If their life is about drug use all the time, yes, they are bad, there is more to life than getting stoned, or at least there should be. !00% possibility that your friends will always have drugs on them? They cannot come over just to hang out? Watch a football game or play cards? They always do drugs? Nice tirade but you have not one piece of proof that pot is 100% safe for use and that is the problem. There is proof of severe mental and physical problems like the earlier mental retarding pot causes we talked about and you admitted to at least in a short term way. Yes, I believe people needing mental help are causing more harm by refusing to get the assistance they need to live life without chemical dependance. Everyone has the ability to get better but it requires the person to actively "want" to get better but as long as they have the crutch to feel better in short bursts, they won't get the long term help they desperately need. What I can't believe is you here saying some people are trapped in depression or other mental illness and we should just ignore the harm being caused by their failure to get the proper help. Let me give you an example you may be able to understand. Many people get ill and need to take antibiotics to kill infections. There are cases where people "feel" better and do not finish their antibiotics. Even though they "feel" better, the infection is still in their body and it is not completely killed off and can make a comeback where this time, it will take more powerful antibiotics to fight it off. The same is true with those who self-medicate to get relief from mental problems. They take their drug and "feel" better but the infection is growing inside them, making them need the relief of their drugs more and more to the point they make excuses in their own minds to use drugs every day. It is incredible how the mind will justify anything to get the "fix" they need. Recreational drugs are all the same from a moral perspective if not a legal one. Escaping reality because that reality is difficult to deal with is not the answer no matter what drug you choose to use. Now, do I see pot as less damaging compared to other drugs like cocain? No, why? Because people like you make excuses to use it thinking it is harmless and that makes it more wide spread. This again goes to dumbing down of America, we are stupid enough, we don't need more ways to keep us stupid. Ever wonder why the average pot smoker works low end jobs? They tend to work construction or fast food, anything where the level of mental exercise is at the lowest, you find pot smokers, if that is, you can pry them out of their mother's basement to get a job in the first place.

Nothing man does is ever going to be perfect, but I can tell you what is never going to help, giving up and burrying our heads in the sand to the problem of drugs will not make the problem go away. I don't want to take the time to go back and look, but I am pretty sure you said if your friends were around, the drugs were around, clearly showing they did not display the same self-control you profess to have. I understand your need to display your chosen drug in the best light possible, but clearly any illegal drug user would say the same things for "their" drug. And I notice you have still refused to comment on the other big reason to keep pot illegal, the undiagnosed mental illness running around trying to get by with self-medicating and possibly making themselves much, much worse. People need help dealing with stress, not finding new ways to escape reality and ignore the real problem.

So you agree we need to protect children from pot? The same guys say cocain is bad and things like murder is wrong. Pot does effect memory and motivation in the average person. Those who use pot tend to be unsavery people (even you admit your pot friends cannot be trusted around your child). There is no redeeming quality for recreational drugs to society. And this is the point, your slowed down and you use pot in lower quantities than the average pot head. The effect is greater in the average user. Many studies show the slowed mental state can last many months after use is stopped. Again, we are already behing in education compared to all other modern nations. We are in line to a point and suddenly out kids stop being motivated to educate themselves, why add to this problem?
-
Well we combine your own words here to the many studies saying pot impares learning and we have reason for concern right? I am sure changing your state of mind with any substance (I would think acid to be best) could help creativity in the arts, to a certain degree at least. As far as being stupid, a lot of very smart and successful people have fallen for the use of drugs. I remember one NASA engineer that I spoke with at a shooting competition held at Florida State Prison. He was an inmate who was one of the guys keeping up the grounds. At the firing range. He was in for cocain related charges, so even smart people do stupid things like get involved with drugs. Some people are just smart too and a very smart person can also stand some dumming down from drugs and function, all that tells me is they may be able to do much more if they were not crippling themselves. An addict will always make excuses for his drug abuse, even tell himself his abuse is beneficial to him in some way. Some people find it therapeutic to beat their wives at the end of a difficult day as well, it does not mean it is the right thing to do. I have already covered this in this thread but in short, let's look at it this way. You admitted you will not allow your "friends" to be around your daughter because they cannot be trusted. If even you, the most responsible pot smoker I have ever heard of (if your being honest) cannot find beter friends than that to smoke with, then clearly the majority of pot smopkers are very bad people. You also admit it is the youth that is most affected by the negative learning effects of pot and being as out youth is already far behind most other modern societies in education, I see no reason to put more barriers to learning out there as an acceptable thing. The cost to society of the one legal recreational drug we have (Booze) is so large it is impossible to even put a dollar about to it. The domino effect of ruined lives is without reasonable comparison to any other problem. Even with drugs being illegal, people are still overcomming their fear of the law to throw their lives away so if we remove that barrier, it will simply get worse. Most of the reason excess drinking is such a problem in society is because it is accepted as okay. The second you give pot, cocain, or any other recreational drug the same status of accepted, you will see the same or worse abuse with them. There have been clear successes in fighting the war on drugs to our children, and just like anything else that is worth doing, this will be a long tough battle. Our children showing clear reduced use shows a generational improvement, even if we cannot have much improvement at the shorter terms. Lastly, I have real problems with people having mental disorders and not getting the proper treatment. Treating the symptoms of depression, is not curing the depression. Mental problems are every bit, or more, important as other medical needs. You would not try to remove your own gall bladder would you? No, because even if your a trained doctor, treating yourself removes your objectivity. Treating your own mental illness is impossible because your looking at yourself through the eyes of depression or other problems and your vision will not be clear.
-
I posted a couple studies early in the conversation that did prove a connection to slower learning and poor performance with long time pot smokers even when not stoned. I am sure there are exceptions, but the average is what were talking about. Knowing it or not mens little if their still acting stupid. In fact, knowing your acting stupid and still doing it is a tad worse if you ask me.

Amen brother. We define ourselves by how we treat the helpless. If we can kill the most helpless life, we are truly lost as a society. I believe having the very old, the very sick, and the not so perfect people (like down syndrome) gives society perspective. We can learn a lot from the "weak" if we take the time to try. Again, do we only love perfect life? If your missing a finger, an arm, maybe your foot is deformed, maybe your mind did not come out perfect, maybe your ear is twisted the wrong way, maybe your born deaf or blind, do we say any of these things are grounds to kill them? I do not care about people (or not care) because of the way they look or talk, or think. Being completely honest, I believe the only reason the government allows abortion is because all the law makers see the unwanted children as a tax burdon. The average woman getting an abortion is poor or at least not a high earner and most of the time, their never married so a single mother with a child she never wanted is seen as destined to suck heavily on the government tit. It is a first level population control method to slow down the increased population of the poor. In my opinion.
-
Who is to say a child born with genetic flaw is not valuable? All life is valuable in my opinion, not just the perfect babies. My neighbor has a down syndrome child, he comes over sometimes to play with my kids, I could not imagine killing him just because he is not like other kids.
-
And they want to force the life growing in their womb to pay for their mistake with their life. Selfish right? Your so fast to call all killing murder, then do the same for this. Killing is killing right? In a weird kind of way, this is what I'm saying the woman should do. If she got drunk or not, she decided risky sex was a good idea and my possition is she should have to pay for her irresponsible decision just like the reso of the world for other irresponsible decisions. I do and my church runs two places for children in other Countries. There is no problem finding homes for infants, older children yes, but not infants. Some Cities like New York have waiting lists that go for years.

You implied it. And you have no idea the kind of pain/sadness comes from taking another life, even if you know it was your only choice. My point was not to say that one stress or another was "equal" to another, my point was that stress comes in all shades and sizes, but the "reaction" to that stress is internal, developing depression or other mental conditions from stress is purely the individual's fault. Again, I never said it did, I was pointing out the many forms stress comes in and how it is up to each of us to decide how to deal with this stress. So you cannot argue the points and turn to personal attacks? I never said I was perfect, I never said I have never been depressed, this is your trying to color your perceptions to justify attacking me. I have been depressed and even had counseling, no human is perfect, my point is that with the right help, I was able to find my way back to where I needed to be. There is nothing to be embarrased about to admit you need help, that you have reached your limit. The embarassment comes from trying to act like you are too good to ask for help and you just keep getting worse and worse. If I have a problem with my plumbing, I call a plumber, there is nothing to be ashamed about needing professional help to fix broken plumbing, but somehow some people feel asking for help with emotional problems is bad or embarrasing. I never understood that. Again, where did I ever say that? I am fairly hard sometimes, I know this but you guys keep wanting to make stuff up to be mad at me about. I never said depression was completely avoidable, I have said self-medicating will not deal with the problem though. If you take the time to read my posts, you will find one I made to Jhony a couple pages back where I said the drugs prescribed by the doctor are the vehicle to make counseling possible and that the counseling is dealing with the problem, not the drugs. Depression is inside the mind, and getting past the depression is also inside the mind. You guys need to get past the personal attacks and start reading what I say because your jumping to conclusions. My entire point about dealing with "daily" stress is if you need to medicate yourself on a daily basis to deal with it, you need professional help, just druging yourself will not fix anything. I have no real problem with Jhony, I accept his word that he did not meant the comment in an bad way directly tword me because we have both been hostile and friendly in seperate threads, we don't hold grudges. You on the other hand tend to always be down on me and you also have moderator ability to mess with me so when you add to that tossing around the word banning, it does get my notice.
-
Exactly my point, you don't see childish games as bad so you cannot fix the problem. Recognition of your problem is the first step to becoming a better person in every aspect of life. The most effective alcohol abuse programs all start with admitting you have a problem, there is a clue for you there is you are willing to see it. That would be determined by society the same as any murder committed. Society has rules, all I can do is offer my perspective to the whole for consideration. Butl if it was up to me, I would not so much punnish the woman as much as I would punnish those doctors who perform the abortions with penalties so harsh no doctor would perform. I would also set up a system that would reward those who report the illegal abortions so you now have millions of people all looking to make money by turning in a baby killer. All you will have then is some trying to do abortions at home, and we still have a few of those even with abortion being legal. I feel bad that some woman allow themselves to get to that point but remember, it was their "choice" to let this happen. I already covered my acceptance of abortion where the woman had no choice. You cannot be serious. That is a prime example of your rediclious possitions on things and why your viewed as an idiot. How can you compare an innocent life to a drunk taking over your home? By making the choice to have risky sex, the woman decided the risks were worth the pleasure at the time. The abortion is the escape she wants for the decision and choice she already made out of irresponsibility. Society, we all must live within the rules set forth. Today, abortion is legal and I have to accept that, but as a citizen, I have the right to speak out against things I do not agree with and push for change. This is what I am doing. I'm not, please try to pay attention, it will make these discussions easier with less repeating. I am on record for supporting abortion in the cases where there is no irresponsibility, sure, I would like to see life have a chance, but if the woman has no direct responsibility for her getting pregnant (rape for example) then I would not blame her for wanting an abortion. But as they say, all good things come to an end. I understand that is your view, you are not capable of seeing a differance between killing Ted Bundy or killing an innocent child, to you, it is all the same and you make no distinction for intent or mindset. I on the other hand do see a huge difference and so do most people (thank God) in the world. No, I live in reality, you don't. But you could go back to blocking me again so you don't need to worry about it, I guess you like the attention too much for that though.

Where did I ever say bad things never happen? My point is your "reaction" to the bad things is up to you, only you can control your mind. But if you want to see my point in real life, you need to visit a childrens cancer wing and see how bald, cancer ridden children still find the ability to play, to smile, to joke and have fun, even when their completely exahusted from the treatments. Frame of mind, no matter what is happening around you, is under your control. You said you used pot to overcome your stress, that was the basis of my comments. Sure, if you remove the illegal factor, taking recreational drugs is similar to drinking beer, but I don't like that either. "Legal" booze causes society a huge amount of money, if we have this much trouble with just one recreational legal drug, I hate to consider how bad it woulf get with more. And I dissagree, average Joe's running around with undiagnosed mental problems all trying to self-medicate without the proper medical training to know what their doing to treat their depressions and such sounds like a very dangerious situation to me. No, your detached from reality with drug induced apathy, in fact that is the biggest symptom of prolonged marijuana that I have issues with. Americans are lazy enough. Sure, there are lost of stressed out people in the world, and lots of people using both illegal and legal drugs to try and cope with their conditions but in all cases, the drugs will not fix the problem, all it can do it treat the symptoms caused by the real problem, the inability to cope with stress. Nice backhand insult attempt but trying to use the Wez tactic of lashing out at others to cover your own issues does not work with me. As I already said, it is not the medication used that is important, it is the counseling that helps people to create coping skills to one day be able to live life without the need to lean on chemicals of any kind, at least that is the goal of mental health doctors. Again as I said with Jhony, where did I ever say stress does not exist? Your making the same mistake he is in believing that a person is completely helpless to stress and that is not the case. I have dealt with death at all levels including ending one (in self defense), I have been through divorce and had several very close friends die and my god daughter died of SIDS at three months old. Yes, there are major stress causing events in every person's life, but your reaction to that stress is completely under your control. Right now I have a mother who is slowly dying, one medical problem after another and the doctors have told us to prepare for her death twice but she pulled through. Each person's death is comming, there is no way to escape that reality and it is the basis of my internet name and sig about not being able to beat time. Butwatch a loved one slowly die and you know stress. But, where does this leave me? Will me getting depressed or worse change the reality of my mother slowly dying? Will smoking pot make that reality go away? If I get pissed off at the world and take my hurt feelings out on others change anything? No, in fact, these things will make my life worse and will add to my stress, perpetuating an endless cycle of self-destructive behavoir. Yep, each time you look in the mirror you see him.
-
My point exactly, the first step is to admit you have a problem before you can repair that problem. To face the responsibility of the "choice" they made. So a baby is breaking and entering without permission? You come up with the most rediclious examples Wez. In this situation, the neighbor would have been invited in to live and then killed without warning to make it similar to an abortion. See, more control freak games, why can't you just be straight up and give up the 3 year old games? So far, but the future has endless possibilities, I don't intend to ever do something to deserve my being killed, but sometimes stuff happens. My point is you constantly ignore the motivations and reasons for actions so you can lump them all together and call them the same, this is one of my biggest problems with you. No, while your very irritating most of the time, if you could learn to not put so much exagerated garbage into your posts, you would actually be a good part of the forum, so as long as your directly talking to me, I will keep beating my head against the wall trying to point out where your missing the points. But it was very nice to not have to do that for awile. Again, if you could just stop eith the personal attacks and rediclious extremes, your points would be easier to accept, but you mix your good views with extreme possitions like calling all soldiers blind killers, this makes everything you say to get branded with the same description of over the top.
-
Stress does exist, but turning stress into depression is causes inside the person's mind. I said if a person has good coping measures, they don't have the "negative" effects of stress, and this is 100% correct. You cannot remove stress, there will always be pressures like a demanding boss for example, but you have complete control over how you deal with that stress. But life does not suck. If your making life suck, that is your problem, not mine or the government's. Again, it is you who allows stress to bother you, not the government and not the guy down the street. When you face stressful situations, you can either let them get to you or you can decide to not let it get to you, either way, your to blame for the outcome. If your life is so stressful you must use drugs to cope with that life, then you need more then the drugs, you need a new frame of mind to help you deal with the problems. Thia is where professionals come in. Yes they will give you medications if you need them, but their real job is to help you find new ways to deal with your stress from the inside, not the outside. Depression does not exist? Your suffering from depression man, and denial is one of the first symptoms. Self medicating will never get you the real help you need to stop the stress from building up inside you. Think of it this way, look at stress as a bullet. You can either deal with extracting a bullet from yourself at the end of each day, or you can wear a bullet proof vest and keep those bullets from getting inside you in the first place. A person's bullet proof vest from stress is attitude and the ability to accept things you cannot do anything about. If your in a bad situation, how does being upset or down make it any better? You can make a decision to be happy no matter what is happening in your life, remember, stress, depression, anger, irritation, is all a creation of your own mind. But, happiness, love, humor, hope, and a good attitude is also in your mind, it is up to you to decide what your minds does with it's potential.
-
And yet your still going off the deep end with your debating, the minute you can stay in reality I will gladly take you seriously but you don't seem capable of doing that so far....... Rape accounts for about 10,000 unwanted pregnancies each year, compared to the 1.2 million abortions each year and you see that all of your exmples account for nothing compared to the reality that abortion is used 99% of the time as a birth control method for irresponsible sexual encounteres. I will ask you again, why must you liberals always talk about 1% of the problem and ignore 99%? We say it is bad to kill your neighbor in cold blood or drive too fast on the freeway, why not tell people that killing innocent babies is a bad thing? Remember, only the woman had a choice, the innocent life was never offered a choice. Nope, that is why I don't like you. You feel you must control everyone and if they refuse to conform to your beliefs, you turn to personal attacks and childish behavoir to try and bully your side of the conversation. In your opinion, sure, but in reality there are huge differences. If I kill someone without a good reason, or I kill someone to save an innocent life, the two examples are both killing and appears the same to the narrow minded, but the reality is there are huge differances between the two, even if some people refuse to see the difference to feed their agenda. To be honest, the forum was a lot nicer as long as you were leaving me alone, I see you have not changed for the better so if your just going to go right back to your three year old tactics, I would prefer you go back to blocking me.
-
Tell that to the crack babies. Also, when people kill themselves with their irresponsibility, they tend to take an innocent with them. It is the innocent that we are trying to protect, not the guilty. I like many of his quotes, but I have issues with this one.
-
Why do we drive on a parkway and park on a driveway?
-
I thought you blocked me and was never going to respond to me ever again, I guess you are not a man of your word. No, telling the woman she has no right to kill another life she created in an irresponsible way, is protecting the child, not imposing anything on the woman, she imposed the pregnancy on herself. The woman had a choice, the innocent life being killed did not have a choice. Liberals will use any method they can to force their agenda into our lives. Most of the time they hide their actions in the realm of being politically correct or "helping" the poor but in reality, they are just trying to socially engineer a society where the government makes all our decisions for us. Yes, to a certain degree, both parties do some of this but for different reasons. The conservatives want to restrict recreational drugs for example because they tear society apart for thinking, self empowered people. Liberals want legal recreational drugs because a stoned society is easier to control.

There are certain things about a President that can bother the economy, such as both Billary and Obama have promised to severely increase the taxes on stuff like capital gains. Watch what happens to the stock market once plans like that start to go into effect. I liked your definition but would add a little more to expand on the big government part. Liberals believe people are incapable of managing their own lives, they need Big Brother to tell them what to do for every situation, to create a manual of life and to make everyone live by that manual. Liberals are the true racists, they are the only group telling minorities they cannot succeed without "them" taking care of them, nevermind that people like Oprah Winfrey have been succeeding without the help of Government for a very long time, they still try to convience the minorities that their helpless without liberals. Liberals are always trying to create "disadvantaged" groups in order to make them feel oppressed so they will support them to relieve that oppression, it is pretty sick to be honest.

All of mine are photobucket, I can see them from home and work, is there a better one that I can use so you can see them?

Thats pretty cool, I have always loved Chuck Norris jokes:here are a couple of my favorites: -Some kids piss their name in the snow. Chuck Norris can piss his name into concrete. -Chuck Norris once visited the Virgin Islands. They are now The Islands. -Chuck Norris does not sleep. He waits. -On a high school math test, Chuck Norris put down "Violence" as every one of the answers. He got an A+ on the test because Chuck Norris solves all his problems with Violence. -When the Boogeyman goes to sleep every night he checks his closet for Chuck Norris. -Once a cobra bit Chuck Norris' leg. After five days of excruciating pain, the cobra died. -Chuck Norris does not hunt because the word hunting implies the possibility of failure. Chuck Norris goes killing. -Superman owns a pair of Chuck Norris pajamas. -The reason newborn babies cry is because they know they have just entered a world with Chuck Norris. -Chuck Norris is not hung like a horse... horses are hung like Chuck Norris -When Chuck Norris looks in a mirror the mirror shatters, because not even glass is stupid enough to get in between Chuck Norris and Chuck Norris. -Chuck Norris doesn't play "hide-and-seek." He plays "hide-and-pray-I-don't-find-you." -

Again, as I keep saying over and over, charity is not in the wallet, it is in the intent. No it does not, your trying to make the massive amounts of assistance given to society, and even the whole world by religious groups sound the same as tossing a dollar into a jar on the counter at your local 7-11, and your dead wrong. Only religious people do anything real to help others, this is fact. I agree, maybe you should get some rest so your not so jumbled. . Just like the largest genocide ever done was by Athiest leaders. No, you talk of brainwashing and stuff all the time too. You offer up anyone who believes in religion as bad and attack them if they dare to assert themselves. Your intollerant, I have never called you names but you try to say I'm ignorant, stupid, blind, anything you can think of to put me down, but you cannot offer even one shread of proof to show an Athiest giving aid in places like Darfur, and that is your problem. Athiest followers cannot show themselves to be good, so they try to bring down the good done by religion, your a textbook case of how athiests are tearing away at the fabric of society. I have yet to see any real proof that the average athiest has ever donated to anything, sure, I will admit there are some rich ones doing it for tax breaks, but you still cannot offer anything but empty words, to speak for the "average" athiest follower. Is that so? And who do you think the "general public" is anyway? Most studies show between 80 and 90% of America are religious to some degree. Add to that the average Athiest truly hates anything to do with religion (as your own attacks here clearly proves) so I would find it difficult to believe anyone would give money to things (like a begging bowl) they hate because that would promote the religious group, two and two together tells me that it is very unlikely that any of the donations from the "general public" are from athiests. Charity of the kind we are discussing is, how many hindu or budda orphanages can you name around the world? How many atheist run orphanages can you name? Web said it, was he wrong? Covered above, the "general public" is mostly religious, the athiests hate anything to do with religion and are trying to abolish religion anywhere they can, why would they then help finance religion? You said it yourself, you called them "begging bowls", that is clear contempt for the collection, why would anyone give to something they have such contempt for? That does not compute, lol. You keep talking about what is real or fact but you offer nothing to support your claims about the average athiest helping others. Sure, I can admit that there is always an exception to every rule, and I am sure there are a few athiests that do not attack religion the way you do, but what I am speaking on is the "average" example of our two groups. On average, religious people tend to care about other people, we give to our community while I have never heard of a single athiest helping anyone in my community. In fact, while I offer my own experiences, you guys don't have any examples to offer of your own. Instead of putting so much effort into lashing out against religion, why not join forces with us and attack some real problems in the world, and even in our own back yards. I deliver hot meals every other week because I feel the personal touch to brighten a person's day is very fullfilling. Hands on care and concern for the community, you should give it a try. Concerning your seperate personal attacks on me, there you go again showing your intolerance, while we both disagree, only you turn to personal attacks, like you must tear away at my character to somehow prove your point as valid. If you feel your possitions are so weak you must resort to tactics like this, maybe you should evaluate them a little closer, insecurity is the first sign you know your wrong. I was mostly pushing Web because he came out the gates here swinging at people, calling them names and acting superior, I know there are a few like you who help a little, but your not the norm, your the exception. I know it must be irritating to see all athiests tossed into a bundle but think how I feel with you guys calling all religious believers names like brainwashed and child abuse. That movie web said was good simply trashed all religion and called all of us bad. Athiests tend to rend and tear at what we hold dear, all we want is to preserve our right our our faith. I tossed down a challenge with Web demanding he back up his claim the report I posted was biased and paid for by oil companies to lie, we will see if he can back that claim up, if not he is simply blowing hot air.

Is time travel possible?
-
Yep, I have moved around a bit including some military time that took me to places like Colorado Springs but I love Florida. I will stay in north central though, we seem to be fairly safe from the storms here and I can hit either coast in just a short time for fun. You know what they say about small worlds.
