Rob talks about LPU 6 CD and touring in an interview with AOL

 

 


Linkin Park's Rob Bourdon and the rest of his bandmates decided to check in from the studio with an exclusive photo, because we all know Christmas can't come too soon. But that's not the only gift Bourdon has in store. He thinks the group's latest annual holiday offering, 'LPU6,' available to fan club members and, for the first time, at Best Buy, will be the gift that keeps on giving to die-hard fans. "I definitely think that this CD is the best one we've done so far," he tells AOL Music.


Bourdon believes the fan-friendliness of the six-track package, which comprises new studio and live recordings, is a direct result of the work the sextet has put in on its eagerly anticipated new record with producer Rick Rubin. "This does have two new tracks from the studio," Bourdon says. "We've never been able to be in the studio and have a ton of extra songs and be writing while putting the fan pack together. So that's been a huge bonus." Among the songs is 'Qwerty,' which Bourdon can't wait to play live again after debuting it this past summer. "It's probably the heaviest song we've ever written," he says. "And usually those songs tend to be the most fun to play in front of an audience."

 


The band has just announced its first confirmed date for 2007, headlining the second day of the Bamboozle Fest at the Meadowlands, in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on May 6. Bourdon is so eager to get back to the stage he is literally dreaming about it. "It was like one of those dreams where you go to school and you realize you don't have any pants on," he says. "All of a sudden we had come out of the studio and we were onstage, and I hadn't had a chance to rehearse or go over any of the stuff again. It was just like playing on the fly."

 


His dream notwithstanding, he says the band is set to go. "I looked at some clips yesterday, and seeing us playing live onstage in front of an audience, I got really excited about it," he says. "And I can't wait to play the new stuff, because I think that the fans are going to be really pleasantly surprised by the new direction that we've taken our music."

My response: *lol* for real! Imagine the look on the poor man's face being congratulated out of the blue like that! Hahaha... wow, talk about pressure!

Bet if nothing else that made for interesting conversation around the dinner table with his family and friends (not to mention girlfriend!) hahaha. Poor Bobbert...

Don't rush the poor man - I'm sure one day he will break all our hearts with upcomming nuptuals, I'm just hoping that when that day comes someone at least has the decency to tell the groom-to-be! *******

Hey just a couple of days ago my sis came up with a idea about a story where LP go Medieval!! Many people are included in this, both LP and non-LP-related but of course as true Robsessors we focus on our eternally worshipped Lord, Lord Bourdon!! (his name has a perfect ring to it doesn't it?) I just thought that making an image of him would be quite cool!!! Therefore, here I present Lord Bourdon in all his noble glory!!! ;)

Oooooh sis! Its perfect! And if that dont keep the fires of inspiration burning I dont know what else will! Though as far as the story idea goes you'd have to be a mage or sth in it though cause clearly you work some amazing magic my sweet! <3

like i said b4 count me in on it can i be in charge of coming up with the stupid ideas that wont ever work? oh and call me sticks, thats the nickname my brothers band has given me, due to my obsession with drums (*cough* rob *cough*) so ill take that nick name. oh and deryk is in on it too, says you all could use some one who is innocent to keep us grounded (hes helping my grandmother with her busted arm right now. he wont be on till his shifts over) can the in flight movie be frat party?

lol how about we show LP dvd's and eat rob shaped pizza on the plane. Rob might not think too highly of the pizza tho. (rubs hands together maliciously) when do we get this little party started?

It's certainly someone who decided to ruin the photo!!! WHO would EVER dare get in front of our Lord when a photo of him is taken??? Hahaha thanks though Josi!!! Hmmm lumberjack!!! *drools*

yes now lets get rob on the private CoB jet taht I stole i mean borrowed. does any one know how to fly a plane? hope so cuz i dont. (sings foo fighters learning to fly) i bet robs lawyer has all of our numbers on speed dial rav so dont feel bad.

nononoooo..phi!!! *drags blindfolded robby from the jet* we can't take rob!! that's not part of the plan! we have to do what we want with him (doesn't that sound nice) and then WE take off!! unless we take him and kill him afterwards *thinks very deeply*...no, i don't think such perfection should be disabled from the world :) haha... so we'll take it step by step... first we need that pizza! where is meteora500??? we need our food!

Hmmm...my code name can be...Big-Rock-Thing-in-Greece?.... :( no...thats not right...I'll just be Billy cause thats my real life nickname. Gang-Bang Bourdie Clan eh? I like the sound of that. It kinda rolls off the tounge. Haha...if Frat Party is the in flight movie, we're gonna end up watching the bus tour part over, and over, and over, and over...but its all good. OH and those pizzas! I'll get right on those! *runs into the kitchen to make lots and lots of Rob shaped pizzas* I might need some help with all these pizzas Brokenangel! or...BrokenTorturer.... ;)

PS...Rav thats and awesome pic! I love it.
