ok sorry for making you guys wait but here we have another part

"What do you mean she wasnt in school?"

"She said she and dad were getting setteled in with Uncle dave untill Dad could find a place of his own."

Rav was at the point of almost ripping her hair out.

"Mel wouldnt skive off classes unless she was litterally dying."

"Dont say that sara."

Rav said sternly trying to keep her wits about her as she dialed Rob's cell number on the phone.

"What Rav?"

Rob's irritated voice came over the ear piece.

* at Daves*

Rob handed his daughter another ice pack as she placed it painfully on her shoulders. Her whole body ached like one big bruise.

"We need to call your mum to tell her your ok."

Then in an instant Rob's cell phone went off with their home number blinking on the screen.

"Its scary how she does that."

Rob remarked as he answered the phone irritatedly.

"What Rav?"

"Why wasnt mel in school today?"

"Look she could barely move from the playing she did last night. She had a well deserved break."

"Her grades are more important then some stupid break."

"She's doing just fine in school the last time I checked. Missing one day wont set her back to failure."

"I dont care, nothings more important then grades. How could you be so irresponsible?"

"You talk about me pushing her too hard, are you even listening to what you say? Atleast when I have her go through the drum routines she enjoies it."

"Dont you dare talk about her like you know her!"

"I **** well know her, she's my own daughter just like Fribby's my son and sara's my other daughter."

"Ok and Fox means nothing to you?"

"Dont you bring my children into this! You said when I asked you to marry me that you understood what My hetic lifestyle would be like, or was that just a lie?"

"I had no choice, I didnt want to have my children to grow up with out a father even though they seemed to do that any ways."

"In other words you didnt even love me to begin with."

"That's not ******* true robert and you know it."

"Mel and I will be by on saturday to pick up our stuff. By Ravynlee."

Rob said bitterly. He sighed and then sank down on the bed dejectedly.

"Daddy, I'm sorry about breaking up you and mum."

Rob ruffeled his daughters hair.

"Its not your fault Mel, if anything you and you brother and sisters kept me and your mum together longer."

"If you get a divorce, can I live with you?"

"We'll see. I dont know if its the best idea for you to live with me when I'm going to be on the road."

"I can take my classes on the internet if I have to."

Mel said determined to get her dad to say yes.

"What about your martial arts?"

"Master says I'm at a level that I could teach classes if I wanted to."

Rob smiled.

"Well it looks like you have your ideas already planned out dont ya? But I dont even know if we're gonna get a divorce or if we can work this out some how."

"I hope you and mum work it out."

 *awww* I feel so bad for everyone in this version... man... *hangs head* Poor buggers. The family is on the verge of breaking up - and the scary thing is it sounds like it could have been taken straight from real life.

I love the emotional intensity in this. The fact they're all so determined and set to their courses so to speak, like we do in times of stress. I like Rob's reflection (calling me by my 'full' name - that's a first! XD) and even the way Mel's almost bending over backwards to stay with her dad.

I also like the things you didn't really elaborate on - perhaps they made the most impact; Fox not seeming to count to Rob despite being a father figure showing their strained relationship without even having to go into detail, their marriage almost seeming like a sham to him to begin with *sob* Man...

Very well written. Of course. Deep. You oughta be proud. *wink*

As always, can't wait for more.

If I had my way I'd be paying you (Fox and Woody) to write these all day everyday til y'all pass out from exhaustion or something... sweet!

*hugs*

Mel saw Fox in Math on Friday.

"Fox, I need your help."

She whispered. Fox raised her eyebrow. Mel almost never asked for her help.

"What's up?"

"Can you get Fribby and Sara outta the house tomorrow around Lunch time?"

"What are you plotting, I want in."

Mel quietly explained her plan to Fox. She grinned widely. She liked this idea. Fribby and Sara were worried about the evil looks on Mel and Fox's faces.

"I think they're conspiring against us."

Sara said. Fribby turned his head away and didnt say anything. He was still ****** about the phone call.

"It cant be any worse then when she glued your hands to Mel's ***. You smelled like turpentine the whole month."

Fribby's hands still hurt from the painful memory. Fribby's eyes scanned the lunch room to see Mel, St Jimmy, Fox, and Matt bent over a table in a corner where they wouldnt be overheard.

"Man, now St Jimmy and Fox are in on it too. that cant be good."

Sara said as she went over. Fribby sat and waited for her return. Sara got sucked into the group plot. Fribby frowned as he went over there to rescue Sara.

"....I was thinking more along the lines of the penny trick. That one works awesome."

"......wiring it should be easy."

".......go with some ductape and motor oil."

".......Matt we want to get them alone, not tape em to a tree."

".......whats this we stuff? gotta mouse in your pocket? It was your idea in the first place."

"What in seven hells are you plotting?"

Fribby said breaking up the arguments. Mel scooted over to let Fribby sit down.

"I have an idea about how to get mum and daddy to work things out."

"Deal me in."

Fribby said as he leaned forward intrestedly.

*saturday*

"Mum, dad I need your help getting something down from the closet."

Fox said innocently as they both went to help her. It was a very tense time. Rob and Rav were almost at each others throats. They both walked into the closet under the stairs and fribby and mel crept up behind them. At the same time, they knocked them both into the Closet and shut the door. Sara quickly slid the pennies in the crack between the door frame and the door. The handle jiggeled.

"This isnt funny!"

Rob shouted and pounded on the door.

"You four are so grounded when we get out of here."

Rav shouted as well. They all looked at each other with satisfied glances.

"Untill you two either pound the door down and spend hundereds of dollars replacing it..."

"or you work out your problems, we're not letting you out."

Mel said finishing Saras sentence.

"We mean everything has to be in the open and all."

Rob sat down on a pile of boxes as their kids started shouting at them telling them that they wouldnt be allowed out.

"Well the doors not locked They probably ductaped ti together."

Rav said.

"Nope the cracks from the door is letting in light."

Rob said shaking his head.

"Well i guess we're gonna have to work this out since I dont want to replace another door."

Rob raised an eyebrow at his much smaller wife.

"fine, well for starters while we're her, Fox isnt your daughter."

"What the ******* ****? What do you mean by that?"

Rob screeched.

"She's Chesters."

"You ******* slept with my *** damned best friend?!"

"Well if you were ever home I wouldnt have considered it."

Rob slapped Rav right there. She quickly recovered from being stunned and slammed her head into his stomache. The fighting went on like that for a few minutes before they stopped.

"You hit like a girl."

Rav said as she tried to catch her breath.

"And your heads about like a bulls."

Rob said clutching his stomach. There was momentairy silence in the closet.

"I'm sorry about not telling you sooner about Chester and Fox."

"I cant begin to tell you how ****** I am at it but I'm glad you finally told me."

There was more silence.

"We should try hard to make this work for the kids."

"I guess your right."

The door opened as mel held a penny in her hand.

"How did you get the door to stick like that?"

Rob asked as he and Rav stepped out of the closet.

"A little trick Uncle Mike taught me when Uncle joe was on a sugar rush."

"So can you two get along and play nicely?"

Fribby asked as He stared down both of his parents.

"For you guys I guess."

I learned that from my dad. if you slide a penny into the crack, the door dosent open unless you have a screw driver to take the hengies off. n_n

Funny. Mind you - if he actually did respond like that

Rob slapped Rav right there.
I can tell you right now I'd be doing more than headbutting the guy... the kids would be opening the closet to two very bloodied and battered parents, that's for sure *evil smirk*

But having said that, nice work. The conspiring was classic. Very visual.

It's almost like a mini happy-ending anyway, right? *shrugs*

But I understand about RL. It should come first (theoretically), so like Viking said, take all the time you need. I know for a fact how busy you are, and I'm still awed in how you manage to pull it off. Wish I could.

But y'all take it easy. And if/when you feel like updating we'll be here.

*hugs*

Great work, as always.

after your long and boring wait. here is the next part

Fribby and Mel congradulated each other as they stood in their room.

"I'm glad that's over with for now."

"By the way...."

Fribby said as he tapped his chin with his finger.

"St Jimmy wanted me to give you this."

Fribby pulled out a white bear with little red kisses all over it. Mel smirked in a way that strongly reminded Fribby of their dad.

Fox sulked around in her room. Maybe if Rob and Rav had split then she would have been allowed to go and live with chester. Why did she even help Mel to begin with? All Mel ever did was look out for her dad and her self and most of the time didnt care about her so why bother with helping her keep rob? Fox flopped down on her bed as the family dog padded into the room and gave Fox a meaningful look. Fox couldnt help but smile at the dog.

"Aww come on up flea."

The dog complied and laid down on top of Fox.

The next efw days seemed to be filled with tension and high strung energy making it almost impossiable for Mel to breathe. Almost like the calm before the storm. Mel was feeling as if she was burning out between school work, sports practice and martial arts. If only she could find a way just to add some hours to the day. Her arms were sore from drum practice that she couldnt lift them up over her head. Mel stuffed a bunch of stuff into her bag and a bunch of sports gear. She made to grab her skateboard, then Rav appeared in the door frame holding the phone.

"Its Jimmy, do you wanna talk to him."

"I cant talk now mum, I have practice, then martial arts and then I have to meet Jonathan for the demo thats next week."

Mel said as she seemed out of breath. Rav frowned and told Jimmy that mel would call him back.

"Hun, I want to talk to you about all this stuff. You're wearing your self out with it. Your grades are slipping."

Mel hung her head as her mum pushed her back down on the bed so they could talk.

"I'm sorry. I just dont have time to do anything."

"Maybe we should work something out."

Rav said as she sat down with mel.

"Its just Coach is pressuring me because we have a big game tomorrow and he lectured me because I skived off practice twice to do homework and study for our tests that we had yesterday."

Rav frowned as she noticed for the first time that a bit of her daughters collarbone was a deep purple.

"Well I guess your gonna have to just talk to him about it. But first, take your shirt off."

Mel was suprised, but complied. Rav gasped to see that the bruise extended from her collar bone down to the bottom of her rib cage.

"Hun when did this happen?"

"Its nothing mum."

"What happened."

Rav insisted. Mel sighed seeing there was no way she was gonna get out of it.

"Ryan body checked me in the glass for no reason."

"Well your just gonna have to miss practices for today, I'm taking you to teh doctor, I want to make sure nothings broken."

There was a groan.

"But mom...."

"No butts, lets get going."

Mel reluctantly got up and followed her mom, grabbing a book knowing that it would be a while at the doctors office.

All was quiet in the house as Fribby came in from working early. Fox just slumped in the chair watching cartoons since they had saturday free.

"Where's mum fox?"

"She took Mel to the doctor."

Fribby felt a surge of worry about his little sister.

"What about dad?"

"How the **** am I suposed to know? My name dosent translate into GPS."

She snapped. Fribby sighed as he went to the kitchen to rummage for something to eat. Fox was in one of her moods again. Fribby went upstairs to find his dad trying to put a ceiling fan in Sara and Fox's room.

"Hey fribby, you wanna give me a hand?"

Rob mumbeled as he tried to lift the base of the fan up on the ladder.

"Sure dad."

Fribby said as he almost smiled. Maybe things were turning around. just maybe.

Man, that was great - very real, very human. I'm glad you've decided (or found the time?) to pick this up again... and like Viking I'm looking forward to seeing where you take this.

Considering that for all the kids' collective hard-work and conspiring to get the parents back together and sensing the tension in the house anyway we know the sh*t's about to hit the proverbial fan again (nice analogy considering that's what Rob's installing at the end of the update *laughs*) so it's not gonna be all sunshine and roses etc... ew, shivering with anticipation all over again!

Can't wait for more.

I was reading through From The Inside last night and It got me thinking about what I wanted as another chapter for this story so here it is. Also rav helpd me with some stuff in it too so theres credit where its due

Rob's ears almost perked up as the garage door opened and the door to the kitchen creaked. A tired Rav with an extreamly cross Mel came into the kitchen.

"That's it no more hockey for you. Your coach is being a jack ***."

Rav said to her daughter. Mel shrugged it off as if she wasnt exactly dissapointed by the news. Mel winced as she made to move her arms up. Rob frowned.

"What happened to you?"

Mel shot her mom an icy glare as she shrugged painfully.

"Ryan Checked me into the boards in hockey yesterday and mom flipped out. I swear I'm fine. I'd know if anything was broken. I can still play the drums so that proves it."

Mel said heatedly as she grabed her dad's large ice pack and laid down on the living room floor with it covering her chest. Rob crouched down towards her and Handed her a towel to put under the ice pack.

"Jesus Mel, what the ****?"

Rob said as he saw her upper body. Rob raised an eyebrow as he looked at her left arm that was bandaged up as well.

"Its nothing, I told you I'm fine."

She said as she winced while moving her left arm to pick up the ice pack and put the towel under it.

"Yeah and the fact that almost half your body and your arm is bruised out to the seventh circle of **** is just a nice consolation prize."

"That pretty much covers it."

Mel said as she let out a sigh.

"Oh and by the way, a package came for you through the mail."

Mel nodded as Rob pointed to the large brown box on the table. She was exhausted and felt as if her arms were gonna fall off. Rob smiled as he ruffeled her hair.

"I know exactly what to do to make you feel better."

Rob dissapeared up stairs and then ten minutes later came down with an ice chest big enough to burry a body in.Rav gave a questioning look. Mel once again shrugged her shoulders painfully.

Fribby finished helping Rob put the new fan in and headed into his room to grab his bag for work. He heard the garage door open and the creaky door to the kitchen swing open. He smiled knowing that Mel and Rav were finally back from the doctors office. Fribby ran down the stairs, hoping he could get to the gym before it got dark out. He froze as he saw his sister.

"Keep moving fribby, Its nothing."

Fribby complied, making a mental note to bug her about the huge bruises later.

"Mel can I borrow your bike?"

"Go ahead."

He went down into the garage and saw his dad loading up ice in the big cooler that they once stuffed Brad in as a joke.

"Dad whats that for?"

"Your sister. This is a little trick I learned a while back from your grandmother. Where are you headed off to?"

"The gym."

Fribby said as he kicked up the stand to Mel's bike and peddeled off.

Mel was sitting upstairs in the huge ice chest that her dad had, filled with the combination of almost scalding hot water and ice cubes. But her dad was right, it did help her muscles. She was sitting in the middle of her room starring at a picture of her and the whole LP family from a thanks giving from when they were younger.

*flashback*

Mel was about ten years old and daddy's band was there for thanksgiving. Rav had served them their food as they sat with Draven who was a little younger then they were at the time. When they started eating, it was quiet and there was no sound except the sound of clattering forks and knives. She looked at her twin who was almost knee deep in mashed potatoes and gravy. Suddenly there was a beating out a rythem using a fork and knife. Squealing, Mel followed her fathers lead, mimicking her dads beat. Her brother grinned as he joined in with them, sara then started too. The whole table looked up and rav sighed and held her head in her hands. The whole table started laughing as Fox joined in and threw dressing everywhere from her fork.

*end flashaback*

Rob knocked on the door and opened it up to see Sara helping nurse her sister.

"What do you guys think about going on a road trip this weekend as a family?"

"That would be nice..."

Sara said distractedly as she helped wrap the bandage around Mel's chest.

"We have a four day weekend any ways."

Mel said. She groaned as she stood up. Rob smiled at his two daughters.

"Dad, where are we going again?"

"Seattle."

Rob answered Fribby as he kept a watchful eye on his herd. Mel was playing Halo against Mike and Phoenix in the back, Fox was talking with chester and Sara was asleep as always.

"Since Aberdeen is a little ways out of seattle do you think we could go see where Kurt cobain lived?"

"We'll see. Not tonight though. We have a show."

Fribby nodded as he turned his gaze out the window. He then smirked. He had an idea. They pulled into the parking lot of the arena they were suposed to play in. Fribby gathered his sibblings and pulled them aside as the concert was being set up

"Rob, I cant find the kids!"

Rav said franticaly as she searched the huge mass of crowds.

"Dont worry rav, If I know mel she's porbably out there waiting for us to play and so are the rest of the kids. Calm down and enjoy the show."

Rob said as he kissed his wife. Rob then hurried off to the pre-show huddle. He raised an eyebrow as he heard waves of laughter from the audience.

"Chaz, did you come up with something funny for the stage?"

a bewildered Mike asked. Chester shook his head.

"Not this time."

He muttered as they went out on stage. The other guys started laughing as they saw what was on stage. Rob even chuckeled a bit. His kids were sitting on the stage on lawn chairs, Mel was skateboarding despite her injuries, Fox and Fribby were fishing in a large bucket and sara was laying in a recumbent position with a silver screen trying to get a tan. Chuckeling, Mike grabbed his mic and started laughing.

"And I thought we were a bunch of pranksters. Rob your kids are nuts."

"Ahh well its from hanging around you, a bad apple spoils the bunch mike."

Rob shouted from his drum riser. The crowd continued to laugh as Joe started into the first song forward.
