What paint? Comparing paint thread

So, this is the infamous paint thread i've heard so much about. I'm gonna chime in here.........Plastidip sucks i almost used it when ryan did his rims cuz it looked good at first but it is not even comparable to powder coat. Just look at Ryan's results after only like a month i think. Powdercoat on rims would be 10x's more durable than plastidip.
I don't get why you guys are arguing over it, he only posted his results and are you mad about it? I think it's helpful, cuz i won't use it now that i've seen how it holds up on wheels after some rides, powdercoating can't be beat.
Here we go again, another "friend"

Way to overdo the return lorne.

The "Imfamous" paint thread.... lol He must have a lot of friends off the internet.. Seems like over 20 different "friends" show up to back him up. He must cry like a little girl when he hangs out with them. At least enough to get them to get on the internet to defend his honor.

By the way.. The undercoating I used for my rear rims is holding up GREAT.... No nicks at all....

I agree with grrat. Or at least wait till ryno comes back otherwise why create drama about him even when he's gone. Just proves that he doesn't have to be around for there to be drama

Seems as if that forum has been over run with spam. Any way we could get the source code from that page and put it on our site?

PLASTIDIP FTW! you guys don't know **** about plastidip if you think it will hold up on wheels. why somebody would even attempt to paint their wheels with it is beyond me. it OTMTRX you came off like a douche in this thread, you must know somebody cuz you were in the wrong trying to be a badass.

Ummm.. that was my point.. not suitable for high wear area's like wheels...

Read the thread.. I explain why I was like I was with that guy... it was a culmination of stuff...

I used that Plasticoat on my rear hubs, only got two trips on them to the dunes so hard to say how it holds up. I do like the fact it's "rubbery" which means in certain places on the bike, it's less likely to chip than paint or PC. Don't think it would hold up to constant rubbing like on the frame though. I have my dirt nerfs PC's and have risen in some pretty rocky / stoney places and they are holding up surprisingly well.
hubs aren't gonna hold up much better. less likely to chip, but the **** tears right off, i think it's been explained already in this thread. the frame would be fine, but the wheels and hubs and any moving parts would not hold up. That stuff is no good unless you don't plan on it making contact with the elements.

your application was no better than the guy who put them on his rims. just look hat how well they held up. plastidip is not a good product for parts that come into contact with the elemtns. the bed liner or the under coat would probably hold up much better.

no i'm just trying to save the next guy from using a product that doesn't hold up. it has nothing to do with you....except that you are claiming it works on hubs and i'm telling you it's garbage

sure if you ride a few times a year, this stuff will hold up, but if you're a real rider and you ride ever weekend like us men do....it won't hold up.
