Hey guys, me again. Not much happening at the moment. Waiting to collect my mysterious package that's just arrived at the post office... hope it's not a letter bomb or something *s******s* I'm hoping its my VERY LONG OVERDUE LPU4 package (this week makes it 8 weeks I've been waiting! Yes, 8!! The official word is there was a delay due to the calender errors or something, but I'm starting to think I've been shafted... *grrr* Time will tell on that score I guess)
The kittens are running all over my feet and climbing up my legs at the moment, you'd swear there was 30 ppl in here instead of just me and the four of them *laughs* It's a pity I don't have a digital camera or I'd post a pic, very adorable. But it's nearly time for them to leave the nest and go off to their new homes *sigh* It's sad in a way. I've seen their little personalities emerge over the last 5 weeks, and they're growing up so fast! (Listen to me, I sound like a **** mother or something! *chuckles*) Anyway...
Bought something else last night you may find interesting; The band's sigs from Ozzfest (from 2001, I think). Cost me $50-ish, and now I'm officially laying low on the spending. In the last 3 days I've blown HALF of my Christmas savings account, and we're almost half way through the year, so that kind of sucks. But, on the other hand, if I get what I've been led to believe I've been sold (does that make sense?) then I should have quite a nice collection of genuine merch accumulating. In essence, that amounts to;
* 2 x Rob's drumsticks (1 apparently used in concert, one apparently tossed into crowd)
* 2 x 4x6 photos of Rob playing live
* 1 x Rob's signature (original, NOT pre-print)
* 1 x Chas, Mike, Phoenix, Joe, BBB & Rob's signatures on separate cards (NOT pre-prints)
* 1 x Band's signatures (minus Chester) on one card (NOT pre-prints)
* 1 x Band poster, unsigned
On top of that I also bought something called 'Linkin Park - Conspiracy Theory' which is an unauthorised biography DVD on the guys. Not too sure how that one works out but we'll soon find out I guess! I have kind of worn out LIT and Frat Party so it'll be a nice change to watch them in something else, hopefully! *cross fingers*
Anyway, I've shown you what the drumsticks look like, so here's the Ozzfest sigs for your perusal, see what you think!
So, while I kick back and wait and see if I've been ripped off, I'm gonna go wander through some other journals and see what's happening, just to kill some time.
BTW, thanks to everyone for stopping by. I know it's not the most exciting journal in the world, but it does help me feel connected to the broader spectrum of humanity, and you guys are kind of like my family away from my family, so that's awesome too! *BIG SQUEEZE HUGS*

No, it wasn't my LPU4 pack... *grumble* It was my 'Conspiracy Theory' DVD. I'm not terribly impressed with it... it's okay I guess, it's LP, and looks nice amid the collection, but it's not really any more informative than anything else I've seen of them. Pretty... um... precocious, really. And my DVD is crapping itself I think, would only play it in B&W but my comp played it just fine *shrug* No, it's got nothing to do with region (which here down under is 4 btw) but really my machine, I think... made weird noises when I tried watching National Treasure last night... *groan* Guess I should'nt have went on a spending spree @ eBay and bought a new DVD player instead, huh???
Nah... I stand by my decisions, mostly *sneaky grin*
So, I shall continue waiting for my pack... and waiting... and waiting...

Hybrid-Heart, why don't you join? What, folks won't let you, huh? Trust me... you should. I don't want to shamelessly plug the band (even though we are in the right forum to do it!) but any self respecting fan should be! You get the coolest stuff... (eventually... HOPEFULLY! Well, I did last year alright, but this year...) You need to pilage, plunder, scrimp and save... trust me, it's worth it! You don't even have to refer me (though I wouldn't mind in the least if you did *grins*) just for own sake, do it... just... try...

I don't have too much of their live stuff, so there you go, we're probably on an equal par. I guess it depends on how fanatical/financial you are. It would be great to snavel up every possible LP thing I came across but unfortunately few of us can afford it. The fact we buy their albums, attend their shows (if we're able) and join their fan club is probably all that really matters, at least to the band themselves. After all, when all's said and done, it all comes down to the music, and all the pictures, videos, drumsticks, tee shirts and so on don't really make that big a difference. It's just an added bonus... kind of like Chocolate topping on chocolate ice cream, with chocolate sprinkles, and those crumbled up cookie things... *mmmm - drools*
Anyway, I think you get the picture, right? (what, that I like chocolate?)*laughs*
SS1, you can probably buy an LP signed guitar, there's like 5 on there at the mo. Depends on your cash flow. But then I don't think I'd play it if I bought one, so... yeah, I guess this statement's redundant then, isn't it? *laughs* Happy saving/hunting!

My F*&^ing ***, you have had a shopping spree while I have been away. Man you are in big hot goss when I get back. I love it, not fair but I love it. Wish I was home I just can't wait to get back. Yeah, can't wait for you to come home neither. Place is real quiet (when cats aren't screaming and neighbours aren't screaming and... yes, the neighbours have been arguing on and off all day. Something about money. I heard the words 'B**ch' and 'money' quite frequently, so... I just turned LP up real loud and drowned them out. They're currently laying low now which is nice). Yeah, have been writing busily. Not as much as I could have been I guess. LPF and eBay have been my main distractions... and Linkin the kitten. I think I've fallen for the little guy, he's claimed me as his new Mummy. He's been sitting with me nearly all day and keeps following me everywhere, calling out to me... he loves cuddling up behind my back as I type... uncomfortable for me but warm for him, I guess. Nug is still her moody self. Think she may be going on heat again *faints* so... yeah, not good. Zed is... well, Zed. I'm good, broke but good. And contemplating setting the turtle free *ewww - shudders* It's cool here (14 at the mo) and not much else is going on of excitement to rave about. I'm up to page 215 in SIB, thought I'd gloat about it. *grins* Trying to avoid the temptations of eBay even now... I need a 12 step program already and I've only really been into it for like 5 days *gasp* I feel like an addict! (See what happens when you leave me to my own devices??? *lol*)

As for the authenticity of sigs, depends, some are some arent. For instance, I was looking at so-called 'genuine autographed' LP pictures last night for auction and had to laugh. I know the guys' signatures pretty well by now, so I check them out. At least two were blatant frauds, blatant, just... stupid really. Some, the more expensive ones have COA's (apparently, though that's also interesting, do they get LP to authenticate a legal document too, huh?) and some, most, are Pre-prints (copies of originals sold as 'genuine original copies' if you get that logic) but if you study things close enough you can generally tell. A few I don't doubt, there's photos of the members signing it, but then I think "Why go through the trouble of getting the band to sign it in the first place if you're just going to sell it?" That's like... stupid to me, but I guess not everyone are such LP fans and are just oppertunistic, looking to cash in on those of us that are. *sigh*
With mine I was in contact with the seller a lot (harrassed him pretty much) but you can also tell a lot by what else they sell. At least three sellers have contacts to the music industry (whether its washing dishes out back *huh?* or whatever) and auction off things from the unknown and up and coming bands to the old time geezer league, etc, so, y'know, I'd like to think a few just might be telling the truth. Many have photos as proof. Just shop around and do your homework, that's probably the best way to go.
BTW, how do you eat a guitar?? ****** a Rob brow* And why would you want to? *Imagines choking on the fret board like a cat with a furball* That's just funny in itself! *laughs* Cool.
