So do I and I'm not even American! o_0

It's FRIday!

You know Fri, at school we used to have this thing called 'Happy Friday'. It was a way of our form tutor trying to make us more well behaved, she used to give us lollipops on Fridays! :D

I was actually working...lol

so yeah...no lollipops or parties for me on fridays, I'll be working all friday nights this winter...heh

I used to wonder how people could make long long long songs...

but now I know.

me and my mate had a band practise...rehearsed quite a few covers, and then went into an original song at the end of practise. and if my timing isn't severely off, that original song is about 18 minutes long...haha wow

and I think you can actually divide it into movements. not that we're very symphonic, *****

basically it's the weirdest song ever...there's a glockenspiel/triangle part, and then there's a part that sounds like something traditional icelandic however arranged differently and then there's other parts...shiiii

now...if anyone knows any fun songs, I'd consider playing them, so suggest away :D

a few songs we might play:

beatles - ticket to ride

death cab - soul meets body

ff - take me out

rhcp - californication

arctic monkeys - love machine

mogwai - hunted by a freak

johnny cash - hurt

sigur rós - vaka, popplagið, flugufrelsarinn

dionysos - coccinelle

and then there's two really easy songs we used to play almost every practise

smells like teen spirit

metallica - for whom the bell tolls

oh and I've been thinking about buying a violin, or a cello, in light of my longing to experiment :D

and more experiments...there's a small chance the two of us will be a part of a muse cover band...haha we'll see how that goes

sorry that I only talk about music...lol

it's the only thing I really know

and i think you should play that song, by the german guy that amedaus song, i cant remember his name but everyone knows that song, it would be fun. its rock me amadues by falco. hahah, you must do it!! plseease!!

I dunno about that khim...if I can afford that rare thing...

but yeah...if we were to make that muse band, I got dibs on playing drums haha

and well I can't really top that sheffield accent of the AM singing it...lol

what amadeus song are you talking about sygy?

okay this place has been quite dead lately

um...my school has broken up for winter break now

so I don't have school til next tuesday

not gonna do anything special really...might go for a while up to a cottage with the fam...or if I get free tickets to Iceland - Latvia I'll go spec that instead lol

my mate's going to Paris for winter break, as part of the course FRE 433 or something...

in spanish you can also go on some trip to Spain, but in the language I took, German, you can't go ****...

we complained about there being no Berlin course or something, but so far nothing's been done.

now...I signed a petition though to get Polish 103 at my school next semester lol

Polish is complicated as **** but I'd like to try it :p

and there was fog here this morning. it was so nice. I really miss the fog from the fjord where I lived...

so this morning seemed so quiet and peaceful unlike the chaotic usual morning in the traffic and all

and I wrote a poem about it just now earlier...might post that here

I went to see Sigur Rós's movie, Heima, the other day, it was so great... :D

the music is spectacular, so is the footage, and Sigur rós and amiina have fun members lol

the interviews were funny, with the stories and also how they speak english with their thick accents

been watching the amazing mrs pritchard...quite funny and quite a good poke at the rigid world of politics. it's this british show about a store manager that wants to make a point by running for office but gets elected PM...lol

I'm dead stressed about this poetry essay that I have to do...I have to write 6-8 pages about a specific topic in a poetry book...

and I chose to write about time, in a book called Klink, which means change or coins (as in small money)

gahhhh

and I really can't stand how time flies and how short it is til I never set foot in my current school again...

oh and I quit my job. working my last shift tomorrow lol. I finally did it and quit...been working there for two and a half years...far too long

no way Jos, German is way cooler than French.. Spanish is ok, but i'm kinda sick of it cause it seems like portuguese, so i still prefer german! i wish i can talk german...

Urghh poetry essays, I'm so glad I never have to do one of those again lol.

Congrats on quitting your job.. now you can be a hermit 24/7! :p
