I give Obama some credit for showing some support for these people in Iran but I can't get past his need to wait for the opinion polls to come out before he takes a stand on an important issue. Sometimes leadership is not popular. People being shot in the street for daring to question the election seems to me an easy call on the human side of the issue even if he wanted to keep his distance on the political side. I have said all along that Iran will never behave, Obama was called nieve by his own vice-President and his Secretary of State while he was running for office, maybe they were onto something?

Kindness and compassion are never a bad thing. Your not a bad person for being human, nobody wants to be taken advantage of or abused so your avoiding her at her greatest need would certainly be perfectly understandable under the circumstances. The only thing I think about is the child, you say the child is now self absorbed and messed up from being isolated in her world of tutilage from these two woman but I wonder if you showing up in that time of need if those years of being a "dad" like person would not have broken through that and let her lean on you a little, that is if you would do that for the child. You have to assume that the long illness her mother went through was also very rough on the child as well, that could add to her poor attitude your talking about I am sure. But again, no your not a bad person for doing what 99% of all humans would have done in this situation.

I agree with what Chi said about us all being different. Consider how boring the world would be if we were all the same? All believed the same things. All looked the same. All liked the same foods and the same music, if we were exactly the same as everyone else we would all either die of boredom or kill each other off because as they say, opposites attract, the same will only piss us off. Obviously you 'feel' you have a right to edit my personal info from your anger because your actually doing it. The funny thing is they all said the same about me. If you have strong beliefs in God and strong stable morals they don't even believe you should be listened to. To them a change of a law also changes the morals as in an abortion. Man has done bad things in his time on this world, anger and passion can cause a human to make mistakes in judgement in the heat of the moment, but it has always been our foundation of moral principles based in faith that has offered us the ability to look at what we did and correctly judge our actions after the passion fades. This is how we kept ourselves honest. Athiests want to take away this element of society. This removal of solid morals is what allowed men like hitler to do what he did, everything from raw murder to the medical experimentation on live humans was all made possible by setting aside their God insired morals in favor of the Athiest belief structure where laws and rules set by a man was the only consideration for their actions.
