Why do people hate LP so much?

I've been wondering this for a long time, and I really just need to vent if that's okay. Really I don't know why I'm posting this, asking why people hate Linkin Park so much, which is dumb because I'm on a message board where everyone loves Linkin Park. Anway...I've been debating about where to put this thread and I guess I was right by putting in Linkin Park Central because it basically is about Linkin Park, but what I've really wanted to say...
I recently "discovered" Korn and how good they are, and when I went to the official Korn message board (where I am also Katey) I discovered that a lot of people hate Linkin Park! I had no idea how much, but people really hate them just because they're not "hard-core." That's really dumb, because first of all, they put bands like AFI, The Used, and Led Zeppelin, also not very hard core. But they only say "Ohh they're so not hard-core" things about Linkin Park, and I think it's because they think Linkin Park is trying to be. Linkin Park is not trying to be anything really except what they are. As a band I think Linkin Park is really misjudged and overlooked. If people actually listened to them, not as "just some rock band that's not hard-core", but as Linkin Park, I think more people would be fans. On a Slipknot forum, somebody put (under the worst bands thread); 'Linkin Park (Words cannot even describe my hate for these *******.)'. Woah. Intence. It makes me really mad and when that happens I really just want to start dissing that band!! Like on the Korn message board, somebody said that Linkin Park over uses their songs too much, like having Live In Texas, where they're the same songs except for there's "screaming idiots in the background." And "Reanimation" where they're just remixes. Okay, need I remind you that Korn just released a greatest hits album, in which I bought, that has THE SAME SONGS ON IT. Plus, with it comes a DVD, live at cbgb, which is again THE SAME SONGS, EXCEPT WITH SCREAMING IDIOTS IN THE BACKGROUND. I like Korn and in no way am trying to dis them or anything. Another thing I hate is when people think that LP sucks now just because they did a collaboration with Jay-z. Sure, we all know it wasn't the best, but LP didn't change. They're music is still the same, people! And they need to accept that there's other type of music in the world, and LP at least knows that. I wish people would stop seeing Linkin Park as "posers" or saying "oh yeah they did a collaboration with jay-z, now they're not cool." It totally bugs the heck out of me. LISTEN TO THE MUSIC PEOPLE!! Not liking the music, I can understand, (well not really since i love the **** out of it), but not liking lp because they're not hard core or because they did a collaboration with jay-z? That's just stupid.... :confused:

But I dont like theyre lyrics at all. Theyre BAD people, in my opinion.

They KNOW that they have a huge influence on teenagers and so to make extra money, they write songs encouraging teens to be miserable, whiny bastards. because thats what sells.

And all of thier little cult followers think "oh theyre so wonderful, they understand how I feel!"

No, they dont. Theyre rich, succesful, men in thier mid 20s-30s.

They dont give a *** about thier fans, (if they did they would quit writing angsty swil and encourage kids to be happy and except lifes ups and downs)

The truth is, as long as teens stay miserable, they stay rich. Thats all there is to it.

As for myself, I like The Red Hot Chilly Peppers, The White Stripes, and A perfect Cirlce is very awesome too.

^^That ****** me off so much because she doesn't even have the right info!! BAD PEOPLE?? Can anybody say *MUSIC FOR RELIEF??* And Linkin Park is one of the most down to earth bands as far as fans go. Anything else for that matter too. Now I wanna go register on that message board and tell that ******* off!!

.........that is all even though that might make sense because this topic kinda reminded me of school to day so sry if u r like "wtf that dosne't fit"......

Why create more problems then there already are?

Why not just leave it be and ignore them and let them have their own views..nothing you say will change their mind so why ***** at them?So they are stupid..just leave it at that and be the better person and don't say anything..just accept what they say and drop it..

We had the same problem on the Korn boards when Head left. All these born again Christians decided to join up, just to tell us we were all Satan worshippers, and that Jonathan was leading us all to ****. It was all out war over there for a while.

i can see where everyone is comming from. but to say that Linkin Park is bad just cuz they aint hard core is wrong. I love bands like NOFX, Rancid, and Good Charlotte. I love bands like LP and Korn. But with the GC fans that hate the LP boys, well i got some news for them, Billy Martin the guitarest of Good Charlotte actualy likes Linkin Park. in one of the GC vids, I think its Festivle song, but you can see both Brad and Chester. Hmmm dosent that mean that the two bands are friends? if you think about it, if the two bands are friends then maybe they would want their fans to be friends too? it just makes me mad when people are always trying to say something about someone. Its like my brother always says, If you can't say something nice, then shut the **** up. but you know there are always gonna be people trying to start something.

That's true. For all the Korn fans that hate LP, they seem to forget that Jonathan is on the remix for 1 Stp Kloser. And that Chester is returning the favour on Korn's new 'Kovers' album, by singing on a cover of NIN's "Head Like A Hole".

I agree. You're stooping way down to their level if you start making random accounts to flame other forums because they don't share the same music tastes as we do here. It's pretty childish, immature and annoying. Let's try and stay the bigger and better people here =)

I discovered that not many people like them either, in the rock chatrooms, in the metal ones, in the rap ones. It really gets on my nerves when they don't even give a valid reason. it's just "Oh, stinkin park are a bunch of faggots".... Uhh yeah, that's why half the band have gfs and 2 of them are married o_0 *It is 2 right? Mike and Chester?* Don't let it get to you though =D

I'm not a fan of Korn or heard any of their music so I wouldn't know =) People always say LP aren't hardcore enough, they're too soft etc. Maybe we like that. Not all good music has to be some heavy trashy music with a lot of noise.

Other peoples opinions doesn't matter. They're obviously missing out on the good stuff, and if they can't see Linkin Park for their brilliant music, what can we do about it =P We saw it all and that's why we're all here ^.^ Heh, let them go on, they're all deprived children =P.

The comments that they make about Linkin Park are horrible though. People are just hypocritical when they start flying these pathetic insults about. We all know better.

LOL Good Charlotte and Avril Lavigene are so fake its hallarious and they call Linkin Park fakes...... Those 2 artists mentioned above are more pop then anything :p

Many people are followers, especially when it comes to music and fashion trends. If people start getting the impression that a band is looked down upon, then they say that they don't like that band just to fit in (even if they really like the band). If they see certain bands that seem cool to listen to (Bob Marley, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Sublime for example), then they say they listen to those bands to fit in. People try to mold to what they think will make them look cool. Seems like this kind of thing is going on with many of you who hear a lot of ppl talking trash about LP. If it makes you feel any better, I haven't met anyone who hates LP around my area... In fact, in the past couple weeks, I've heard them blasting in 3 different cars at my college. I hear it all over the place, and everyone I talk to around here loves em. You should move to southern california. =]

What it boils down to is caring what other people think. If you like certain bands, thats Awesome... listen to it. Most people just try to follow the trends to fit in.. and to many people LP seems like its old hat/outdated. Don't give in to the trends, listen to what you like and try not to worry about what others think about it. There are plenty of people out there who think LP is just as cool as you do.

I haven't met anyone who has full on hated LP (lol they wouldn't be living if they dissed lp infront of me) but yeah all the ppl who do are just retards who are jealous.
