GoPro is allowing us to buy their cameras with a 30% discount!!!! This does exclude the new white series. If you want one please let me know. I am still waiting to hear from a Honda Dealership whether they are going to sponsor us.

So I have meet a guy that races both the 1000 and 500. His team races class 24. We have been talking about the race and he is sharing his insights. I will go more into detail when I have more time. I just wanted to bring one thing up and get all your thoughts. He has suggested switching riders as often as possible. 125 miles is quite a ways at one time and our bodies are going to fatigue. His suggestion for example is: Mamito to start and go to Ojos Negros (45 miles). Switch riders and the next section be race mile 45 - 75. We could still arrange it so we all do parts of the sections we would be strongest at. Example Vasilios mountain section.

Personally I think this will allow us to compete better!

What do you guys think about doing something like this??

its a good idea.. the only problem that i see with this is that we all need to learn all the access roads to the course so we can get to everypart as soon as possible. that i can take care off at nigth .. but it would be nice if we get to Ensenada friday and use saturday to learn all the courses entry points..

again im off since friday.. and i can leave as soon as vasilios and stinky get home..

but its a good idea.. and it looks like we could do the sportman class and not worry about running a shorter course. this 1000 the bike commity told RN that it should be safe for quads and bikes to do the entire course... so thats a plus... check the 14min video on the fb page... its exiting...

and we could defenetly do this, switching riders often.. that can defenetly work..but WE NEED GOOD COMMUNICATION. because if some one its late or something we screw the rider...

another question:

hey guys since it looks like this is a serious for all of us.

you guys want me to make the official intro thread for the Zorros Racing Baja 500, 2014...

let me know...

also for the GPS we should get the trailtech(but since Vasilios is buying it, its up to him) and we can get this base..

http://www.crfsonly.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/4261

here some pics of nice bases..

I would say yes, go ahead and start the official thread.

I think that we have enough time to to figure everything out as far as making sure we have good communication and switching riders more often.

As I get more info from my friend I will put something together showing where we switch riders and then when we get there we can check all the access rode's.

last time I talked with you (mamito) it sounded like Bill and Chris were going to pick you up and you guys planned on arriving in Ensenada Saturday. That is my plan too. It is far enough out I think I could make it work to leave here Friday.

As far as the hotel goes. I say as long as they have security to watch our stuff, I am down for staying where ever you choose. Just make sure there is a fish taco stand not too far away!! LOL

dont worry about the taco stand i got that wayy to covered.. youll love me for them..

and yes if we all get there on friday i would love to check roads on saturday and then prerun start on sunday. since we got 4 days for prerunning. we can split them in 2 rider and learn the first 250 miles and then later the other 250.. and we can see where we can swap riders... one of my friends he'll help figuring good spots for swaping riders. so that makes more sence but then again we need to ensure we keep it on the spot so we dont loose a rider and overshot the exchange point, like it happened to the 1000 team back in 2011. that miss cost 6hrs of race time..

yes they are going to pass by my place and all are going down.. i eventually going to get another room for my family and friends.. so well have bills truck, mine, yours and maybe my wifes jeep + my friends jeep which is lifted and offroad ready.. the only thing is that we dont have suficient radios.. just 2 for trucks and 4 for riders..

man i cant wait to see all of us in uniform , looking sick...

man i cant wait to see all of. I'm down with however you would like to switch out riders. My buddy is coming with me and he will run a chase truck, both of us are professional mechanics by the way. I have over ten years in the boat business and my buddy josh owns one of the largest service stations around. So wrenching is covered. I'm going to bring a full assortment of hand tools as well as a bunch of cordless impact guns as well. Are there any special tools we may need specifically for our Hondas I will buy any we need or don't have. I bought a radio already, I am just waiting to buy a battery so it's fresh for June. What is the deal with fish tacos a lot of people talk about that? Mamito I will not be there until Saturday, that is as soon as I can be there, as of right now. I Have a business to run and I'm not going to be around for about ten days. No work, no cash, no cash, no racing. It the best I can do and besides we should be at your place late Friday night or early Saturday morning, we can load up, and somebody else can drive. We will be shot from the ride.

Just wanted to share what I am working on at writing up:

Mile 0-45 (start to Ojos Negros) --Mamtios Section!! - rider of record to start. - terrain: asphalt, roads, concrete, lots and lots of dust. - must be smart to control adrenaline and not make a mistake with all turns, traps, water and again dust. I know you're smart just adding in advice) - change rider at cross of highway 1.(race mile 45)

- Check out Robby Bell's Baja 500 video in Youtube to see this section. It's the first 4:40

(mile 45-mile 75) -- Me or Chris will do this section - new rider - terrain: dust, wash, open, fast. - easiest section - sun glare, hundreds of people camping

- The remainder of Robby's video will show this section.

(mile 77 to mile 100) --Me or Chris will do this section

- change of rider - We will want someone fresh before the "summit"(after mile 100) Bill Will do the "Summit" - this terrain is high technical at first (around 6 miles) but then it opens up with several sections of whoops. - Easy section.

-

https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/1T6WmpLgabM?feature=oembed^^ The first 2:15 will show parts of this section

To be continued....

What do you guys think? Of course, this can be altered.

I like the breakdown, you remind me of a buddy of mine, always has a plan, and always willing to tweak said plan. I love it when a plan comes together
