I spend more time in the general area than the Linkin Park area, maybe we should setup some forums for us lot who like chatting/blogging etc :)

thanks everyone =)

yeah I will see many of you via msn or something, which makes me glad.

wow I can't believe I have over 10.000 posts on here...but thankfully it hasn't been all time wasted

ace I think that's an ace idea

there was this place a while back called myehangout.com, started by ATLien (founder of lpf) that was just this general forum about no one subject in particular

that was in 2005 I think

died out pretty soon

but I think another try would be cool, if I can help anyone with that in any wya I shall be glad

alright I figured I might as well make some entries while I'm here

looks like I might stick around for some more time before I leave

the sessions have been postponed thank ***, I'm swamped with homework right now...

did take some time this weekend and today to buy one distortion pedal, and then a new guitar yeeehaa

love the feeling of a new guitar

started another band, maybe I said that here like 9459385903 times already but I'm excited about it :D

I'm still in my old band as well, gotta have enough projects going, that's iceland

here's what my new guitar looks like:

http://www.offtopic.forum/data/MetaMirrorCache/d3efb83244fa569fb1ec3b3119769e09.jpg

yeap

my band plays something like 10-15 mins long grand post-rock pieces on 3 guitars and a bass...should be interesting

maybe I can upload something sometime...if we can get studiotime

one hopes

uhm yeah I probably have more to say lol

oh right I'm graduating from gymnasium (european school system)

so this friday the graduates have to entertain the rest of school...lol

my group was thinking of doing some baywatch stuff with spray-tan on haha

that wouldve been interesting with my icey white body but unfortunately we wont make it, too little time to coordinate

I should be finishing my essay in german...can't be arsed right now though...although it's due tomorrow heh

but yeah

my friend and I recently did a presentation in german. man that was hard...=_=

we did about rammstein lol

pretty funny

played a live vid of mein teil...the cannibalism song

ahh and I'm uploading a playlist soon, I'll prolly make a thread here as well

introducing some music to this german guy (everything's german these days haha) on lpprojekt.com

mostly metal and post-rock, so if anyone's interested they can dl once I up it on here

tusk - the everlasting taste of disguise

capricorns - comrades in tears

celestine - despair

explosions in the sky - first breath after coma

mono - the kidnapper bell

björk - all is full of love

broken social scene - guilty cubicles

dr. spock - chow pow

isis - dulcinea

machine head - aesthetics of hate

opeth - dirge for november

sigur rós - sæglópur

cult of luna - dim

children of bodom - hate crew deathroll

fear factory - full metal contact

miri - brekka

tat's the tracklist

hopefully you haven't heard much of this and are willing to explore new things :D

lol. anyway, you know, if one person likes one new song, good news.

if you dont like the harshness of metal just ignore those tracks or something

miri is very beautiful for example however...so.

anyway Im rambling...anything to have an excuse from not doing homework

like I said Im swamped

which really sucks when you're lazy :p haha

wow

just wanted to say though, if anyone reads this, thanks. I feel weirdly thankful to this place although I am leaving soon.

thanks! =)

yeah great music, hope you enjoy it

there is some stuff like explosions there I think but there's more metal

in one case (Cult of luna) they start off post-rock, then they change it into kind of doom metal, it's really interesting

but yeah small update

lately there have been protests against high oil prices here

professional truck drivers have been closing off many roads

which has been controversial, cause they haven't told anyone, so ambulances haven't been able to get past...

and two days ago a crowd gathered at a protest place and there was actually a riot, for the first time in iceland since 1968, fourty years ago

actually the police kind of instigated it, that's been very disputed as well

weird ****

anyway yesterday there were speculations about a protest downtown in front of parliament, so I went there to check since I was down there anyway but there wasn't anything

I was thinking of calling **** to the police, they clearly overreacted in my opinion, brought maze, which they sprayed on people doing nothing...for example.

but nothing happened, so I went away.

so yesterday was the first day of summer (yeah I ask myself too, WHY on earth now, lol)

so there was a small concert downtown, that's why I was there

which was really nice, it was with this band that's actually kinda like the explosions in the sky of iceland

http://www.myspace.com/foraminorreflection

they make such beautiful music, and they're great live

so today was dimission, we the graduates entertaining the rest of school

me and some friends were planning on doing a baywatch scene with spraytan and those red shorts lol

but we couldn't get it done in time

so I just wore this really weird green hat that looks like something sigur rós would wear

kinda like this except green:

http://image.listen.com/img/356x237/8/5/6/0/660658_356x237.jpg

so I didn't have any scene to entertain with though, only thing I did was dance on stage when everyone graduating did

it was fun

I haven't exactly been a model citizen on here lately anyway so I figure you're not losing any valuable asset.
WTF?! Lies! All lies! haha Look I want you to be happy but don't think you won't be missed cause you will be. I think for many of us there's a degree of apathy on the boards now, I stay on for a few key things, a handful of people, and basically that's it. We all have (I think) friends in this place and while I know interest has waned over time yes there are other forums to get together and catch up. Life's been busy for all of us. No excuse, just busy - and easily distracted. But you and Vash (esp you) are like one of the backbones of this virtual community for me. I remember the 'good old days' *groans* with fondness. Ah memories. But we all move on. Keep moving or stagnate. Empathize with your sentiment.

Anyways just wanted to drop by and say a long overdue hello - and by the looks of it goodbye. The guitar is sweet. Oh and that thing about the proposed Baywatch skit that didn't eventuate cracked me up out loud hardcore! :D Funny **** right there! ****, pity we couldn't see you do that and load it on YouTube or something. Hahahaha. Oh mercy!

Well hey congrats with the band/s, best of luck getting studio time, hope it works out and you get what you want and where you want to be out of it. Music seems to be a big and consistent part of your life. Good luck there friend. Can't wait for the day I see your face on MTV and tell everyone I know here 'Hey I know that dude! I knew him before he was famous!' Or hey, whatever happens with it. Good luck anyway. Y'all deserve it.

As for graduation - again congratulations! I don't know squat about that schooling system (and why would I?) but hey the word graduate is universal I reckon. So hey cool job there. And if you haven't already get your **** into that assignment. Could be a late reprimand but hey, consider it a friendly suggestion, however belated it may be ;) Again, congrats Frib/Vi/all the other names I've called you over the years.

*nostalgic sigh*

**** this place is starting to feel like a mortuary here...

All the best with your future endeavors, good luck, have a blast, take care and maybe one day we'll touch base again. Miss ya already my Viking. Place is gonna suck hardcore without ya.

*hugs*

lol

can't believe how I missed replying to this...wow attention not so much working. anyway

backbones...I feel so many backbones have left long ago. I remember the good old days of my journal being active, the fribby ltd company going strong, and all the messed up game section threads and the time when there were far more journals I loved going to everyday, like 10-15 when it was most...

I guess me and vash are one of the last few

there's azem obviously, he's been here longer than me, but he's never been part of this journal community

apathy...indeed. that's what I've felt largely for the past year, for some reason. and I mean nostalgia doesn't cut it. I'm not being a good member just complaining about the good old days, hence why I'm leaving, partly.

I will miss our conversations. I will however try and read your stories any way I can, after I leave. they are one of the few things still keeping me here, it's been so great reading these stories, and I don't even remember how long you've been writing for us, it's been a **** of a ride.

haha thanks, my friend. music is indeed my life really. if I hadn't started playing I seriously don't know where in life I'd be right now. it's been my blessing and a saviour.

sorry to disappoint but we won't be on mtv :D haha

all I want is to play music for people...better to go on stage and then go home without police escort, lol

again, thanks for all the memories...and yes mortuary much indeed really very so. great grammatical sentence once again by me lol

alright today was weird. today was my last schoolday at my current school...it was a bit bittersweet

I'll go there four more times and then it's all over, I'll be graduated and onto other things

I was pretty sad to leave actually, thought a lot about the symbolic last steps I took when I left the building...

my last class was an extra class in japanese. it was great to have that as a last ever class, great people there, good humor, fun stuff. the teacher is great too

and then I stepped out and drove home, with a really fitting song in my ears, Over the Pond by the Album Leaf.

really great sweet song, here's a link, I recommend this

http://www.mediafire.com/?2ytdtnxyddz

first of may is tomorrow, day of the fight/struggle of the workers, as it's called here (sounds better in icelandic lol)

so that's a day off. not that it matters, the exams are beginning, my only exams are on the 7th and the 15th. then at the end of the month I'll start working at the postal service for the summer. then it's uni...
