As a true believer, I will be the judge of the correct intrepretations of religious works, you do not have the ability to do so. You have good points about certain things but you allow those points to completely close your mind to the fact that sometimes we must decide to act on a situation of the least of all evils. You point your finger and do nothing yourself. You want oil to magically appear at the gas station and refuse to consider the many complex issues governing the trip it must take to get there. You forget that when we were helping people like Bin Laden, it was a choice of either helping him, or letting Russia take over that area. Helping or not helping Bin Laden was bad either way but we had to decide what bad thing was less bad, a thing leaders do, and complainers just keep complaining because that is all they can ever do. The war in Iraq was for many reasons, not one, it is called a complex issue, most likely too complex for you to understand being as you keep saying it was for oil and we only kill innocent people. Where was America when Russia was trying to take over the world? Did we mind our own business and let them do what they wanted or did we take action and stop it with all the world benefitting from our actions?

?Man's basic vice, the source of all his evils, is the act of unfocusing his mind, the suspension of his consciousness, which is not blindness, but the refusal to see, not ignorance, but the refusal to know.'' - Ayn Rand "Few men think, yet all will have opinions." - George Berkeley ?Society?s demands for moral authority and character increase as the importance of the position increases.? - John Adams

No, our enemy is in your mirror, the enemy within. Like you are doing, you twist the versus to say what they never said or meant. When people are forced to look at the context of the versus, they either see their flaw or they strike out in their refusal to accept they were wrong and attack those that point out their error. Like you twisting versus you cannot and don't even want to understand. You refuse to look at the context, so that is why you will always be wrong. Because your false conclusions have been handed to you by groups like moveon.org. You lack the ability to have an open mind so by shielding your mind from the facts, you have preconceived results. And yet you lie about things like the war in Iraq and you misrepresent bible versus, nice touch.

America is not alone in the world but again, if we are too busy right now doing other more important things in our priority scale and you tryly want to help and not just bust your gums, then do so, go to these places and take action. By the way, if your truly interested in knowing why your understanding of the versus is wrong, I give you this example: http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m0MKY/is_3_29/ai_n11838798/pg_1 Context is everything, if you do not understand the context, you cannot understand the meaning.

This child dies from the direct actions of the mother, that is homicide. If I take my attention off the road for a second and cause a crash that kills someone, that is called vehicular manslaughter in most states. The concept is that if someone causes the death of another person, they should get into trouble. If we refuse to hold this woman accountable for killing her child, then what are we telling society? We are justifying a parent to kill their child. What if a parent sees that and leaves their child in their car on purpose and only "claims" they forgot them in there? How do we know for sure? I would bet she was on a cell phone at the time, that is just my guess. You can offer compassion without giving her a pass on her actions. Being a parent is a serious undertaking that most people do not take seriously. If we will put someone in jail for not paying attention while they are driving, then we should do the same for the more serious lack of paying attention as a parent that causes their childs death.
-
Entire story: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,306556,00.html How can you "forget" a child is in the car? I am sorry but I cannot see this as reasonable, these parents that leave kids in hot cars for even a few minutes should go to jail.

Obviously you do not understand the versus you are posting and only want to stifle discussion when you know you are wrong so I will leave you at this. You are a Hypocrite. You complain all day long but you are part of the problem. You partake of things that keep the problem alive and pretend to not like the result of actions you cause yourself. The second you can live up to the standard of living without cars and oil is the day I listen to you preaching the rest of us need to do what you refuse to do. If you hate America so much, fine, leave, I am sure your friend from Iran will take you to the utopia she lied to you about. If you cannot even accept the truth that Iran kills homosexuals as young as 14, you are truly a mess.

We are shooting criminals, murderers, bombers and such, not innocent people, in fact, the changes we have made in the violence in the last few months have come from getting the local groups to trust us, by working together to fight the terrorists and other outside killers that have been driving most of that violence. Yep, but we are always looking for new methods that will work better, if you have more then empty wishes to offer, feel free to discuss the specifice of how you would get people like Suddam to not attack Kuwait. How do you know she was honest? She in fact was a lier, and you were gullible. Here is one of the many thousands of examples: http://www.commondreams.org/headlines06/0505-06.htm Being an isolationist is not the answer, we cannot bury our heads in the sand and pretend reality does not exist. No problem there, I would die before I allowed my children to be harmed. My point is as a neighbor, would you act to protect a child being abused of would you mind your own business and allow it to continue. You dodged the question, try answering it. I would if I understood what you were trying to say. It does not take a brain surgon to see the dnager people like Suddam is to people. His raping little girls and killing the entire family if they complained was reason enough for me to support his removal. As well as the 40 something UN resolutions that were never enforced. We have sent massive amounts of aid already. Obviously there are limits to helping even with us but feel free to sell all your things, hop on a plane witht he money and help these people if you believe strongly that more help is needed, don't just sit in your safe little world doing nothing but complain about everything. Concerning your other comments, we do not live in a perfect world and sometimes we need to decide between the lesser of two evils. We supported Bin Laden against Russian invasian and many years later he pays us back with 9/11. There is an old saying, no good deed goes unpunnished. While I admit that our good works do sometimes explode in our faces, we don't do these good things for recognition, we do them because they are the right thing to do. While we do these good things, we do sometimes make a few mistakes but we cannot becaome frozen, afraid to act because we fear making a mistake. ?I am only one, but still, I am one. I cannot do everything but I can do something. And, because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do what I can.? - Edward Everett Hale

This is what counts. We should be more concerned with being happy, not with making more money. In many cases, making more money does not equal more savings or a better life because of the other things that go with it. As you pointed out, working and paying for things like daycare costs money but it also cost you and your child to be unhappy. Why work hard to be unhappy? If we were to let go of these expectations for the nicer car or the bigger house and just be happy, things would be much simpler and we may even be able to salvage the family unit.
-
Where are we doing that? So how do you propose we get the murderers to believe what you want them to believe? The problem is you believed her. She lied to you, homosexuals are murdered, women are murdered, how can you get more supressive of your society then killing them for not believeing what you are told to believe? So you believe in being an isolationist. Most people do not believe in that. So if your neighbor is abusing his children you mind your own business and never take action right? Again, where is this happening? America provided over 70% of the food eaten by Afganistan at the time we were attacked on 9/11, America has a long history of giving out more aid to poor Countries then all the other Countries combined. That is a very narrow and uneducated view. You keep saying we should mind our own business and not judge others but you wrongly judge the Saudi Royal family. Why is it okay for you to make sweeping judgements but our Government cannot? Just because you do it does not make it right. What you don't understand is people like you create the need for oil but then in the same breath you complain that we work to keeping the oil comming to fill that need. If you don't want America to work to keep oil comming, stop adding to the problem. Your wrong there, there is a huge difference between a government that will stone their citizens to death and America, no matter how hard you try to twist things. Wow, your a conspiracy theory wacko..........I will simply say paranoia is a medical issue that you cannot get proper treatment for in a place like this.

Do you say the same thing about the cop on your streets fighting crime? I hate that most people require a threat of violence to behave but that is the way of the world. In many ways we do act like world police and that is an unfortunate side effect of caring about what happens in our world. Playing world cops was not seen as bad when we were standing up to the Russian nuclear arms race as well as kicking Suddam out of Kuait after he invasded but we get attacked for other theings. There is no way to make everyone happy. Do you believe America should be isolationists? Man?????? Pansy maybe, but they do have a new leader who seems to have some backbone for a change, we will see what happens. I am not dodging the question, the question is complex and has answers that are very difficult to discuss if you have no working knowledge of the basic principles. Things like trade agreements can have oil related agreements combined to ensure a free flowing supply from certain areas.

There were about 40 unenforced UN resolutions with Iraq and real evidence showing concern for American interests to include support for certain terrorists (not the groups but a couple specific people). When acting on issues like this, the decision is complex and involves many thousands of advisors. We cannot be everywhere at the same time and must act on a priority basis. Everyone dying and offering freedom to the opressed is importent, but we do have limits. That would take a college level course to teach you the hundreds of ways if you have no clue now, sorry but I don't have that kind of time.

Wow, this is a very difficult situation. I had a friend go through almost the same situation and it took her over a year to resume a relatively normal life. Put simply, you are not to blame by every standard a rational mind can come up with but this sittuation is emotional, and that means it is difficult to see it from a rational perspective. Nothing but time and maybe some counseling can get you through this very bad situation. My prayers go out to you.

Snafu is right, let's get away from the oil and Iraq discussion. America does work very hard to help with gettign freedom for many Countries, we have supplied most of the troops and aid money/food for the UN actions every year. While it sounds nice to free everyone, even America has limits as to how much it can do at one time and we need somone else to help a little. I consider myself to be a pretty good reader, piss poor speller due to using word with a spell checker for too long, but still a good reader. Obviously there was something in your comments to give me the impression you were against the government working hard to keep oil comming, maybe you can be a little more clear of what you are trying to say, all we have to go on is words being as I cannot hear your voice to get how you say the words or see your body for posture cues.

Just to let you know, the award was appealed by McDonalds and they won. I believe they paid about 100 grand in the end. It does suck that an innocent man was in prison but most suits depend on negligence to get much of an award. There was no DNA science for the State to use back when the case was first done so they can only go on the information they do have. There is no negligence and no reason or evidence for malice. He should get something but I don't see anyone being truly guilty of wrong doing in most of these cases.
-
Where is the war you keep talking about that is about securing that oil? I see you double talking, you did attack the notion of the government working hard to keep the oil supply comming but you are so far talking like you are unwilling to make any sacrifice to back up what you say others should do. Maybe you need to be more clear about what you are "trying" to say because so far you are saying one thing but doing another.

You know, France does seem to fit well, funny stuff. France is the only Country to be conquered more than Britney Spears. Look France, I don't have a problem with you voicing your opinions, they are just raw without the tempering factor that age and wisdom brings. There is an old saying: "If your not Liberal by the time your 25, you don't have a heart" "If your not a Conservative by the time your 35, you don't have a brain" With youth, there is ideas without substance. There is ideas without reality. There is ideas without a way to pay for them. With age there is reason. With age there is wisdom. With age there is common sense. You complain that the government should not work to keep oil supply comming to America and yet you are helping to increase America's dependance on oil. That is a great idea, but you don't have your good idea tempered with comon sense. If you want someone like me to take you seriously, you need to walk the walk when you talk the talk.

Wage slaves? Few people are independantly wealthy, so I am not sure of your point. They use chemocal weapons on their own people, they have been violating human rights for over 20 years with the UN refusig to enforce their own resolutions, the list goes a long way without ever mentioning oil, but you think people are dying for oil, kinda missing the point there. Again, that is not the sace, we have naver killed people to get oil, oil may have been a consideration way down the list, but people are not dying for oil as a major consideration. Besides, people were dying every day anyway. Did you know Suddam was raping little girls and killing their entire families if they complained? You take no for an answer, stop driving, stop increasing the need for oil. If you cannot live without oil as a single person, how can you ask a nation to do it? Your still consuming power, you still using oil, so you do not live by your words. Everyone has their limits. You can't even make a basic sacrifice to stop adding to the nations need for oil but you want everyone else to sacrifice, that is wrong. But without expending oil, you can't even get there to try and talk to the merchant, catch 22. A plane consumed massive amounts of fuel, fuel comes from oil, you are increasing the need for oil just by traveling, you see, even your own comments require a greater use of the very oil you say we should not be trying to get. Supply and demand. I own three businesses and have a very good grasp on business concepts and practice. If you remove the demand, you don't need the supply. By adding to the need for more oil, you are contributing to our government needing to keep the supply comming. You are part of the problem, stop complaining until you stop being part of the problem.

You cannot say that. Being as you do not live that life, you cannot understand how it feels and how it supports a persons actions and decisions. The facts show that young people actively involved in the church get better grades and have very few cases of unwanted pregnancies. Clearly the results tell the difference. I teach the same thing eddo does with one addition, I tell how our souls interact with each other during sexual intercourse and having different partners confuses our souls and makes it difficult to maintain a relationship. I believe that is why marriages do not last anymore, our souls are too mixed up and we have no real connection to one special person. Our sexual partners become similar to a toilet, only a place for refief and one is as good as another when we are looking for that relief.

If you think money is the only freedom you are missing most of the point of being an American. I have had the chance to know many people in the top 10% of income in America, and I will tell you this, most people with lots of money are unhappy. T rue freedom has nothing to do with money. No, your belief makes you no more special than anyone else with their belief. If you refuse to back your words with actions, you are just as guilty as those you complain about. All bark, no bite. But you have not understood them obviously. Your point is we should not be taking action to secure oil for our society, if you believe that then stop giving us a reason to need the oil in the first place. Fine, I respect your ideas, I just find them nieve. But the product it a tool, a method. If you say that the government should not do anything to get oil, you need to back that up with actions that support that claim. If you refuse to live the life you say others should, then you are guilty of hypocrisy. No you do not, you are only skirting the edges, there is much more you can do if you are willing to make the scarifice, if you truly believe the stuff you are shoveling. First of all, you should not own or ride in a car, if you do then you are justifying America's need for oil. If America needs oil, then the government needs to be sure it can get that oil. Second, use no electricity, if you do then you are justifying America's need for oil. If America needs oil, then the government needs to be sure it can get that oil. Again, the attackers from 9/11 were not from Iraq and is a seperate issue but to answer your question, radical islam (not to be confused with regular islam) preaches that all infidels need to be removed "using all stratigms of war". Their fanatical beliefs cannot be completely understood by anyone not fanatical but suffice it to say, people hate for many reasons, most of them without good cause. I would have thought that was obvious considering my stands but no, I have never purchased a vehicle that was not American made. I also refuse to shop at Wal-Mart unless they are the only place to get what I need, I will spend extra and go to the local privately owned stores. I hate that we lost all the electronics to other Countries and I have no choice there but I will buy American any time I have the chance. Always willing to help.

He has been very clear but you seem to lack the ability to understand so I am just trying to help you understand. I have three children and am used to dealing with the less than adult mental state. One is government both replacing parental responsibility and not even telling the parents how far they are going with each child or even ask if they want their child to be put on birth control pills. The state makes the classes "mandatory" in every school and there is no possible way for the parent to keep their child from being given that instruction. The other is private people, giving an informed consent for their child to attend a "non-mandatory" sex education class. The parent knows exactly what is being told to their kids.

There are no "good" reasons to die but many reasons that are worth dying for. Freedom, even for other people is a one of those reasons. Have I mentioned that I have served my Country and my son has just joined the Marines? Obviously service to a Country can be a very good thing, to those with the courage to do so. I gave you the link, please read. That is called hypocrisy. If you truly believe what you say, back it up with actions instead of empty words. That is called hypocrisy. I have a saying you can make your mouth say anything. If all you do is talk, but you live the life you say you are against, you are the crowning example of hypocrisy. Being as you like to bang that drum against religion, maybe you need to learn to remove so much hypocrisy from your own life first. Baby steps, stop using so much of the product you "claim" is causing the problem first. You cannot complain that we chould not go to such lenghts to get oil if you are one of the gluttons using it. Right now you are wasting electricity to use your computer, to complain about our oil needs, kind of silly. Why not start by not using oil yourself? Bull, you want to complain but you refuse to do anything about taking away your own part in the problem. You are confused, we are not talking about 9/11, invading Iraq had little to do with 9/11, just take a few seconds and click on the link I provided so you can know what you are talking about. Wrong again my little friend, being "assempled" in America does not mean it is made in America. Parts are shipped here and those parts are assembled. So, all the industrial jobs for creating all the parts are over seas, not in America. The only Americans getting anything out of it are the assemblers at the plant, nobody else but a Ford has thousands of American Companies and millions of employees involved in the production of many parts of the car. Some are over seas, but many are made here as well while all of the Toyots parts are made elsewhere. Just as a helpful comment, there is a button next to the submit button that says "preview post". If you hit that button, you can preview your post so you don't have to do so many edits.

Already answered, here, I will post it again. Again, it is the "informed" choice. Not all parents are good speakers, not all parents know and understand everything in a way to talk about them openly. Many single mothers feel uncomfortable talking to their sons about these things and the father is not arround. I have been asked by many women to talk to their sons on this topic because they know, respect, and trust me. You can be involved without speaking the words, but it is the involvement that makes a parent a good parent.

People die every day, the question is if they die for a good cause. The war in Iraq had oil as a minor consideration to be sure, but it was not the main reason, or even close to major to be honest. Fine, don't just talk though, do it. Turn off your computer, give away your car and live the live you "say" you are willing to live because as long as you are living the live of a consumer of oil, you are adding tot he problem, making it necessary to get that oil you are using. It is easy to blast off your mouth when you will never give up anything. You want everyone else to give up their computers and cars but refuse to take that step yourself. Stand up for what you "say" you believe in, do it now, don't wait for everyone else. Set the example. Otherwise, you are part of the problem you claim other people are to blame for. Ask yourself that question, you are using up as much oil as I am, if you are incapable of letting it all go, why attack others for doing the same as you? If you think oil is why anyone is dying, then you do need to educate yourself on why we went to war in Iraq. Nope, The Toyotas parts are shipped in and the profit is sent out of the Country. You do not help America buying an "american" Toyota.
