I was trying to compliment the sonofabitch. Calling Obama the Messiah, et. al., is not a metaphor. A metaphor is a figure of speech in which a term or phrase is applied to something to which it is not literally applicable in order to suggest a resemblance, as in “A mighty fortress is our God.” or "addicted to oil". I think what you mean to say, calling Obama the Messiah is a hyperbolic statement. Which is a literary term used to describe how something, someone can be exaggerated. I guess, it can also be a form of verbal irony (ie sarcasm). How, when, where has the name calling helped him? Is he starting to think that he is the Annointed One? The name calling, yes, is a little unfair and silly. The accusations should fly like dicks around Nancy Pelosi's mouth. "Politickin' old school". I'm not a big opponent to government assistance for education.I went to college on the GI Bill, but the taxpayers and government owed me that much for risking my neck in the Gulf War. I served four years and I took four years, we are even and I am ever grateful. The American People are grateful, too, or at least the folk in my hometown were proud to see me return. Grants, allowances, etc for education, issued by the government, should be earned on merit. Either in the service of the country, outstanding community service, and/or academic acheivements. I am a proponent to welfare and the support of those who suck the teet of governemnt. Lazy, leeching Americans will be forced to look for work and this will push illegal immigrants out jobs and hopefully back home. Suddenly, back-breaking labor doesn't sound so bad when you're homeless and starving. Now I do believe in some assistance to those in dire need, but they should be privately funded through charities and similar organizations. Not on my dollar! My dollar will go to the charity that I decide and not through a government agency and then to a single mother who can't keep her legs closed. The government dictates how you ought to live your life with every penny spent on welfare.
