  1. I agree that it was pretty sad that even the so called 'conservative party' politicians seemed to join in on the out of control spending spree but not to be out done, Obama and company have made GW's spending over 8 years look like nothing, and you have to consider that things seemed a little better for spending then, now we are obviously in bad shape and collecting way less tax funds and what do Liberals do when we are in hard times? Raise taxes....... The problem is you create a never ending cycle, the Government reuns out of money so they tax more to get the funds they "need", that supresses the economy, drives more people out of work or they spend less money (because they have less to spend) and that further reduces tax collection, so the Government has another shortfall of revinue and has to raise taxes again....... Wash, rinse, repeat.
  2. I think all the big cities constantly have road construction going on, Jacksonville is one of my regular destinations and I can't remember a time the area around I10 and 95 was not being worked on in the last 20 years. Florida overall has decent roads though, I am pretty happy. When I was stationed in Colorado in the Army, I was impressed at how fast they completed road projects, many were 24 hour a day jobs and I remember one job where they had to lower a road under an existing overpass but the road was very busy all the time. They shut it down Friday afternoon and had it completed Monday morning. Impressive.
  3. Is that not the case with everything the Government spends money on? Remember the last way you can spend money: Spending someone elses money on someone else. That is Government. In the attempt to rebuild their reputation, Government Motors is spending millions on advertising. Will it work? So far I am not impressed by any of it, are you?
  4. Great video eddo, funny as hell......
  5. Why is it I sense a lack of support for this awsome new direction for marketing the new and improved Government Motors is heading? Don't you guys know this is brilliant? I am sure this kind of thinking will propell Government Motors into great success all over the world.
  6. Latest news is that child protection services have been to the home concerning a report of the couple having physical confrontations in front of the children. Also, the wife has been seen in public not wearing her wedding band and has purchased with her own money a large mansion back in her home country. Things are not looking good for the couple at this point, as should be expected.
  7. I think we need to offer support for our new President and support this new age of success for GM and their modern marketing by learning the Volt dance: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JL-zY0duGME]YouTube - Chevy Volt Dance Troupe[/ame] The catch tune they commissioned is a sure chart topper and the dance....the dance is as good as you will ever find from professional dancers.....
  8. In his speech, Mr Gore told the conference: ?These figures are fresh. Some of the models suggest to Dr [Wieslav] Maslowski that there is a 75 per cent chance that the entire north polar ice cap, during the summer months, could be completely ice-free within five to seven years.? However, the climatologist whose work Mr Gore was relying upon dropped the former Vice-President in the water with an icy blast. ?It?s unclear to me how this figure was arrived at,? Dr Maslowski said. ?I would never try to estimate likelihood at anything as exact as this.? Mr Gore?s office later admitted that the 75 per cent figure was one used by Dr Maslowksi as a ?ballpark figure? several years ago in a conversation with Mr Gore. The embarrassing error cast another shadow over the conference after the controversy over the hacked e-mails from the University of East Anglia?s Climate Research Unit, which appeared to suggest that scientists had manipulated data to strengthen their argument that human activities were causing global warming. Inconvenient truth for Al Gore as his North Pole sums don't add up - Times Online More manipulation, more fabricated data, more lies designed for one thing.........to make money. This reminds me when the "scientists" for big tobacco said that smoking was not dangerious many years ago. When a lot of money is involved, there seems to be no end to people who are willing to make stuff up to make money off the masses. In this case, scare the masses with lies and sell them super expensive lightbulbs and charge them ten times the normal cost of energy. Al Gore and everyone else pushing this agenda are making massive amounts of money, follow the money.
  9. I agree, in the bigger picture of fighting killers like this, the guys giving him a couple love taps is not really a big deal. I was just saying I could better understand the move to charge them if they had actual evidence instead of just the word of the guy who has killed innocent "infidels" for sport. I think this administration's decision to offer American criminal protection rights to Enemy combatants on forign soil pretty much proves where his heart is in this situation. Ordering the trial of terrorists responsible for 9/11 to civilian court in New York is the same mentality of offering these war criminals Americans rights and liberties that they have not earned. I say we should not be giving away our rights to people from foreign lands who have in their heart the desire to kill us and destroy our way of life. Uncountable American lives have paid for our freedoms with their blood, what did these foreign combatants pay for this right?
  10. As usual, Gore and the rest of the money making scammers use pretend data to try and cause alarm that will force legislation that will put hundreds of billions of dollars into his pocket. He and ever so called "scientist" who help him fake these reports are all corrupt. The Plain Truth: Revealed: Antarctic ice growing, not shrinking
  11. My point on this part is by selling his image to the public, all aspects of his image, both good and bad, become the business of the public. The people "paid" for the right to both adore, and attack him. Tiger was happy for the public attention when he was making billions of dollars off of that attention, too late to cry about the attention now. He got exactly what he was on his knees begging for. I do not feel bad for him in the slightest, no matter how bad this attention gets, he still has billions of dollars he has made almost exclusively from the positive attention he got. There is an old saying: You gotta take the good with the bad, smile with the sad, love what you got, remember what you had, always forgive, never forget, learn from mistakes, never regret, people change, things go wrong but just remember, Life goes on. ~ unknown I'll make a prediction though, if she decides to stay with him, he will cheat again. Someone who has broken his vows so many times already does not possess the character to ever be faithful again.
  12. When the powerful fall, it is news unfortunately. Most of my loving this story is how other people are reacting to it, not Tiger himself. I do wonder this though......if the situation was reversed, and the man had been beating the crap out of his wife with a golf club, would the cops had let it go? Somehow I doubt it. Anyway, I don't feel bad for Tiger in the slightest, he was weak, and is getting the penalty for being weak. Atlantic, don't think for a second that Tiger is the only man in a committed relationship who has to exercise self control. Wearing a wedding band and having a job is all you need for some women to hit on you no matter what you look like. Sure his money and fame may have increased it some but at the end of the day, he asked for all of this, nobody forced him to sell his image and take the billions of dollars, that was his choice to live this life. The only people I feel bad for is the wife and kids, the kids are very young now but I am sure they will one day know about these things and the wife will never be able to go anywhere for the rest of her life without everyone she meets knowing her husband slept around on her all the time. The real question is, will she think this leopard will change his spots? Sure he feels bad "NOW" because he got busted, but two years down the road after all this has been forgotten, will the personality that gave into temptation still be there? It is like a drug addiction, most will "fall of the wagon" over and over again their entire life.
  13. There is nothing to support this terrorist's claim but his word, at what point did the word of a terrorist become reliable enough to charge soldiers with a crime? I could partly understand it if there was some other evidence to support the guy's claim but in a battle of words, I would have to say the character of the person speaking becomes the number one consideration..........and the soldiers win that comparison of character in my book.
  14. Don't you think not having a dad in their life can leave a big hole that can be filled with any idiot like this or any other sports hero? It is not a matter of what sport they play, it is about being a successful black man, and you can certainly say Tiger is that. And it is not just the black community, the white community are now seeing the same problem on a smaller (but growing) scale where fathers are not involved in raising their children on a daily basis and the children are looking for a male figure to look up to.
  15. Well this is where we will not agree. If he is greedy enough to sponge off the public billions of dollars selling his image, I think a certain responsibility exists by that exchange of money to conduct yourself in certain ways. He made almost all of his billions from selling his squeeky clean image, a great deal of the money he made was from helping to sell products to the black community who were buying into that image he was creating. This was all by choice, nobody forced Tiger to create this image, or to take the money. I think we all are responsible to set the standards for younger generations but people like Tiger who make massive amounts of money selling their image has an even greater responsibility because he is taking the money......... In my opinion.
  16. So you don't think his choice to sell his image and intentionally be a public icon has any responsibility attached to it? No greater responsibility than someone who is not a public figure or "setting the standards"? I remember someone saying that Obama had more pressure on him to not screw up because he was the first black President and him messing up would be a bad mark on "all" black people, not just himself. I think a lot of people in the Black communities are trying to say that these famous black people should represent their race better because their failures are felt by more than just them. Merc, because he looks black and has accepted many awards and attended many functions with people recognising him as a "black athlete". As far as his "true" parentage, who knows for sure what that is? Without DNA testing there is no way to know for sure. Did you know it is possible for white parents to have a black child? Understanding Genetics: Human Health and the Genome In many cases it is our perceptions, not reality that governs our decisions, I made a big post about that once.
  17. And I guess that is the point some of these groups are making so the next question is......should someone like Tiger Woods be more careful as to what they do because millions of young black children are looking up to him as their role model? There was a lady on one of the news shows last night that said white children have an endless supply of white role models to emulate but young black boys have very few and out of the few they have, successful black sports stars seem to have the most impact. So when these black role models show that real success includes a white woman on your arm.................that hurts relationships in the black community. Do you think this is possible emkay? Can this kind of attitude by someone like Tiger be passed on to generations of young black boys/men who look up to Tiger?
  18. To be a racist under the way this is talking about is usually "excluding" a group. Some people are saying that these black men are excluding even the possibility of dating in their own race at all, so I guess that is the exclusion the way they see it. This is not my point of view though, I am just talking about some of the commentary I have seen from the black community especially many black women. I think it is funny actually. emkay, The heart wants, what the heart wants, but how often do we want the fancy sport car because our neighbor has one? The new zero turning radius mower because the neighbor has one? The big Christmas light display because the neighbor has one? The question that some of these groups seem to be asking is if these famous black men with white women are setting up other black men to reject black women. Is that a possibility? Are black men like Tiger Woods setting the standard that other black men try to achieve? Remember the commercials "be like Mike"?
  19. I have my own theory. I really like most black women as friends, they tend to be very........energetic with their opinions. Rarely have I found a black woman who was not fast to tell you what was on their minds. White women can be vocal, but not with the assertiveness that the average black woman has (in my experience). In all the cases I have seen with famous black men who have the "Barbi" white girls, the women seem very submissive to the guy........something no black woman I have ever known would be willing to do. Take this situation for example, sure his wife beat his azz with a golf club, Tiger tried to drive away and crashed his car. Tiger lied and said his wife did not hit him but if that was what I know as the average black woman there would have been no lies, she would have still been beating him with the golf club when the cops arrived and she would have screamed out "ya, I beat his azz, the S. O. B. should not have been screwing around on me, I should cut his d!ck off, and I will if he does it again".
  20. Is it safe to say 'poo' will be discussed tonight?
  21. I have several friends who are black so I have asked a couple of them today what they think about this attention to the race aspect and it is interesting to hear the difference between how black men and black women respond. Black women really do seem to take this issue seriously and to them when a famous black man rejects black women completely, it does bother some of them.
  22. The joys of parenting.
  23. I have been reading some of the many commentary columns about the Tiger situation after a friend showed me an interesting trend. They "seem" to be saying that he is pushing a sort of racist pattern where even when he is chasing other women, he only selects "Barbi Doll" white women. The question some seem to be asking is with all the vast sea of beautiful women in the world, why does he not select any variety in his various sexual partners? The one thing they never say is "where is the black women"? The trend of sports and other very famous black men is to "NOT" want anything to do with black women and the point that seems to be made is people like Tiger Woods are making the situation worse. You know what, I feel putting these people too high on a pedestal is a recipe for danger anyway but to a certain degree I guess I see some of this point. The common expression for "making it" for a black man is to have a white woman, so the question is: Is that a bad thing? Thoughts?
  24. That was funny as hell, lol. I had to just run into stuff to see what happened and when his wife beat the crap out of him and the car I giggled like a little kid.
  25. So it is like an Earth sized microwave oven right? At the end the guy was talking about how the Government went forward with nuke tests not being sure the reactions being tested would stop at a big explosion and not chain reaction into something much more. So he feels the Government will try to do something similar with our ionosphere and possibly cause damage that they can't fix or might cause a chain reaction that will cause the destruction of the Earth......at least that is what I got from it. It is certainly possible, I have come to understand that those who run our Government don't really care much about the rest of us but they do seem to try and protect themselves. They have to live too and buried under ground for a hundred years in a bunker would not seem like a fun time even for them. Maybe they could bring Tiger Wood's "friends" along for entertainment.
