Falling dollar.. Good or bad?

Housing markets being artificially inflated is part of what got us in this problem. Peoples houses all of a sudden became worth far less than what they owed, even after years of making payments.
Now we must strip and bulldoze these houses, because their scrap is worth twice the deflated value.

If you listen to the news, most of the people who are foreclosed on strip the houses of anything that's worth anything when they leave. Including plumbing fixtures and lights.

Well, the stock market is still plunging. My guess is that the people who get hurt the worst will be those people who make their own trades (amateurs) and panic selling now. The professionals will be buying up those cheap stocks and holding on to what they have until the market improves. When the market goes back up, those amateurs will be back in and make the professionals and their clients rich(er).

The Europeans are having some of the same problems. Their problem is that the EU really has no comprehensive plan (or even the ability) to do anything about these events.

But that's just my opinion.

Big problems with the economy and the Dollar is getting stronger against the Euro. Whoda thunk it. Oil is down to the mid-$80's. Maybe I can afford to send my wife back to Turkey for a vacation and to take care of some personal business.

I see it shaved that loss quite a bit.. no rhyme or reason.. panic selling. I think you're right Salt.. Some people have no choice but to sell, and the vultures are waiting..

I would burn this muthafukka down before I let the bank foreclose on my house.

By CHRISTINA HOAG, Associated Press Writer

LOS ANGELES - An unemployed man with an advanced finance degree who was despondent over his own financial problems shot and killed his wife, three children, mother-in-law and then himself in an upscale home in a gated community, police said Monday.

Officers found the bodies Monday morning after the wife failed to show up at a neighbor's home to go to work, Deputy Chief Michel Moore said. The deaths occurred sometime after Saturday evening.

People losing lots of jobs too.. lots of jobs. Housing prices need to fall to be afforded by about 13 - 15 bucks an hour for the average place.

Hearing some disturbing rumors about troops training for "civil unrest"... and about a lot of military aircraft flying in and out of Minneapolis/St. Paul international lately at odd hours.. Some troops that were suppose to go to Iraq are staying and training apparently... Nice. Marshall Law?

It must be the National Guard, wez. US military is banned from participating in actions inside the US (and no, stationing them on the border for border security is not banned - after all, they're supposed to be ensuring the security of the country). National Guard can be used for riot control and things like that. I'm not sure if any governor would relish using them for that after Kent State.

Seems to me they are part of the US military.. Still don't like the sound of it.. Strange smell in the air these days.. Seems our country is being looted.

National Guard IS part of the military when called up to national service. Is the Minnesotta NG getting ready for call-up? If so, they may be training. There's an Army Guard and an Air {Force} Guard. The Army Guard has helicopters and some fixed wing A/C, so that may explain the air traffic.

Not sure.. just heard some troops have had to go to training for "civil unrest" and are no longer going to Iraq.. Here in MN and in California.. Heard it on talk radio this morn.. Some conservative station that has Rush and Hannity everyday.. It was a morning show with a local guy, who is a riot, and pretty **** smart.. and he said a reliable source he knew in the military gave him the info.. and a couple people from near the airport called in about the unusual activity while I was listening..
