Tonz;583354'] America invaded iraq+afghanistan and are still occupying' date='[/quote']If you think America should just straight up leave you are not as well knowing as you think. Neither one has had a government step up to the plate and if America left now it would be anarchy. That and the fact. The United States is trying to combat Iran who would take over Iraq if the U.S. left. You are ignorant if you don't realize the war in Iraq has turned to a proxy war against Iran the last few years.

Well, with the footstep fireworks they specifically said in the brodcast that they were CGI... so that I dont care about since I wasnt decieved.... but with the little girl... come on... did they really need to pull an ashlee simpson? :p

Guess where i am. ;] My hometown of Beijing.

I saw a volleyball match like day before yesterday. The atmosphere was amazing. I also have tickets for a track and field event in the Bird nest and the Water Cube (water ballet I think? xD lol) I'm like watching TV everyday with no time difference. It's great. :D

I thought the opening ceremony was awesome. The cultural atmosphere was so thick. I dunno if ppl who're not familiar w/ the chinese culture would really understand it and appreciate it but I loved it.

lol the broadcasted footsteps were cgi xD i knew it.

But the girl.. -_- **** i actually thought she was great.

I suppose they do look young but I think the media's just making bull out of things. For gymnastics they purposely pick girls who are small so they're more agile.

firehawk, i wasnt talking about the iraq+afgan thing specifically, im not "ignorant", i was only stating that countries OTHER than china have done bad things too, since everyone seems hellbent on "anti-china-protesting-olympics" thing, i was stating that other nations are hardly clean in terms of their human attrocity rates, read the post, dont pick out ONE statement to suit your purposes

well woody, i dont think theyre flat, most of those women wear VERY figure hugging suits(swimmers i believe take 20-30 mins to get into one of those slimline suits), and lets just say ***** dont get much room underneath those lycra/synthetic matieraled suits, in real life they are alot more well endowned then what it seems on tv

and i dont think age is a problem? australia's melissa wu is only a teen, same with swimmer emily seabohm, theyre like 15-16, and to get to the olympics they woulda had to have competed beforehand to qualify, tis hardly a problem

if you are good enough, you are old enough i say

I've been watching the olympics mainly because I'm a Phelps fan and mostly because thats all thats on at work. I have to say though watching it makes me wonder if the asians are bred for small-ish-ness. I can't say much because I'm an asian myself but still. I also have to say that I find myself rooting for other countries other then my own. Like for soccer and other events other then the men's swimming where Phelps is compeating, I go for france mainly because it the culture I'm most familiar with. most people at work get on me about it but honestly the US's team sucks at most events. Of coures im going to root for the asian teams when it comes to events like Gymnastics and martial arts, thats what they were bred for lol. but got into an interesting debate on whether or not water polo was a sport. what do yall think?

And they all have no ***** at all/flat chested (even the older athletes). One thing I've noticed.
Actually not true. Look at Australian Sally McLellan ;)

Go the Aussies.

I am actually far more into the Olympics this year than I think I have ever been. I am enjoying it more - probably because I have time to appreciate it now around work etc. I really enjoy the gymnastics, the swimming and athletics - even when we (Australia) aren't competing. I really enjoy watching Phelps, what a honey (what a rippling specimen), and the host country on the floor, wow, mind blowing. Usain Bolt - what can one say? I find myself practically yelling at the screen when he races on why he feels the need to slow down towards the end - I'm like WTF?! He's amazing to watch.

I have to say the new judging 'tie break' system needs to be addressed yet again. It's confusing as all ****, and after the dramas last night after Pavlova etc - and the fact I think the second Chinese competitor performed better than her team mate and somehow still didn't win gold - I think stinks. Oh and the men on rings wow... such strength!

Yeah - loving it. Am wasting my days off just watching TV rather than do anything else (like write). It is a good games so far I think though. Yeah, good show :eek:k:

channel 7 just killed the olympics

SBS olympics coverage F.T.W.

i think gordon bray was commentating the table tennis, that was awesome

Phelps is freaky. Usain Bolt is a mammoth of a man, runs fast too

and the table tennis is so exciting to watch lol

Ive lost my faith in this years olympics... at least the judged events anyway.

The gymnastics tonight were the final straw. That 13, oh Im sorry, "16" year old Chinese girl and Nastia Liukin (US) tied on the uneven bars... but instead of having them duke it out for the gold, they simply go to some crappy tiebreaking process which makes absolutely no sense and give the gold to the Chinese girl. How lame can you get? First of all Liukin's performace was equally as hard, but had less faults, so the fact that she even tied the 13...err..."16" yr old at all is complete BS. Then the tiebreaking process screws Liukin out of the Gold which she deserved. Any other event and they probably would have given them both gold... but no, gymnastics had to be stupid about it.

Do I think its rigged? Oh its possible, though very unlikely... but considering how much the Chinese have decieved us already its not hard to imagine. And the one thing Ive definetly noticed is that its not fair... however I guess thats what happens when you have events that arent timed (swimming), arent measured (discus), or dont have a simple score (soccer). Events where the judging is completely subjective and possibly biased.

Ill still watch these judged events... its definetly entertaining, but I can no longer sit there and go, 'well, the best person/team won, they deserved it' because that wouldent always be true.

Ok, Im really tired and thus Im just ranting. So if this makes no sense or whatever, thats why. :p
