so what would make it fact?

Gunner

The aim of untold millions is to be free to do exactly as they choose
and for someone else to pay when things go wrong.

In the past few decades, a peculiar and distinctive psychology
has emerged in England. Gone are the civility, sturdy independence,
and admirable stoicism that carried the English through the war years
.. It has been replaced by a constant whine of excuses, complaints,
and special pleading. The collapse of the British character has been
as swift and complete as the collapse of British power.

Well Ron once again you choose to ignore the fact that more technology
(and Amercian jobs) have been transferred to America's enemies by the
Bush Administration than under the previous Clinton
Administration....and that technology is being used against our
soldiers in Iraq now.

Republicans always place profits (their profits over the lives and
safety of Americans.

It's been a while since I was in the service, the F-16 Tomcats were being
deployed just before my enlistment was up. The Eisenhower was brand
spanking new, and the Stennis was just a dream on a planning table.

LOL...ever driven in rush hour?

With Texas passing the new gun law I expect their rush hours to be
much more interesting and deadly as road rage becomes "I was defending
myself from that 80 year old Grandma who cut me off....."

F-14 Tomcats, F-16 Falcons.

Ike was launched in 1975 (I was still in Southeast Asia) and commissioned in
1977 (I was in Europe then).

Yep, you're right. I told you its been a while. LOL! I was still mourning
the mothballing of the Vigilanti, those birds had class. Was a hell of a
spectical during a carrier launch too.

That's about right. It took a shakedown cruise and we crossdecked from the
Indy to the Ike in 1978, HS-5, I was a E-4, Aviation Electrician's Mate on
the old Seakings. If memory serves, the Stennis was commissioned around
the mid-1990's.

Wouldn't know. I've read a number of gun control studies with some saying
that relaxed gun control = lower gun crime, and some saying the opposite.
None of them address the root question though, and that would be why so many
people feel the need to arm themselves in the first place. I've lived in
Scotland, and some other places overseas that have an almost infitesimal
small amount of gun violence in comparison to the average U.S. area with the
same population. No one really wants to deal with why that is, or they
call you racist if you point out the obvious.

Historically the crime rate drops in states where gun control is
relaxed. Texans already carry guns all over the state, and there
hasn't been mass vaves of insane killings there. If availability of
legal firearms were a factor then NYC and Washington DC should be two
of the safest cities in the country, shouldn't they?

I've been on a carrier once, Gulf of Tonkin Yacht Club. We were hitching a
ride...

Carrier takeoffs and landings are definitely awesome. I've never seen it on
TV like it is in real life. The ship was rolling port-starboard and I was
upstairs so I got an excellent view. The pilot was actually rolling his
wings back and forth to match the ship's rolling so when he touched down he
landed PERFECT. US Navy have always been the best pilots on the planet.

Helicopter picked us up from a party we were having, just before we'd worn
out our welcome, and dropped us off on the Saratoga, which was on her way to
Subic Bay.

I remember afternoons hanging out with you airplane repair guys drinking
coffee in that gigantic garage...
