

"Sandra Talinda Bentley will you take Robert Bourdon to be your lawful husband, will you love him, honor and keep him in sickness and in health and forsaking all others keep only unto him so long as you both shall live,”

“I will,” Talinda said.

Dee dah day, dee dah day, dee dah day

Dee dah doe day doe, dee doe day doe

Who can say why your heart sighs,

As your love flies?

Only time...

And who can say why your heart cries,

When your love dies?

Only time...

“I don’t want to do this, Rob!” Talinda cried out in pain. She was fully dilated and was ready to push, but she didn’t want to, “I want Matthew to be here!”

Rob put his hand on her back rubbing it for her to try and at least calm her down, “I know sweetheart. I know you want him here. But you got to push. If not for yourself or for your baby, then do it for Matthew”

Talinda calm down at that, “You mean that?”

“Yeah”

“Okay. I’ll push. Let’s have this baby” she said and turned on to her back.

Rob put Matthew back down in his crib and went into the living room pulling out a photo album from the book case. He sat down cross legged on the carpet and opened the album. Lose photos fell into his lap. Carefully he laid them down on the carpet…

Dee dah day, dee dah day, dee dah day

Dee dah doe day doe, dee doe day doe

Who can say when the roads meet,

That love might be,

In your heart

And who can say when the day sleeps,

If the night keeps all your heart?

Night keeps all your heart...

“You remember that night at the party. That was for the end of our tour? You remember?” his voice echo through his head.

“Yeah, yeah” Talinda's voice echoed back.

“You were just so easy to talk to. And I knew that night that we had something special, you know, we were connected then. And I think that we have been ever since”

Dee dah dah dah

Dee dah dah dah

Dee dah dah dah

Dee dah dah dah

Who can say if your love grows,

As your heart chose?

Only time...

And who can say where the road goes,

Where the day flows?

Only time...

“I love you, Rob, so much”

“I know you do honey. I do to, I always will. I’m sorry for getting mad at you earlier”

“Don’t be…” Talinda said and then paused, “I wish we met at a different time”

Who knows?

Only time...

“I guess that I wasn’t really ready for a steady relationship when I moved down here. I was with Chester just to fill the hole in my heart over Matthew’s death, but the greatest thing out of his death was our son, who I named him after. I wish that we could have had our own child…I want you to take care of Matthew for me” she said almost starting to cry.

“Talinda? Baby why are you talking like you’re going to die? You’re not, ok” Rob said and reached out touching her hands and felt that they were cold, “Your hands are freezing”

“Yeah”

Who knows?

Only time...

Rob set down the last picture in the pile. He brought his hand up to his face and leaned his head on his hand. He looked down and slightly smiled at the photos. The photos were all of him and Talinda together.

Oh gosh, I don't know where to start. You were right to end it there I think, but it was still so sweet and so moving despite the circumstances. I'll be honest it made me misty, I didn't cry, but it certainly made me choke up there, especially during the service for Talinda. My *** you wrote that so decriptively and honest and true to life... I could see it all so clear and so... real I guess. I'm sad that it is over but I am also happy in the way in which you chose to end it. This was an even balance to the start, it's almost come full circle emotionally, in that now with Talinda's passing Rob is poised to start a new life again, something symbolically equated to a wedding in which is the start of two new lives together. Not only that but it seemed to be a new chapter for all of them. Sam and Chester getting remarried. Mike and Anna raising Jennifer. Patrick and Jen. Phoenix and Lindsay and their child. All of them in one degree or another that were so affected by the tragedy of the beginning found a kind of closure and a hint of a new life yet to come. Just emotionally beautiful. All of it was so pure and honest and raw and dramatic... I don't know what else to say. I just loved it. I am sad to see it end, it was a **** of a ride but in another way I am also glad too. Glad for the fact that out of all that they went through it wasn't all for nothing. Some good came from it. And there is the promise of better to come. It's not a textbook hollywood style 'happily ever after' (which I loathe and detest because life is not like that) but it was a start, a glimpse of it, and its cleverly written to make me want to think that somewhere out there these characters are still slowly coming to terms with things and getting their lives back on track again, away from the story now. That's true talent. For that you must be commended!

And I also loved the flashbacks intermittently woven between the lyrics... it was like a glimpse inside Rob's head (that's a scary thought indeed) that guaged his reaction to this life altering event almost in collective terms with a beginning, ending and a new beginning all over again.

Yeah, as I said very clever. You are trully talented. Doesn't matter what anyone else thinks, I loved it. And I can't wait for what comes next.

I have saved a copy of this entire story to my harddrive to reread (have done so already several times) I hope you don't mind.

Great. I just... can't say any more than that!

Thanks again for a wonderful story.

*hugs*

~Rav :D

Boo!!! Guess who? I'll give you a hint... s...e...b...b...y...0...2... :) Love your stories! Keep up the great work! This would have to my favourite. :)

You really made my tears fall down on that part..This story is just so good you know?? Just like what Rav said on one of her reviews,it's just like watching a soap or a movie. The setting is so perfect,I imagine myself being there,at Glencoe tunnel itself...... just wish it won't happen in real life situation. You really got me going,I loved it too much!!!!![I'm not reading Secrets yet..]

May I print it? You know, it's worthy to be added to my collection,I want to read it over and over again..just felt like asking permission from you,I might get sued for unauthorized printing.. *hides under the bed*..heeehee..

I have a question though..I got a bit confused on Chapter 34 on page 5..is Jason a part of Patrick's name? And how did Brad know that Monica was admitted to the hospital when he was confident with the thought that he already took her home? :)

I really love it.Thanks for making it..

I have a question though..I got a bit confused on Chapter 34 on page 5..is Jason a part of Patrick's name? And how did Brad know that Monica was admitted to the hospital when he was confident with the thought that he already took her home?

I really love it.Thanks for making it..
Thanks so much for even reviewing!!! I knew I would get someone to cry on the last chapter eventually. You've got to read Secrets if you want a better understanding of how the couples come to how they were in this story.

Of course you can print this story. I have no problem. Rav did it so why can't anyone else do it?

In chapter 34, as I stated in chapter 44:

As a matter of fact I got it from the soap opera show General Hospital and along with the whole ideal for the train crash . The only thing that is originally written by me is the Rob and Rav stuff. I changed the connections that everyone has from the real train crash story line on GH' date=' putting the band in instead of normal citizens like GH had. But yeah, that where a got it from. So you'll want to thank the writers of GH for writing that, hehe.[/quote']No Jason is not part of Patrick's name. As stated up above ^ I took some lines from GH. Well, I guess when I was writing that out I had Jason's name stuck in my head. Jason is an character off of GH. I tried my hardest to make sure that I used my characters name but I guess that just slipped in.

EDIT: Reaziled after reading a chapter back that Brad wasn't seeing Joe at the hospital that he was seeing Linsey and Phoenix. As for Brad and Monica's part...Monica works at the hospital that she was admitted to. She knows some of the nurses that work there to. So when Brad was leaving to go back home after seeing Linsey and Phoenix one of the nurses told that his wife was just admitted. So that's how Brad knew about Monica being at the hospital.

Thanks again for the review. I had fun writing this story out. Who knows maybe there will still be a epilogue sometime in the future. Hmm.

Keep your fingers cross.

Epilogue

After much consideration I decided to just go ahead and do the epilogue. I do hope that you all enjoy it as much as I enjoy writing it.

5 Years Later (2013)

The friends that came to gather for the party were sitting outside in the backyard, talking away. In the background the sound of the ocean crashing against the shore could be heard, but the friends didn’t really hear the sound. What they could hear the most was children laughing as they were jumping into the pool. The few that were sitting around the table erupted in laughter from the joke Chester just told them.

“Chester!” Sam said slapping his arm.

“What?” he said as he laughed. The door bell went off inside the house. Anna who was sitting at the table next to Mike heard it and started to get up.

“Hey, let me get it. Stay here and relax” Mike said getting up after giving Anna a kiss on her forehead and then went inside to get the door.

“So how have you been holding up Anna?” Sam asked her.

“Good. Can’t wait for this baby to come” she said and rested her hand on her producing stomach.

“Do you and Mike know if you’re going to be having a girl or boy?”

“We want to wait for this one. We already have Jennifer and Nathan. Just as long as this baby has ten fingers and ten toes I’m happy.” Once Anna was released from the hospital, her and Mike started working on the promises that they made in the tunnel after Jennifer was born. So when Jennifer turned two years old, Anna became pregnant again. The pregnancy was different from Jennifer’s as Anna and Mike worked on the problems that aroused when she was pregnant with Jennifer so that it wouldn’t happen again. It also ended differently then Jennifer’s too instead of having to have a c-section it was a natural birth in a nice hospital, in a private room with Mike by her side. Nathan Michael Shinoda came into the world January 5, 2010 at 8 pounds, 2 ounces and 22 inches long.

******

When the front door open to Mike and Anna’s house, Rob and Rav were greeted by Mike. The little girl that was holding Rav’s hand let go of it and hid behind Rav’s leg, “Natalia, its okay. It’s just your uncle Mike” Rav said kneeling down to be eye level with her daughter. All Natalia did was hid her face from Mike in her mother’s shoulder.

Two years after the crash, and Talinda’s death, Rob asked Rav to married him and of course she said ‘yes’. About a year into their marriage, Rav had gotten pregnant with Natalia. Matthew was happy that he was getting a sibling. Although, he knew all about his mom and that Rob and Rav weren’t really his parents, he didn’t care because he was happy with Rob and Rav.

Mike laughed at the shyness of Natalia, “She’s just like you, Rob.”

Rob just shrugged his shoulders, “It’s all good.”

“Natalia, Jennifer, Nathan, Eric and Amelia are all here. You get to play with them, okay?” Rav said still talking to Natalia. Feeling Natalia nod into her shoulder, Rav got up and then picked Natalia up to hold her.

“You want me to hold her, Rav?” Rob asked.

“No it’s okay. She’s not too heavy. And plus I’m not that far along.”

Mike step to the side and let Rob, Rav carrying Natalia and also Matthew into the house, “Your pregnant again, Rav?” Mike asked.

“Yeah. Rob and I found out about two days ago” she said and then paused before speaking again, “Where does Anna want the gifts at?”

“There’s a table outside to set them down” he said leading them to the backyard.

“Hey Rob! Hey Rav! Your both fine with Natalia and Matthew swimming?” Anna asked them.

“Yeah. It’s not a problem with us.” Rav responded.

“Aunt Annie? Where do you want me to put this at?” Matthew asked when he came up to Anna holding the present for Jennifer.

“You see that table over there” Anna said pointing to a table with gifts on it, “That’s were you can put it at, okay?”

“Thank you” he said and then put the gift on the table Anna told him too.

******

“Hey are you okay, Monica?” Brad asked his wife, sitting down next to her on one of the lounge chairs as they watched the kids in the pool.

“Huh? Oh yeah. I’m fine” she said turning to look at Brad and then back out to watch the kids.

“You’re thinking about the crash?”

“Yeah” Monica said shaking her head, “I can’t believe it’s already been five years since the crash.”

Talinda’s death deeply affected Monica. She took Amber’s advice and actually took about a week off going on a trip with Brad. Well when she had gotten home and a few weeks of going back to school she found out that she was pregnant. Once Eric was born Monica finished med school and became a pediatrician. Having done her intern at Community and Mission’s hospital she then became a part of the staff and then became the pediatrician for all the bandmates kid's.

“Yeah. Time goes flying by, doesn’t it?”

“You can say that again.”

“Is Robin coming?”

“To my aknowledge, yes. I mean she's been coming to all of Jennifer’s birthday parties. It’s a way of Anna and Mike paying Robin back for what she did.”

******

“So what does it say?” Patrick asked Jen as she came down the stairs and into the living room.

“I don’t know. I haven’t looked at it. I’m too scared to do it” she said walking up to him and handed him the pregnancy stick.

When Patrick woke up after having the drug treatment five years ago, his memory was restore and the doctor’s thought that the medication treatment had worked after all, but Robin wasn’t to happy with the test results.

“These aren't the test results I was looking for” Robin said to Jen as she looked at the chart.

“What's disappointing about Patrick's test results?” Jen asked.

“I was hoping for stronger numbers across the board. We may have to operate on him to fully remove the damage in his brain”

Jen finally agree to let the neurosurgeon and Robin go ahead and operate on Patrick. That surgery was a success and Patrick made an excellent recovery. As soon as he was released from the hospital, he and Jen had moved in together and they spent the years getting to know each other better. They made no movement in settling down anytime soon, that was until Jen started to get sick.

“Two color lines mean what?” Patrick asked.

“Pregnant” Jen said closing her eyes.

Patrick got up and walked over to Jen wrapping his arm around her, “Were going to be having a baby. A baby, Jen. Don’t be upset because it’s the most wonderful thing”

“You want this baby? But Patrick were not even married yet”

“That doesn’t matter. What matters is that we love each other and that we want to spend the rest of are life together. Bringing a child into the world isn’t going to change anything between us because I love you no matter what”

“I love you too” she said and wrapped her arms around his neck.

Epilogue Continued

“Hey!” Anna said when she answered the door seeing Robin standing there.

After the crash, Robin had stay down in L.A. to work on Patrick’s case, but once he was well, Robin then made a decision to moved down to L.A. so that she could mostly stay closer to her family and also join part of the new AIDS center at Community and Missions Hospital. In doing that, Robin got closer to the neurosurgeon that operated on Patrick.

“Hey, look at you! Getting close aren’t you?” Robin said coming into the house when Anna moved to the side.

“Yeah. About two months left until this little one comes” she answered, “Follow me. Were actually all in the backyard” she added walking to the sliding glass door opening it up for Robin and called Mike in to help her.

******

“You’re having fun Amelia?”

“Yeah” the little girl answered back as she walked up to her mom.

“Lins, Mike and Anna are getting ready to cut the cake” Phoenix said walking up to his wife who was sitting on a lounge chair.

“Okay. Come here big girl, let me dry you off” Linsey said grabbing a beach towel that was next to her. Opening it up, she wrapped the towel around Amelia and dried her off. Once she was done, Phoenix then put his arms around Amelia, picking her up and put her over his shoulder and then started too walked over to the table.

Amelia laughed yelling for her dad to put her down.

Even though the pregnancy was a surprise, Amelia was also a miracle because it turned out to be a difficult pregnancy.

******

Before the cake cutting started, Chester realized that Sam wasn’t beside him. He then started to look for her and found her on the steps leading to get to the beach. Sitting down next to her, he put his right arm around her. She then leaned her head on his shoulder.

When she was officially released from Rose Lawn, Sam and Chester took it slow before tying the knot again. What they did was actually wait a year. Once they finally tied the knot, Sam had found out that she was three months pregnant and surprised Chester at the reception. The pregnancy was great, but when it got to the ending Sam went two weeks past her due date. Talk about having to induce labor was talked about with the doctor and a date was made to go ahead and induce the labor if the baby didn’t come sooner. The day before the date to induce labor on Sam, Rhiannon decided to come into the world.

“Why did I have to hate her so much?” Sam said softly.

“Hey. It’s not your fault, okay? You didn’t know that she would die”

“I know. I don’t blame myself for her death. I just wish that we were on better terms at the end.”

“Everyone wish they treated her better then they did”

“Yeah.”

“Hey. Mike and Anna are getting ready to cut Jennifer’s cake, so let’s go back there” Chester said moving his arm from around Sam. He then got up and helped Sam up.

******

“Okay where’s the birthday girl?” Mike asked after he set the cake down on the table.

“She’s right here” Joe said setting her down.

“Okay. Come get on this, Jennifer” he said patting the chair that was in front of the cake. Once she got on the chair she sat on her knees so that she was a little taller to see the cake. Mike turned towards Anna and took the lighter she was holding from him. He then lit the five candles on the cake.

“Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday dear Jennifer, Happy birthday to you!” Everyone sang out.

“Go ahead and make a wish, sweetheart” Anna said. Jennifer then closed her eyes making a wish to herself and then blew the candles out.

“What you wish for Jennifer?” Joe asked.

“She can't tell you or the wish won’t come true!” Anna said.

Setting the lighter down, Mike then picked up the knife, “I wanna help you cut the cake daddy!” Jennifer said.

“Okay. Be careful. Hold the handle with me and we’ll do it.” Having his hand over Jennifer’s, together they cut the cake into small pieces. Once the cake was cut up, the cut pieces were then pass out to everyone.

******

After everyone had some cake and Jennifer’s presents where open the kids all went back into the pool. The adults sat around the table, but of course Joe acting immature as he does, went and joined the kids in the pool by doing a cannonball before they actually went in.

Once Joe had gotten a clean bill of health and was released from the hospital, he and Karen didn’t waste anytime to get marry. The crash made him and everyone else too realize how important life really is.

******

Later in the day, after the party, Rob took Rav and the kids’ home and then headed out again. After getting a bouquet of flower Rob then made his way to a place that held the other part of him there. Getting out of the car, he walked across the grass and stop at a familiar headstone. Kneeling down to the ground, he set the flowers on the ground and ran his finger over the name ‘Talinda Bourdon’.

“Hey, baby. Sorry that I haven’t been here in a long time. A lots change since the crash. I’ve been lucky to find someone. She helped me take care of Matthew and eventually I followed my heart and married her. We have one kid right now and another one on the way. I’m hoping for a boy” he said and laughed to himself, “I miss you. I wish that you weren’t taken away from me and that we could have enjoyed being married to each other for a long time, but I guess that wasn’t the plan after all. I’ll try to keep coming as much as I can, okay?” he said to the headstone and then got up and walked to his car getting in and drove back to his family to were his future was at right now.

OMFG! ITS UP! ITS UP! I've been waiting for this for ages! *cheers* I was hoping you'd post soon, I was getting all antsy here waiting like... but now... I'm a happy ranter again!

I havent read it all yet but as soon as I do you know I'll reply. Just wanted to let you know I'm happy your back with this *tackle hugs*

~Rav :D

Edit: OMG! We've all got families! *puts jaw back in place* Wow... just... wow, I guess no one did waste any time in the aftermath of the crash huh? Haha Joe - bless his childlike exuberance too. Just one more kid to a great swag of them. Haha. Its good to see everyone's moved forward even if they are reflecting now 5 years on with a degree of sombreness and bittersweet memories. Mike with Jennifer was cute - he'd make an exceptional dad I reckon. But Rob at Talinda's headstone was sad though. Took me way back to when it all started and how happy they'd been before boarding that train... *sigh* Poor guy.

Just... so eagerly anticipating what dramatic twists you have in turn for the happy familes now! *muahahaha*

Oh man... this is gonna be good!

That was it. I just wanted to do the epilogue as a follow up as to how everyone moved on from the crash. Sorry if I got your hopes about continuing the story. I've got Secrets right now as the lead up to this story.
