Statement of opinion I would say, probably taken as meddling to the corrupt people in government in Iran.

You can thank Carter for the corrupt Iranian government officials thinking that the US is meddling in their affairs.

It's justifiable for Obama to say something now after all that has transpired. He's still not accusatory saying that they rigged the election because he has no proof of that. But he does have proof on the bad way they are handling the situation and protests. It also involves the US now because a lot of Iranian-Americans are protesting here.

And I commend him for voicing his opinion on the matter... sort of...

I give Obama some credit for showing some support for these people in Iran but I can't get past his need to wait for the opinion polls to come out before he takes a stand on an important issue.

Sometimes leadership is not popular.

People being shot in the street for daring to question the election seems to me an easy call on the human side of the issue even if he wanted to keep his distance on the political side.

I have said all along that Iran will never behave, Obama was called nieve by his own vice-President and his Secretary of State while he was running for office, maybe they were onto something?

Do you think it is slightly telling when all of them 'BEAT' us to speak against human rights problems?

Leadership is stepping up and getting behind the right thing, if someone has to tell you what the right thing is or if to you the only right thing is whatever is popular, then to me that shows a severe lack of leadership.........but that is just me.
