In the area were Patrick had his seizure in, Brad, Phoenix and Linsey walked through as Jennifer was crying loudly.

“Oh, ***, she must be hunger. Hold on. Just --” Linsey said seating down on the ground leaning against a beam.

“You know, the cave-ins change the topography of the caves. This is the closes to where I got out” Phoenix said.

“Yeah, well, that doesn’t do us much good, Phoenix, unless someone less is trying to get in. You know what I’m saying?” Brad said.

“You know, a positive attitude couldn’t hurt”

“Neither would a healthy dose of reality”

“This is still the shortest way from outside, ok? Now either you argue with me or you help me find a way out?”

The sound of humming made then both stop arguing and look at Linsey. She was humming ‘Mocking Bird’ to Jennifer. The sound of some music had made Jennifer stop crying.

******

Back at the train, Robin found a bottle of medicine in one of the suite cases and then started zipping it back up. Chester walked up to the opening of the cave-in wall and saw Robin.

“Your Robin right?” he asked.

Robin turned her head to look at him, “Yes, and I believe your Chester Bennington” she stood up, “It’s nice to finally meet you” she shook his hand, “Don’t think I’m a crazy fan I’m Monica’s cousin”

“I heard from Jen and I’m grateful that you’re helping Anna and the baby” he said as Talinda, Rob and Patrick walked through the opening, “This is Talinda and her husband Rob Bourdon” Chester said introducing them to her.

“Robin Vane” she said shaking their hands and slightly turned her head to see Patrick sitting down on a rock and she frowned noticing that something was wrong with him, “Where’s Jen? What --”

“She’s finding a way out” Chester said.

“Yea. In the mean time she wanted us to get Patrick to you quickly as possible” Talinda said. Robin moved to sit down in front of Patrick as Talinda, Rob, and Chester walked a little bit away to get into the train.

“Headache or seizure?” Robin asked.

“Both, I -- I think. I fell in one of the tunnels”

“And you’re sitting here telling me about it when by all mean you could be dead. You must have some guardian angel” Robin said.

******

In the tunnel were Jen and Hector were fighting, Jen slowly got up coughing. She slowly turned her head and then her body on to her back slowly getting up. She looked around for any signed of the manic, Hector, when she saw a pile of rocks and slowly got up. She slowly walked over to the pile of rocks and looked at it for a few seconds, knowing that Hector was under them. Jen walked away not knowing that Hector was too alive and was moving his hand out of a small crack in between to rocks.

******

“Hector’s crazier than I am” Sam said as she was in her father’s car as he was driving.

“Let’s try not to think about him” her father said.

“He tried to kill me. I had to fight him off. I had to hit him in the head with a rock, and then he shot at me. So I shot him back and I thought I killed him, but he got away”

“You know? It’s okay you’re alive. That’s all the matters” her father said as he turned on to a different street.

“Where you taking me?” she asked knowing that he wasn’t taking her to her mother’s like she wanted to.

“Just try and get some rest, all right”

“Your taking me back to Rose Lawn, aren’t you?” she asked looking at him, “You think I’m crazy, you think I made this whole thing up”

“Sam, you need to calm down”

“Stop the car! Stop the car or I’ll jump! I swear I will!” she yelled turning her body and started going for the handle on the car door.

“Sam, Sam --” he said locking the door so she could open to door.

“You open this --” she said when she found out he locked the door.

“Stop it, all right” he said reaching out to her still keeping his eyes on the road.

“Open the door!” she yelled.

“Stop it. I’m not going to hurt you” he said and reaching out to her again taking his eyes off the road, but she pulled away not wanting him to touch her. Then he glanced out the window. Sam grabbed the wheeled and made him merged into the other lane of an oncoming car and her father quickly turned the wheel.

Sam’s father was able to miss the car and slammed on the breaks when he swerved onto the sided of the road, “Sam --” he said and tried to calm himself down then turned to look at her “You could of killed us both” he said.

Sam moved her hand to her forehead shakily, “I’m sorry, but I’m not going back to Rose Lawn. I hate it”

“I understand that, but you to listen to me. Someone will found out that you missing sooner or later and they will call the police, they will investigate and they will find out that you were on the train”

“Hector was on that train. Two other girls saw him” she moved her off the forehead and pointed her finger at her father.

“So let those girls tell the police to search for Hector. You don’t have to get involved”

She then moved her hand back to her forehead, “I need to see my son”

“Sam --” her father started to say and sighed, “You have been committed to a mental hospital. If you refuse to go back, you’ll only make things worse for yourself”

XD That just cracked me up - probably more so because I can actually imagine them saying things like that to each other - haha. Nice comedic element despite the harshness around them... even if it was sarcastic. What is sarcasm anyway but a funny observation delivered in a witty fashion? Excellent anyway. Very human.
And this;

“Oh, well, what can I tell you? It still gives me perverse pleasure -- defying you” Mike said sitting down all the way.
Anna grabbed his hand and brought it up to her face resting it against her check. She then turned her head and kissed his hand, “I’m grateful that you’re here” she said bringing her right hand up to his face.

“I wouldn’t be anywhere else” he said.
Was just beautiful. Aww. Mike is so sweet in this, despite tragic events. I just love this emotional depth you have created between all of your characters - it is to be commended. Just sweet in a real and honest way.
Funny thing is I actually found myself feeling sad for Sam at the end of this last update. It seems despite the events that led to her being committed she's really just a victim to what everyone else thinks is what's best for her. Poor lass.

*hugs*

Great as always. Look forward to more!

Chapter 23

At the Glencoe tunnel, Robin finished looking at Patrick, she got up and walked a little bit away to think to herself. Chester walked over to her since he hadn’t yet gone onto the train.

“Do you think Patrick is fine?” he asked.

“I’m not sure, I not a doctor in that field. I work with people who are infected by AIDS. Though I could tell you that there is this experimental drug that I have in my brief case, but unfortunately I don’t have it with me. It was on the commuter train when it exploded”

“Okay, what are Patrick’s chances of surviving?”

“Not good. But he hasn’t had a thorough examination yet. I don’t even know what his test results will show”

“Ok, will look for the drug" he said and turned to see Monica coming out of the train.

“Ok” Robin said.

“I thought you were clear of this?” Chester asked his band mates wife.

“Did Robin tell you?” Monica asked.

“Tell me what? What?”

“Anna had her baby. It’s a little girl”

“Well that’s good news” he said.

“Not exactly” she said and Chester turned to look at Robin not knowing what the **** happen.

“I’m sorry, Chester. Anna isn’t going to make it” Robin said. Chester looked at her in shock, knowing what would happen to his band mate, if Anna did died before the rescue crews came, since he had felt the same way when he committed Sam to Rose Lawn.

******

Back over to Linsey, Phoenix and Brad, Linsey got up a walked over to Phoenix, surprised that she got Jennifer to sleep. Phoenix turned to see his wife, “Hey” he said to her.

“Isn’t she amazing, this tiny, perfect little girl? Yes”

“Yea, she’s beautiful you look amazing holding her. I can’t wait to have our own someday”

Linsey looked up from the baby and smiled at Phoenix. The sound of footsteps approaching made Phoenix look up and saw Brad coming back after he check to see if the tunnel was clear.

“Hey” Linsey said when she saw him.

“I see we got a clear path for about 500 yards. We should keep going” Brad said.

“All right, well, what happens if we don’t make it on time?” Linsey asked as Phoenix started walking and Brad answered her question.

“I’m sure there will be people who -- who can take care of Jennifer”

“I wasn’t talking about Mike and Anna. I mean, if they don’t make it, what’s going to happen to their little girl?”

“Then Monica and I will take her. Will take her and love her like our own.”

******

Chester came on to the train and knocked on the side panel of where the door used to be at. Mike looked behind him and saw that it was Chester. He came in a little, "I hear congratulations are in order” he said.

“Come on in” Anna said moving her head.

“Just lay back” Mike said as she lifted her head up.

“Sorry to interrupt” Chester said as he walked into the room further and kneeled down beside Anna as Mike moved back a little.

“I’m glad to see you” she said, “I wanted to have a word with the both of you”

“Help’s on the way” Chester said.

“I want you to take her” Anna said.

“Nobody’s dying here. I’m surprised you’d even ask” he said.

“I’ll remember who you really are...” she moved her hand and touched his chest “...In here. I want you to be that for her. Promise me”

“With all my heart”

“I have a request for the both of you” she said.

“What is it?” Mike asked.

“I want all six of you, everyone in the band, including the girls, too. I want all you to help Mike raise Jennifer, especially if he misses something up. Especially you Chester, since you have Draven, and tell him if he’s done something wrong. I want you guys to let her be the best she can be. And if you do she may teach you something in return” Anna said touching Chester’s face and he turned his head looking at Mike.

Continuing Chapter 23

Outside of the train, Monica was sitting with Patrick cleaning a cut that he had on his forehead and looked behind her at Talinda and Rob who were sitting near the tracks.

“Talinda I need that bottle of vodka over there” Monica said pointing to the bottle she had brought out that was near Talinda’s legs.

“Yeah, I could use a drink right about now myself” she said picking it up and handed it to Monica.

“Robin and I have been using it as an antiseptic” Monica said taking it out of her hand.

“Yeah”

Chester and Robin came walking down the pile of rocks that was near the track to get out of the train.

“Talinda? Rob? Robin and I are going to the train to find some medicine for Patrick that may help him” Chester said.

“Yeah” Talinda said standing up as Rob did too.

“I’d ask you both to come along, but Rob, Talinda’s hurt”

“I understand” Rob said.

“I’m fine, Chester, really” Talinda said.

“No, no, you’re not fine, Talinda” Rob said looking at her “You’re just saying that”

“Rob’s right Talinda, you need to sit this one out. Beside, at this point, I think Mike may need the both of you as a friend” Chester said and walked over to Robin who was near Monica.

******

Jen ran down a tunnel and stopped to catch her breath for a second. She looked around and then took off again. Not following too far behind her was Hector, who was holding a bomb and had the backpack full of explosives from the fireman. He made sure that Jen wasn’t coming back and casually looked for a place to hide the bomb, since his plans were to blow up the tunnel. He placed it under a rock and put some dirt on it so no one would know it was there. He got up and picked up the backpack and continued walking down the tunnel.

******

Patrick slowly got up and walked over to a rock that was in front of him, “Patrick, you shouldn’t be moving” Monica said getting up and walking over to him.

“I can’t -- I can’t let Jen and Robin take all the risk” he said.

“Do you love her? Robin I mean”

Patrick looked at Monica, “Yeah -- yeah I do” he said.

“Once we get out of here, you should tell her. If you don’t then you don’t deserve her” she said and walked back to the tracks and sat down.

“Is that your medical opinion?” he asked.

“Oh, just a suggestion base on my own experiences, after all she’s my cousin.” She said cleaning up what she had used, “You shouldn't push this, Patrick. We don’t know what’s wrong with you. You’re in no condition to go after Robin or Jen or anyone else. Are you listening to me?” She said and turned her head and saw that Patrick was gripping the rock tightly as he was experiencing another headache. Monica dropped what she was doing and quickly got up and went over to him, “Patrick --” she started saying and let him lean back on her. Talinda got up and walked over to them to see if she could help just in case it turned into a seizure.

******

Chester and Robin made it to the commuter train and started looking around inside for her brief case.

“Is this it?” Chester asked holding up another case.

“No” Robin said as she moved some suit cases around to try and find her brief case.

“I haven’t even asked how you are” he said as he continued looking.

“Oh...oh, all things consider, I’m guess I’m good” she said still looking around.

“You’re in New York right? I remember Brad saying before he married Monica that they were trying to get her cousin down from New York for the wedding. How is it there?”

“Good. Busy, but good” she said when they heard a noise. Chester got in front of Robin. The both of them were glad to see it was Jen.

“Hey, it’s me” Jen said.

“Jen. Did you find anything out there?” Chester asked.

“I came close, but some psycho exploded the rescues tunnel”

“Was it a woman?” he asked praying that it wasn’t Sam and that it wasn’t true she was down in the tunnel.

“No it was a men and I’m sure of it. But I’m sure he maybe dead now” she said.

“Come here. Hold on” he mention to Jen letting her go by him and bent down to pick up what he saw. When he came up he saw that it was Sam’s bracelet, “Patrick was right. Sam was on the train”

Chapter 23 part 1

Inglewood, California

About a couple miles away from the crash site, Sam’s father had managed to get Sam to agree to go back to Rose Lawn. He now stood outside of her door as Doctor Brad Kim walked up to him.

“Thank *** you found her” The doctor said.

“I knew Sam would be to frighten to stray very far” Sam’s father said.

“You said you found her in the woods”

“That’s right”

“She looks like she’s been crawling through them”

“Has Sam said anything to you?”

“Just an ‘I’m sorry’. Has this incident made you consider the drug regime I recommended?”

“I find myself in a peculiar position agreeing with Mr. Bennington. I don’t want my daughter medicated” he said.

******

In the Glencoe tunnel, Phoenix, Brad and Linsey reached a dead end at the tunnel they were walking in.

“The rescue crews have been here…” Phoenix said picking up some rope that was on the ground, “It means they’ll try again”

“Yeah, I think that this cave-in was caused by a blast” Brad said looking at the freshly new pile of rocks, “When will they be here?”

Phoenix put down the rope and walked over to Brad, “This is our best chance out. Come on…” Brad looked like he wasn’t too sure about getting out this way, “Look either you trust me on this or we go back and we let faith decide”

Brad looked down at Linsey who was sitting down on the rocks holding baby Jennifer, “All right” he said and started to help move some of the rocks with Phoenix. Linsey looked back down at the baby and gently rocked her.

“She’s cold” Anna said as Mike had just finished putting another blanket underneath Anna when she turned slightly to her side.

“Who?” Mike asked.

“Our baby girl”

“Jennifer is going to be fine, Anna, ok?” he said reassuring her. He paused looking at her, “So many things I want to say to you”

“No, not now. No regrets, no apologies. Just -- just focus on the good and the love” she said as Mike caressed her cheek. She closed her eyes.

Mike knew that her time was coming since he could feel it by the sudden drop in temperature, “You know I loved you”

“And I love you” Anna said opening her eyes and suddenly turned onto her side, “There’s a draft” she said.

“Wait, you fill that?” Phoenix asked holding his hand up near the rock feeling a slight bit of cool air coming through.

“Yeah” Brad said feeling it too.

“That’s a draft, there’s fresh air” Phoenix said.

“Yeah” he said. Then there was a sound of pounding, “Someone’s there” Brad said to himself.

“I hear something” Anna said and slowly turned to look at Mike, “It sounds like knocking”

The pounding continued getting louder where Phoenix and Brad were at. They knew that the rescue crew was working to getting it open up, “Hello, were in here!” Brad called out.

“Hurry up! We have an infant with us!” Phoenix called out too. Then there was a bright light coming through one of the small openings.

“I can see a light….It’s so bright” Anna said and Mike looked down at her hand that he was holding and felt her squeeze it tightly.

The detective came up to a large opening at the top of the pile and shined his flash light in through the opening and saw Brad, Phoenix and Linsey who was holding Jennifer, “Were going to get you guys out of here. You’re only 200 feet way from wipe-open space.”

Phoenix and Brad where gland that they were finally getting out and turned to look at Linsey, “It’s all right. We’re going to make it” Brad said.

“You’re all right” Linsey said to the baby, happy that they were finally getting out. She was hoping that Anna would hold on a little longer until the rescue crews could get all the way into the tunnel and reach the others.

Continuing Chapter 23 part 1

“She’s safe” Anna said softly, “Our baby’s safe” she said smiling slightly. He felt like dying with her…perhaps it was the thought of her slowly dying. He was losing the person he loved so much…the person he loved to death. She then slowly closed her eyes. Mike looked down at his hand as he felt her grip loosen becoming weak in his own hand. He started to softly cry as he let go of her hand and then placed his hand on top of hers.

He slowly looked up to see her face, seeing that she looked so peaceful. At least she had gone in peace and she wasn’t in pain, “Anna?” he called out, not wanting to believe that she was really gone. When there was nothing that came from her he lost it and broke down in tears taking a hold of her other hand filling that it was cold and moved it to her stomach. He then laid his head down on her stomach making his sobs muffle against the material of Anna’s dress. As he continued to cry it seemed like a part of him had died with her that night. He kept staring out straight in front of him into the slightly dark room of the train still holding her cold hand remembering the good times that they used to have between them…

He slowly let go of the kiss that they were sharing and leaned his forehead against her’s shakily breathing out, it wasn't because of the kiss that they just shared, it mainly was what he was going to do next that made him become nervous, “Anna?” he said softly.

“Hmm?” she asked with her arms wrap around his neck lightly, still in a daze over the kiss.

He moved his head up to look at her. She slowly opened her eyes looking at him, “You know I love you, right?” he asked her softly.

“Yeah” she whispered.

He paused to think of what to say next, “I want to spend the rest of my life with you…” he said as he reached into his pocket, taking a hold of the small velvet black box into his hand and pulling it out. He pulled further away from her which made Anna wonder what he was doing, but was shocked when he got down on one knee and held her left hand, “Anna will you marry me?” he asked her opening the velvet ring box.

She knew her answer, but was to shock to find the words to say it. After what seem like a long time she let out a ‘yes’, “Yes” she said louder smiling.

He would never be able to see her smile again, now that she was gone. At least he would still have it pictured somewhere safe in his memory…

“I love you Mike, with all my heart. I guess that it’s true that every girl dreams of their wedding to a prince and I know I found my prince charming in you. I will love you, honor you, and cherish you till death do us apart…”

Her vow was kept true even if they weren’t on good terms towards the end at least she had still loved him. Even if her greatest gift was the love for him, her most amazing gift was bringing Jennifer into the world, even if it ended her own life in the processes…

“Mike there’s something I need to tell you” Anna said standing near his chair as he was staring at the computer screen.

“What is it?” he asked not taking his eyes off the screen as he was working on something. If he turned around he would have seen her tear stain face.

“Mike, please, can you turn around” she said. He stopped what he was doing and turn around seeing that it look like she was crying.

“Anna? Honey, what’s the matter?” he asked softly gripping her hands and made her come a little closer to him.

“I -- I got back from the doctors visit I had”

“Did something bad happen?” he asked having her sit down on him, concerned as to why she looked like she had been crying.

“Not really”

“Then why does it look like you’ve been crying?”

“Because I’ve found out some good news today, well I’m hoping that it’s good once I tell you”

“What is it?”

“I’m -- I’m…” she found it hard to say it, “I’m pregnant…

Mike thoughts were broken when he felt someone’s hand touch his back. When he slowly looked up he was shocked at what he was seeing.

Chapter 24

Phoenix, Brad and Linsey walked out of the tunnel and into the triage area, “Excuse us. Careful, careful, careful” Phoenix said making sure no one ran into Linsey since she was holding Jennifer.

“Come on, someone help us, please” Brad said.

“We got a baby” Linsey said.

Several medical personals and the commissioner turned and looked at them. The commissioner stopped Brad and let Phoenix and Linsey go with some medical personals to have Jennifer checked out.

“How’s the mother of that baby?” he asked as the detective walked up to them.

“Not good. You know I could map out with the detective were the others are”

“All right” The commissioner said.

“Some are critical”

“We got a map right here” he said taking him to where the maps were at.

Linsey hand Jennifer over to the doctor that was in the triage area, “Thank you” she said as the doctor turned around and walked over to a stretcher to check Jennifer out.

“Thank you so much” Phoenix said and looked at Linsey, “It’s ok. It’s ok. We did it. We did it” he said putting his hand on her face touching her cheek and then moved it.

“Yeah, we did it. But Anna --” she started to say.

“I’m going to go back down with the rescue workers”

“Phoenix, I don’t think that’s a good idea”

“Listen to me. I’m going to be fine, ok, as long as you promise me, promise me that you’ll get some on to look at you, ok?”

“Yeah” she said softly feeling something wrong. She grabbed her stomach as she was experiencing some pain.

“Ok?” he asked her again not really hearing her and then noticed something was wrong, “What -- what is it?”

“Agh --” she let out as the pain grew stronger.

Phoenix put his arm around Linsey as she was about to fall over, “What is it? Linsey -- Linsey”

******

Inside the tunnel, Monica slowly put Patrick on the floor, “Stay with me, Patrick. Stay with me” she said.

“What can I do?” Talinda asked

“More water, please” Talinda slowly got up winching as her side was hurting, “Its ok, Patrick. It’s Monica. Monica. Ok, just hang in there. You’re going to be okay” Monica said to Patrick as he was slowly waking up.

The sound of something crashing made both Monica and Rob look over at Talinda as she crashed down on the floor out cold.

“Talinda!” Rob shouted getting up as fast as he could, going over to her.

******

At Rose Lawn, Sam who was now all cleaned up, went and picked up the picture of her, Chester and Draven that was on her night stand. She held the picture close to her and looked out the window really missing being with her family. A knock on the door broke her thoughts, she place the picture back down and turned to see her father coming into the room, “Sam? Hey” he said closing the door behind him and walked up to one of the chairs that was in the room, “I covered for you, no one suspects a thing”

“Thanks” she said softly.

“How are you?” he asked

“I’m scared” she walked slowly to the end of the bed sitting down and brought her legs up.

“You don’t need to be” he said walking over to her sitting down next to her, “I’m right here” he put his hand on her knee, “You never have to be afraid again” he said.

Sam closed her eyes and open them back up looking at her father, shaking her head, “You don’t understand. I’m afraid of myself”

******

Meanwhile at the tunnel, Chester was still looking at the bracelet in his hand, “Sam was on the train all along” he said

“It doesn’t make any sense. We were on the train, If she was on the train, why didn’t we see her before? Why didn’t she say anything to us?” Jen said.

Robin walked behind Chester and kneeled down seeing her brief case, “Ah! Found it!” Robin picked it up and turned around setting it down on some chairs. She tried unlatching the brief case and found that she couldn’t, “The lock is jammed” she said.

Chester remember the gun that Talinda had found on this same train which she handed to him, “Ok, moved out of the way, there’s one left on this gun” he said and Robin got up moving back to stand next to Jen as Chester took the gun out and aimd the gun at the brief case. He pulled the trigger back and shot the case.

Robin moved her hands from her ears and walked over to the brief case that was slightly open and opened it all the way picking up the medication, “Oh good. The medication is intact”

“Thank ***” Jen said, “All right, I’m going to go get Patrick. Meet you there” she turned around and walked away.

Robin took out a syringe and closed the brief case, picking it up to hold it close to her to so it would stay close. She held the bottle and syringe in her hand turning to face Chester.

“What are Patrick’s -- what are Patrick’s chances with this?” he asked.

“I have no guarantees, but I’ve seen some progress with it through the doctor who made it. First, we need to convince Patrick to take it” Robin said and then walked pass Chester.

Chester looked down at his hand to look at the bracelet. He then closed his fist and turned around to follow Robin, “I’m going to leave Patrick to you and Jen” he told her when they got off the train.

The sound of something being knocked over got Chester and Robin’s attention as they both look to their right and saw Hector the maniac, dragging Jen over to them holding a gun close to her. Hector stopped walking and smiled when he saw Chester, since he didn’t know that the band was trapped down here. Glad that he caused the accident he started to laugh a little, “No one down here is going to see the light of day ever again”

Continuing Chapter 24

Back at the antique train, Mike was shock to see Anna looking at him. He was so happy that his wife was alive that he didn’t feel that tears were running down his face.

“Why are you crying?” she asked.

“I thought I lost you”

“Are you sure I’m not dead?”

“I don’t think so. I don’t know how you did it but --” he moved his hand to her face resting his hand on her cheek.

“I’ve got a lot to live for”

Just amazed at her being alive he moved his other hand to her face and leaned down to kiss her. He let go and buried his face in her shoulder holding her close to him.

******

“Oh, my *** -- something’s wrong” Linsey said still in pain as Brad rushed over to Phoenix and her.

Phoenix turned to look at the doctor who was checking out Jennifer, “Somebody -- Somebody help us please” he said.

In the tunnel, Monica got up and went over to Talinda to help Rob out, “Talinda?”

“I’m ok”

“Talinda! Stop lying, you’re obviously hurting. Would you stop covering it up” Rob said slightly getting ****** at her

“I’m ok, really I am”

“Tell me what’s going on?” Monica asked

“I just -- I bent over a little too quickly, got a little dizzy, but I’m fine, I’m fine” she slowly starting to get up as Patrick was slowly trying to get up to.

Monica noticed that she was breathing heavily, “How long have you been having trouble breathing?”

“I just bruised my side. Really I’m ok”

Before Rob could say anything to Monica she turned to look at Patrick seeing that he was getting up, “Patrick, sit back down! All right, you’re not going anywhere!” she said getting up and going over to him stopping him from getting up any further.

“I got to find Sam”

******

“You’re a coward. Hiding behind a woman, Hector” Chester said.

“Hmm. Well, you’re the boss. Will play by your rules” Hector said and shoved Jen out towards Chester and Robin. Chester grabbed her so she wouldn’t fall. When she had a steady balance she moved back towards the train looking at Hector as he held the gun, aiming it at them, “So, now, who wants to die first. You?” he said pointing the gun at Robin.

In the background, the man who Hector shot in the shoulder walked slowly toward them. Jen saw him and looked at Chester who saw him, too. The man slowly back up when he saw what was going on.

“Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey. Nobody has to died, Hector” Jen said as Hector slowly lowered the gun, “This can all be over, ok? If you manage to get away from the police, I’m sure you can manage to get out of here, right?’

“I escaped to finish what I started. Chester, you have to lose everything”

“You’re after me --” he said pointing at himself, “Let the women go. Let them get away for a few minutes --” Jen looked at him shocked at what he said, “Since you hate me so much and you think it’s going to be worth what it’s going to cost you, Hector --” he paused, “Shoot me”

******

In the triage area, Linsey was sitting down on a stretcher still having some pain. The doctor who was checking Jennifer out turned around as a medical personal stayed to look after the baby.

“Oh, ***. I’m cramping” she said holding her stomach.

“Okay, just try to relax. Are you on your period?” the doctor asked taking a hold of her left hand to check her pulse.

“No”

“Are you pregnant?”

“Not that I know of…Ow!” she said winching.

“Ok, that’s fine. Where going to send you to the hospital anyways”

Brad looked up when he heard a helicopter coming closer to landing down, “The helicopters coming” he said walking a little further to the detective. The doctor walked to where Brad was at.

“Everything’s going to be ok, I promise” Phoenix said to Linsey.

“I guess I’ve should have been more careful. This is so stupid”

“Stop it, stop it. You’re going to be fine” he said wrapping his arms around her as she did the same.

“Tell the pilot to set up for a new born. Get the baby to Community and Mission Hospital” The doctor said to the detective.

Before the detective went walking away Brad stopped him, “Listen, Linsey’s got to go on the chopper, too” he said and the detective nodded.

“You’re after me --” he said pointing at himself, “Let the women go. Let them get away for a few minutes --” Jen looked at him shocked at what he said, “Since you hate me so much and you think it’s going to be worth what it’s going to cost you, Hector --” he paused, “Shoot me”
*gasp*NO! ***, my jaw dropped open when I read that.

And Lindsay and Talinda - what the **** is wrong with them? *worried sniffle*

Like... I'm freaking out here! Poor guys. Even though half of them are out of the tunnel it seems like the drama is far from over.

Yay... just the way I like it, hehe. >: )

Excellent as always. Waiting eagerly for more,

Chapter 25

Monica was on the train checking on Anna, who she had sitting straight up so she could check her out more. Mike was pacing the room and stopped when Monica spoke up, “Your pulse is stronger and the bleeding is diminished”

“I take it’s a good thing” Anna said as Monica slowly had her lean back down.

“Just lie still and try to relax. I think you’re going to be ok”

“Thank you, Monica” Mike said.

“No, thank Robin she’s the real doctor”

“Isn’t anyone going to thank me?” Anna asked receiving a chuckle from Mike.

“You have an amazing will to live, Anna. You make us all look good” Monica said and turned to look at Mike, “Make sure she gets lots of water --” Anna moaned as she felt some pain, “How’s the pain?” Monica asked her.

“Hmm, it’s there” she said moving a little to get more comfortable.

“All right that’s a good sign”

“Yeah, just means your system isn’t shutting down” Mike said.

“I’m glad you’re all so thrilled” she said still feeling a little pain.

“We’re going to get you to the hospital with real pain meds as soon as we can” Monica said.

“Got any of that vodka handy?”

“Now I know she’s getting better”

“I just had a C-section in a cave without any anesthetic. I think I can have a drink”

“I think so too” Mike said.

Monica got up and walked over to Mike, “Mike, get her anything she wants. I’m going to go check on Patrick and Talinda, ok?” she said and then walked off the train.

“Ok” he watched her walk away. He then turned and looked at Anna slowly walking towards her, “We did it”

“What do you mean ‘we’?” she asked as he kneeled down next to her.

“Well, you survived, you know. Our daughter’s safe and soon we’re all going to be home, like a real family”

“It’s ok, you know -- you don’t have to humor me”

******

Outside of the train, Rob had help Talinda get up and move closer to the train track. Once she was near the train tracks she sat leaning on her left side grabbing her side in pain and coughed. Monica came running off the train and over to Patrick who was still struggling to get up, “Patrick!” she said stopping him.

“I have to find Sam. She saved me, she kept me from drowning”

“Sam’s at Rose Lawn”

“No, she’s here. I saw her. I don’t know why she took off, but she trusts me, she's going to let me help her” he said standing up even more.

“Patrick, you’re the one who needs help!”

“Chester and Robin went to get the medicine you need” Talinda said to him still holding her side

“Chester doesn’t know that Sam’s down here. He’d want me --” Patrick couldn’t finished what he was saying as something was knocked over and all four of them looked to their left and the man that was shot in the shoulder coming over.

“What happen?” Monica asked as the man sat down in the same spot Anna was in before she was moved to the train.

“A man -- with a gun is holding some people hostage” he said as Monica and Patrick slowly walked up to him. Monica knelt down as Patrick stood up.

“Where are they?” Patrick asked.

“Back at the commuter train”

Monica didn’t get a chance to stop Patrick as he walked off towards the commuter train.

******

At Rose Lawn, Sam got up and walked over to the window, “I’m just -- I’m afraid that I’m going to go back into that dream world”

Her father got up and walked up to her, “There are doctor’s here to help you, and they will stop that from happening”

“They didn’t before, you know” she said turning to face him, “They didn’t. I didn’t want to be here. And I knew I had to come here because I attack Talinda and I was totally out of control, but I hated it here. It was easier to go in my head than to pretend that a doll was Draven, because he loved me and I loved him, but I -- I know it wasn’t real”

“That means you can tell the difference”

“Sometimes, you know, it’s like falling out of an airplane, and you’re falling and maybe you have a parachute and maybe you don’t, and maybe you don’t even want to stop”

“Why?” her father asked.

Sam walked forward, “You know when Chester came to visit and when Mike stopped by, I wanted to ask for help, but I just -- I couldn’t. They were too far away.”

“But you were able to escape before. Maybe that was your way of asking for help”

“That’s because Hector showed up threatening to kill the people that I loved, so I had to fight” she said turning to face her dad.

“Well, then you keep on fighting, Sam”

Continuing Chapter 25

Chester moved Jen behind him and slowly walked up to Hector.

“Oh, I’ll shoot you if you want me to” Hector said.

“Go ahead” Chester said.

“But I won’t kill you. Not until you watch these lovely women suffer”

“Like I said, you’re a coward -- running around these tunnels like -- like a rat?”

“Well, you know, you kind of made it easy for me, leaving your beautiful fiancé Sam all alone at Rose Lawn. You know, she's quite a fighter, that one. If she hadn’t gotten away from me, none of this would of happen”

“I'm not surprise Sam got away from you, because even a woman in her state of mind can see now weak you are. You don’t have the courage to shoot me”

“Oh. You want me to shoot someone? No problem” he said and held the gun out.

Patrick was walking down the tunnel as he heard a gunshot go off and stopped walking.

******

“It’s okay, you know. I mean if you want to see the guys it’s okay” Anna said to Mike wanting him for just a minute or a few to stop worrying about her.

“Where that come from?” he asked surprised that she wanted him to leave her, even after she nearly died.

“I figured that you may be worried about them”

“I’m worried about you. Ok, you nearly died, but you didn’t. You just gave birth to a beautiful, beautiful baby girl. I mean, I was here, you were here. Anna, you’re an amazing mother. I mean, you even know your child is alright”

“Emotional utterance”

“Excuse me?” Mike said not knowing what she meant by that.

“The promise that you made -- they won’t hold up in court”

“We’re not in court, Anna, ok?”

“And so I won’t hold you to them --” she said as Mike kept talking.

“We’re in the bottom of a train tunnel in Los Angeles”

“I’m just telling you that I won’t hold you to them”

“It’s ok. I meant every word”

“You thought I was dying”

“I think it still counts”

“How about we negotiate this after we get out of here?”

“Ok. You know, an hour ago, the two of us promised to spend the rest of are lifes together, and now you want to pretend that you don’t want to?”

“You were promising, I was dying. Anyways, I think you were the reason I got on this train in the first place”

“No, you decided to leave town even though it was close to your due date”

“Well, you’re the reason I couldn’t take a plane”

“And you couldn’t take a plane because you were pregnant”

“I rest my case”

“I’m going to get you some water” he said getting up.

“I’d really prefer some vodka”

Mike just looked at her, “Hopefully, you change your mind by the time I get back” he said and stood up walking out of the train.

******

In the triage area, the doctor had Linsey lay down on the stretcher getting her ready to be transported to the hospital.

“The calmer you are, the better it will be for you, ok?” the doctor said putting a blanket on her as she was still in pain.

“Yeah, well, I’m trying, but at the moment it’s difficult. Ow” she said as she lay down completely.

The detective walked up to them, “All right, we got room on the chopper for the baby, Linsey, and one more person”

“I’m fine. You -- you go. I have to wait for Monica” Brad said as he coughed wanting to get into the tunnel again.

“You don’t sound fine” the doctor said.

“I’m fine”

“Are you going or not?” the detective asked Phoenix.

“Listen, take care of yourself and Jennifer, ok?” Brad said after he had coughed again.

“I will” Linsey said.

“All right, come on, let’s go” the detective said.

The medical personal’s started to push the stretcher that Linsey was on towards the chopper as Phoenix went with her and Brad stayed behind with the doctor watching Linsey and Phoenix.

“Do you need some oxygen?’ another medical person asked offering oxygen to Brad seeing if he needed it.

“No, I’m fine” he said still watching Linsey and Phoenix. The medical personal walked away offering it to other people.

“You need to take that oxygen. The air quality in that tunnel is probably poor and getting worse” the doctor said to him as another victim for the tunnel was wheeled up to where Linsey used to be at.

Brad turned to look at her, “Listen, I don’t have time, ok? I need to get back down there” he started to walk off.

After making sure Linsey, Phoenix and baby Jennifer were on the chopper the detective walked back to the triage area. The commissioner saw him and walked up to him, “Hey, I’m going back down there” the detective said.

“Find my daughter. She’s probably with the rest of the people inside. Just get her out” The commissioner said.

“That’s the plan” the detective then walked off.

“Wait a minute, where do you think you're going?” the commissioner asked Brad as he was going to walk by the commissioner and stopped him.

I have made a banner to this story if you would like to see it say in the review.

Another note, Rav don't think I forgot to put you in again. I've wanted to focus on everyone that still in the tunnel as something is going to change things around. I'm working on puting you back in soon, so don't give up in thinking your not coming back. You will and will help someone through a really hard time, who it is I won't tell, hehe.

Yes the story is soon to be coming to the an end, I don't know how many more chapters there are still left. After this I will have a new story up so there won't to big of wait for the next one.

*hugs to everyone who's reading this*

Another note, Rav don't think I forgot to put you in again. I've wanted to focus on everyone that still in the tunnel as something is going to change things around. Honestly I don't mind. I never want you to feel you have to do anything and sacrifice the integrity of your story just to satisfy the whims of your audience... unless you're willing to I guess. Regardless I just have to say that I love the story anyway with or without seeing my name in it. This whole concept of helping someone through tough times brings a smile to my face... just remember one thing - be true to the story. Don't throw a comedic character in the mix if the scene doesn't call for it. What I mean by that is don't throw COB Rav in there and expect to pull off a dramatic storyline, won't go. Unless you're like really clever. You probably are but still... let the story write itself and don't force it into places it won't go. All I'll say on the matter - other than of course; thanks for the inclusion! Yay!
On to the review part now, as always.

Well, to be honest I cracked up laughing so much in those updates that there's just too many to quote directly. The cantor between Mike and Anna is just amazing, I can actually feel the chemistry between them, it's very believable. If this were a telemovie (as I see it play out in my head, it is) I'd be reaching for the tissues. Her whole 'I just had a C-section in a tunnel without anaesthesic. I think I can have a vodka' line cracked me up hardcore. What a strong woman. I wanna be like her; look adversity in the face and still smile through it. Yeah. And having Mike Shinoda at your side declaring his undying love for you would not be such a bad idea either XD

*swoons and fans self*

Anyway, yeah, back to your story. Going along great. Funnily enough when this first started I actually didn't warm to Sam as a character, but now I genuinely empathise with her pain. Poor gal. I'm glad that at least half the band is out now and relatively safe but still, knowing that time is essentially running out for those left down there makes it that much more... intense, for want of a better word. Well I love it anyway... I just need closure on every update, you always leave me hanging... and I love it! *wink*

As for starting another you know I'd be more than happy to read it. I'm a fan now, like it or not. Do what you please, you know I'll be here. I always come back... kinda like a bad smell or something XD

Well take care, thanks again and as usual can't wait for more.

*hugs*

Inside the tunnel, at the antique train, Mike walked out of the train and saw that Talinda, Rob, and Monica who was helping the man with the gun wound. He then walked over to Rob and Talinda and sat down beside them.

“How are you doing?” Talinda asked him.

“Oh, you know --” he started saying as he reached behind him and grabbed a water bottle, “Anna is threatening to leave me” he said.

“Wait, I thought you guys had already worked out your differences?” Rob asked him.

“That means she’s getting better” Talinda added.

Mike chuckled a little, “Yeah. I swear, I feel like I got an emotional whiplash. I mean one second I’m -- I’m devastated thinking I’m going to lose her, and then the next minute I feel like I could wring her neck. She claims that all the promises that we made to each other about us and raising Jennifer in a two-parent household are just null and void”

“Well, can’t you see that Anna is terrified?” Talinda said.

“Of what, Talinda? Look what she just survived”

“She scared to death, Mike, because having this child with you means so much to her” Talinda said knowing what Anna was feeling as she felt the same way with her son, Matthew, even though his real father wasn’t here. Having her son meant so much to her too as he was the only thing left of her first husband.

All Mike did was look at them.

******

“So do you think if I get better, that I’ll magically turn into what you’ve always wanted me to be?” Sam asked her father.

“I’m trying to help you” he said.

“Then be honest with me. Come on. You were never happy with us, ok? I knew you were trying, but we weren’t what you really wanted. I wasn’t good enough”

“That's not true”

Sam just looked at him debating if she should tell him what really caused her to be put in Rose Lawn, “Do you know the real reason why I’m here? Do you know what happen to me when I was young?”

“Yes, your best friend died. I’m sure that’s not what really put you in here. Maybe it was Chester, maybe you realized that Chester really doesn’t love you”

“How dare you say that about him! Maybe if you had paid more attention to me...you -- you would of know what had happen”

“I couldn’t see what was really going on with you. Maybe, I just didn’t want to know that my daughter was raped by her best friend’s father”

“What? How did you know?” she asked softly.

“Your mother told me after you were first put in here six months ago”

“Then why didn’t you come and see me earlier?”

“Because I wanted to look for Robert and make him pay for what he did to you, but then I found out that he’s been dead for seven years. Why didn’t you tell us when it first happen? And how did you forget about it for twelve years?”

“I was scared. I thought you and mom would hate me because of it. I had forgotten about it because I was grieving for my best friend and then you and mom got a divorce. I wanted to find someone that I could take care of and that I wouldn’t have to worry about my problems. When I met Chester, oh did I get my wish, and I just moved on with my life. By that time I had completely forgotten what had happen to me.”

******

Back at the tunnels, Chester looked at Hector, then at the girls seeing that he missed them, “You can’t even shoot straight” he said to him.

Hector just smiled.

“Maybe he missed on purpose, maybe he wanted to scare us. What do you think -- you want us to cry, you want us to beg, you know, grovel for our life?” Jen asked. Robin who was standing next to Jen looked scared, perhaps they all were but they just didn’t want to show it.

“It isn’t working what you’re doing here, Hector. Why don’t you give up?” Chester asked.

“You think small, Chester. You always have”

“I am not afraid of you. I never will” Jen said.

“Well, that’s unfortunate, sweetness, because a little bit of fear --” he held up his hand slightly having his index and thumb finger closely and then he put his hand down, “That’s a good thing” he then held out the gun at her. Hector laughed a little, “Oh no” he said and then pointed the gun at Robin. Chester looked at her with wide eyes knowing he was really going to shoot her. It was too late to do anything as the trigger was pulled.

******

“People are still trapped down in that tunnel, commissioner, including my wife. I’m going down there weather you like it or not” Brad said to the commissioner. All he wanted to do was get down there instead of arguing with the commissioner.

“You are dead on your feet. You’ll collapse and my people will waste time trying to get you out”

Brad coughed before he started to yell, “People are dying, people I care about!”

“You think you’re the only one? My daughter is still trapped down there, Brad!”

“Well, why don’t you go down there and get her”

“Because they know what they’re doing, alright? They’re my daughter’s best chance of getting out instead of some civilian getting in the way, distracting --”

“Are you telling me that you don’t need some volunteers, commissioner? Come on look around you, alright”

“Hey, hey, you guys need to step back for a minute” the doctor said coming up to them wanting to break this argument up.

“Brad, I need volunteers above ground, not getting lost in those tunnels!”

“But I know my way around those tunnels, commissioner. I can lead in the rescue team”

“You can’t lead anyone in the condition you’re in. Leave the rescue to the professionals”

“Listen to this --” Brad started walking off but the commissioner stopped him turning him back to face him.

“I don’t have time to waste debating with you. If you don’t want to go to the hospital for help, stay out of the way. If you try going back in the tunnel, I’ll have you arrested”

Inside the tunnel, Monica finished helping the man with the gun wound, “This should help you till help arrives” she said finishing taping his shoulder.

“Thanks, doc”

“Oh, I’m just in med school”

“Hmm. You did a great job”

“The real doctor's going to be here soon” Monica said.

Mike was still sitting out with Talinda, Rob, Monica, and the gun wounded man. He had moved to give Talinda and Rob some room, not wanting to dump everything on them.

“I love you, Rob, so much”

“I know you do honey. I do to, I always will. I’m sorry for getting mad at you earlier”

“Don’t be…” Talinda said and then paused, “I wish we met at a different time” she said. She had said that because she knew she was dying, she just wanted more time with Rob, she wanted to be married to him more than just the 48 hours that they had together as husband and wife. If she died there marriage would be consider like it never happen.

“Why would you say that?” he asked her a little shocked at what she said.

“I just want to be married to you longer than these 48 hours that we have been husband and wife"

“Talinda, will still be married after we get out of this tunnel”

“I know we will” she lied, “I just wish we had gotten together when I worked on Chester's custody case. Then Sam would have never hated me, but then I guess my secret would have never been told”

“I kind of wish that to, but I was just at the end of my relationship with Vanessa, again” he said and Talinda laughed a little, but then it turned into a cough.

“I guess that I wasn’t really ready for a steady relationship when I moved down here. I was with Chester just to fill the hole in my heart over Matthew’s death, but the greatest thing out of his death was our son, who I named him after. I wish that we could have had our own child…I want you to take care of Matthew for me” she said almost starting to cry.

“Talinda? Baby why are you talking like you’re going to die? You’re not, ok” Rob said and reached out touching her hands and felt that they were cold, “Your hands are freezing”

“Yeah” she said softly almost crying as she looked down at her hands.

“Here” Rob said grabbing a blanket, “Put this on, okay?” he said opening it up half way and putting in around her, “There you go” he said when he was done, “Try and keep it on. I’ll go and look for another blanket, ok? You stay here” he said putting his hand on the side of her face and gave her a light kiss, not knowing that it would be the last.

Once Rob got up and walked away a little she felt like she had to cough and started to cough bringing her right arm up to her face almost coughing to the point where she coughed up blood again.

“Monica, I’m going to go back to Anna, ok?” Mike said having enough time to think through what Anna has said. He wasn’t going to give her up and was determine to fight for her heart again.

“All right” Monica said and Mike walked back onto the train and stood at the door for a few seconds as Anna looked up to see him as she was trying to get comfortable again.

“Anna? Got the water” he said as he walked into the room further.

“I don’t see any vodka with you” she said as Mike kneeled beside her and started to taking the cap off.

“No, just the water” he took the cap all the way off, “You need more fluids, ok?”

“Mm-hmm”

“Take a sip” he held out the water bottle putting it to her lips as Anna grabbed it with her right hand to hold it. When she had enough water in her mouth she put both of her hands up to tell Mike she was finished, “All right?” he said and took it away as she swallowed the water. Once he put the cap back on she looked at him, “Sorry I was gone so long. I was talking to Rob and Talinda. They both had some important things to say, well mostly Talinda did” he said as he sat down all the way.

“I’m sure they, she did, your very close to Rob. I’m not mad at you for wanting to tell Rob about us, feel free to do so more if you need to”

“You wanna know what Talinda said that piqued my interested the most?”

“I’m a captive audience” Anna said taking a guess.

“She said that you’re scared to death and that having Jennifer with me means so much to you that you do need me” he said adding the last part. Anna didn’t say anything.

At Community and Mission Hospital, Linsey was wheeled off the elevator and on to the fourth floor holding baby Jennifer as her ob/gyn Dr. Bergstrom and Phoenix came off behind her.

“Thanks for meeting us at the helipad” Phoenix said.

“Well, ER is jammed, so I’m going to take you straight to an exam room -- soon as the neonatal team comes and picks up Anna’s baby” Dr. Bergstrom said and then looked at the nurses station seeing Ravyn walking up to the station.

“Oh, a baby” she said when she saw Linsey holding Jennifer. When she looked at Phoenix she had to contain herself from wanting to scream in excitement.

“Yes, were waiting for the neonatal team”

“What about the mother?” she asked

“There waiting for her to come in”

“She's doing great” Linsey said about the baby.

“Things are awfully crazy downstairs. Why don’t I take her?” Rav said as Jennifer began to fuss.

“Oh, that would be great. Thanks, Ravyn. Take her straight to pediatrics”

“I will” she said and step closer to Linsey.

“Her names Jennifer” Linsey said softly handing the baby to Ravyn.

“Oh, Jennifer. Hey, Jennifer! I got her, yeah” Rav said as she got the baby n her arms.

“All right” Linsey said.

“I’ll take that too” Rav said as Phoenix handed the bottle to her that was given to them when they first got here, “Thank you” she said and turned around, “Oh, look at you, little girl” she said calming Jennifer down from fussing.

As Rav walked off Phoenix looked down at Linsey as she smiled at him.

Awww... that's so sweet... but OMFG!

"You stay here” he said putting his hand on the side of her face and gave her a light kiss, not knowing that it would be the last.
But what the ****?!? You can't be serious! I'm like... *jaw drops open*

*stunned silence*

But like, whoa, intense. Brad's confrontation with the commissioner was intense too. I can relate to both sides of their argument. At least baby Jennifer is safe. Mike and Anna still crack me up. But poor Rob... oh, and poor Sam too, poor Robin, in fact, *** **** it, I'm like feeling bad for everyone here. Is there no light at the end of the proverbial tunnel for anyone???

*snuffle*

But yeah - love it, as always. And as for the banner...

Very sweet.

Chapter 27

I'm so sorry about the long wait. I've been busy writing two research paper for school. But I've finished them so I'll be posting some more, hopefully. If not, school is ending soon, and I'll then have more time to update.

“I’m amazed at how you forgot for twelve years. And I’m also sorry that you couldn’t confine in me and your mother. I’m sorry I couldn’t see your pain” Sam’s father said as he walked a little bit to go behind the chair.

“It’s not your fault dad, its Robert’s fault. When I remembered again I was completely out of control”

“Yeah” her father said softly.

“But at that time, I thought I knew what I wanted, you know?”

“That’s why you need to be here, so you can sort it all out. I have no doubt that you’re going to recover Sam. You’re already on your way”

“Well, I’m always good in a crunch. Whenever I’m threatened, back into a corner, I will survive. You know, I will” she said as her father came to stand in front of her.

“Exactly. That’s why I know you will get well, and you will get your life back”

“What if I can’t handle the day-to-day? What if I start to drift away again? What if I lose myself? What if I’m only sane in a crisis?”

Back in the tunnel after Hector shot the gun, Chester grabbed Hector’s arm. The both of them started to fight.

“Chester?” Jen called out. She watched Hector grabbed Chester and push him to the floor. Jen reach down and picked up a piece of pipe. Hector quickly dropped the backpack and pointed the gun at her, “Drop it, drop it, drop it!” he said and Jen let go of the pipe. Hector then pointed the gun at Chester, who was still lying on the floor on his back, “Afraid of me now, Chester?"

“You two get out of here” Chester said to Jen and Robin. The both of them were too afraid, thinking that if they did Hector would shoot again.

“See, my face is going to be the last thing you see before you died” Without warning Hector was pulled back by Patrick and Hector let out a yelp as Patrick stab him.

When Patrick let go of Hector, he fell to the ground with the knife in his back, Chester, Jen, and Robin all looked over at Patrick. Then Patrick offered a hand out to help Chester up as Jen walked up to Hector and picked up his gun and held it over him in case he woke up.

“I got it. Oh” Chester said as Patrick helped him, “Robin, you ok?” he asked when he saw her tie a bandana around the arm Hector shot.

“I think it just a graze” she said.

“How’d you know to come here?” Chester asked.

“A man showed up at the commuter train and told us that you guys were being held at gun point. Let me help you with that” he said and walked up to Robin.

“No, no, no, no, don’t. We got your medicine, Patrick. You have to take it right now” Robin said as she kept tying.

“No, no there isn’t time” Patrick said.

“You can’t risk another seizure”

“Patrick --” Chester said and Patrick got up and walked back over to him, “You need to take the medicine, get the women back to Monica. I’m going to stay here and see if he can tell me where Sam is. I will kill him and then will figure it out, we’ll try to find Sam”

“What do you mean? You didn’t believe me about Sam before. Did you see her?”

Chester reached into his pocket and pulled out Sam’s bracelet, “Here. I found this on the train. This is -- I gave her this when I took her to Rose Lawn” he said and handed it to Patrick for him to look at.

“Yeah” he said to himself after looking at the bracelet.

“She might be here. I need you close by, because she hid from me, and I know that she’ll trust you. You know what I’m saying?”

“Yeah, yeah, ok”

“Patrick get that bottle and syringe” Robin said pointing her foot to where it was on the ground, “Its right there. Pick it up” Patrick walked over to her and pick up the bottle, “It’s not a cure, but it could prevent a seizure. You have to inject yourself”

“No, no, no, no. Here --” Jen said taking the bottle and syringe from Patrick and handed the gun to him who put it in his back pocket.

Robin stood up holding her arm, “Have you done this before?” she asked Jen.

“Yeah, my brother” Jen said preparing the syringe.

“Ok” Robin said and Patrick took off his jacket and pushed up his short sleeve tee higher, “Yeah, yeah. That looks good” she said when Jen was finished, “All right, just make it quick”

“You ready?” Jen asked him.

“Yeah, okay. I’m not afraid of need --” he stopped when Jen stabbed the syringe in his shoulder, “Needles”

“There you go” Jen said when she was finished and gentlely took the needle out.

“All right” he said and put his sleeve down.

“Ok?” Jen asked.

“Yeah”

“Ok” Robin said as Patrick reached for his jacket that was on the ground, “Let’s get you out of here” she said and turned around.

“Robin, Robin?” Chester said stepping in front of her.

“Yeah?”

“I need you to do me a favor, all right? I don’t want anyone to know Sam might be here”

“Why?”

“I don’t want it leaked out that Sam was on the train. If they find out that she escape Rose Lawn, they may have her transfer her to Benjamin Rush were I may never see her again -- I can’t let that happen. Can you do that for me?” Chester said.

Robin didn’t get a chance to respond as the sound of something being knocked over was heard.

“Hey!” Jen shouted and ran down to the end of the train where she met up with a couple fire fighters. Chester turned around to see the fire fighters as they walked over to them and started to help Hector. Chester then turned around and looked at Robin.

Attached to the wall, not far in front of them was one of the many bombs Hector plant throughout the tunnel.

Back at the hospital, Dr. Bergstrom walked into Linsey’s room holding the test results from the tests she did on Linsey. When she walked in Linsey and Phoenix looked at her.

“Is everything okay?” Phoenix asked.

“I got the test results back. There some good news that was found through the blood test we did. Congratulations Linsey your pregnant”

Linsey was shocked by the news as was Phoenix, “Pre -- pregnant”

“I take this isn’t good news then?” the doctor asked.

“No, it’s wonderful news. I’m just surprise. I had no idea that I was pregnant”

“But what about Linsey’s cramping? Is something wrong with the baby as the result from the cramping?” Phoenix said still shocked by the news but really happy that they were finally going to have a family.

“Well, we got Linsey started on the I.V. fluids just in time. I don’t see any bleeding, so will consider this touch-and-go for now”

“It’s good news, right?”

“Well, it is if you stay calm and stay in bed and rest. Void any stress that you can”

“I’ll make sure she does”

“The next 24 hours are critical”

“Ok, I understand” Linsey said and the doctor turned around and walked out of the room.

“You can rest now” Phoenix said to Linsey

“Don’t worry I’m not budging out of this spot” she said as Phoenix sat on the side of her bed.

“Were finally having that family that we always wanted” he said and Linsey smiled at him.

Continuing Chapter 27

“Talinda is a big fat liar” Anna said.

“Oh, so you’re admitting it? Look, Anna, why don’t you just say you still love me. I know that you do, you can’t hide it”

“I’m not hiding it. I don’t love you”

“No, you still do, babe”

“I don’t and stop badgering your wife about it”

“Oh, look, did you just hear that. Let the record show that Miss Anna Lovejoy had admitted to being my wife, and it follows after she admitted to not loving me as she wanted to leave her husband -- whom she loves and needs”

“Mike, stop your being ridiculous”

“It also follows that Miss Lovejoy was referring to me, her husband, whom she said she loves and needs --” Mike said being cut off by Anna. He was doing this to get under her skin and make her finally admit it, that she really needs him.

“Alright, alright, this is ridiculous”

“And who loves her, however flawed and imperfect I might be”

“Ridiculous”

“You always say that when you’re losing”

“I’m not losing because there’s nothing to admit”

“Anna, the truth is the truth, regardless of any physical search”

“You wouldn’t know the truth if it jumped out and bit you”

“Well -- you do, don’t you? Why don’t you just admit it? You want me back”

Anna still wouldn't say it and continued looking at him.

In the triage area, the commissioner was busy looking at a map and didn’t notice Brad as he slowly walked towards a fireman’s jacket. He picked it up and slowly put it on as he looked around to see if anyone saw him. No one was looking and he slowly walked to the tunnel with his head slightly down so no one could see his face.

******

Inside the tunnel, where Monica, Talinda, Rob and the gun wounded man were at, Monica got up from being with the wounded man and walked over to Talinda and Rob.

“Um, Rob I need to check on Talinda, can you give us a minute?” Monica asked Rob who had been back for awhile.

“Yeah, yeah. Sure” he said and got up and Monica sat in his spot.

“Talinda, your breathing doesn’t sound any better” she said hearing Talinda wheezing really bad and wrapped the second blanket Rob brought back around her.

“The pain’s pretty constant now”

“Well, you probably got a cracked rib. All right. I don’t want you running around any more. All right, you stay as still as you can. No deep breaths”

“Yes, doctor”

“Don’t even joke about that. These rescue teams will be here any minute. All right? You should be okay until then” Monica said and covered Talinda up in the blanket all the way. She then got up and walked over to Rob. Talinda closed her eyes to stop herself from wanting to cry from the pain she was in.

“You don’t need a stretcher for that piece of trash” Chester said to the medical people who had put Hector on a stretcher.

Hector, now wake turned his head to look at Chester as the medical person stopped him from turning completely around, “These -- these people -- they tried to kill me”

“Listen, I’m Commissioner Pacheco’s daughter. This man is a wanted fugitive. He’s the man that shot Robin” Jen said as Robin was being check by a medical person.

“Chester?” Patrick called him and Chester walked over to him.

“All right, so what now?” Jen asked as the three of them got close so the rescue team couldn’t hear them.

“Ok, listen to me. You should go with them. Chester and I can go and find Sam”

“What if you have another seizure?” she asked Patrick.

“Well, I’m hoping this medicine will work”

“I am not leaving you”

“What about your father? He’ll be worry about you”

“I don’t care about my dad. He never cares about me anyways. I’m still not leaving you”

“She's right -- listen, listen. We have to stay together. I want Sam to see you first. She needs someone she can deal with, someone she can trust”

******

“Chester, he tried to help me --” Sam said sitting down on her chair moving a small pillow onto her lap, “You know, I stayed at our house during my breakdown”

Her father sat down at the end of her bed, “You needed medical attention”

“Yea, yea, I was sicker than both of us realized. I conjured up faith and scared my boy, and I tried to kill Talinda who was pregnant at the time”

“But Chester didn’t get the help you needed Sam”

“It wasn’t Chester’s fault, you know”

“This goes way back, Sam. Chester under minded your confidence a long time ago, your belief in yourself, your perception of the world. I know that you love him, and maybe this second time will work out better. All I want is for you to be happy. You’re going to get well. I promise” he said and stood up, walking up to her kissing the top of her head and walked over to the door.

“You really believe in me” Sam said and her father stopped from opening the door and turned to look at her.

“I always have” he said and then opened the door walking out of her room as she watched him go.

That's sweet... Sam and her dad reaching a kind of understanding like that at such a difficult time. As for Hector - he needs to die (but that's besides the point! XD ) and the bomb!!! OMG!!! Makes me just wanna scream at the computer screen as I read this and tell them all to watch out!

*gasp*

But that's good news for Phoenix and Lindsay. I suspected as much. Babies are good in that they symbolize new beginnings... and maybe the end of others. That, and the fact even in this day and age with all the moden contraceptives and so forth we still manage as a race to overpopulate the planet at an alarming rate... and it's usually when you don't plan for it that it happens... jeez.

But yay for them anyway. Cuteness to the extreme.

Mike and Anna's confab made me smile - they sound like a married couple, forever ********... even when there's no real need for it. Fools.

Talinda has me worried... surprisingly enough. 0_0

But Brad sneaking down incognito back with the others in the fireman's jacket made me smile... that was cool. Go Big Bad.

Anyways, overall great.

I know you're a busy gal but y'all know whenever you find the time to update I'll always read and review. Love your work. Very... daytime TV/soap-opera-ish in a good way I mean that!

*hugs*

Look forward to more.

Chapter 28

Thank Rav, just for you heres more.

Brad walked into the tunnel and saw about a couple fire fighters digging, “No, no, it’s block on the other side, you can’t get through there. It’s more down here”

“You hear that, guys? Were moving out” one of the fire fighters said.

Brad then turned and walked further into the tunnel as he saw the detective. He stopped walking as the detective reached him, “Listen, I’m going to find my wife. Don’t try and stop me” Brad said to the detective.

“The commissioner said to leave the rescue to the professionals. You’re on the list so what the **** are you standing around for?” he said and handed Brad a tool he was carrying.

“Thanks” Brad said and took the tool and started walking further more into the tunnel.

******

At the antique train, Chester, Patrick, and Jen made it back to the rest of the group. Monica looked up and saw them walking back in as she was bandaging the gun wounded man’s arm even more, “Thank *** you’re all right. Where’s Robin?” she asked when she didn’t see her.

“A rescue team is with her right now. Hector shot her. It doesn’t look so bad though” Jen said.

“Is Hector still loose?” Monica asked.

“He’s badly injured. I don’t think he’s going to live. They’re sending a rescue team to get us out of here. How’s Anna?” Chester said/asked

“Better. It’s kind of amazing” Behind them Talinda was a expensing even more pain.

“What about Sam?”

“Do you really think she’s down here?”

“I -- I found her bracelet”

“I saw a woman climbing the access ladder when that psycho shot me” The gun wounded man said.

“We got to keep looking for her” Patrick said.

“No -- Hey, Patrick I could use a hand here, all right, especially if the rescue team is about to show up. I need to get him and Anna ready to move out” Monica said. Talinda was hiding the pain she was in from Rob.

Chester turned to look at her and Rob and then back at Monica, “What about Talinda?” he asked.

“She cracked a rib, I think. Can -- just go check on her” Monica said feeling stressed out.

“Yeah, I will” Chester said.

“Ok, look, we -- we’re going to keep looking for Sam, ok? Let’s go” Patrick said taking Jen with him as they started walking away.

Chester turned around and walked to Talinda and Rob, “Hey Rob, how you doing?”

“Ok, can’t wait to get out of here”

“Yea. Is it okay if I talk to Talinda?” he asked.

“Sure” Rob then got up and walking over to Monica.

Chester then sat in Rob’s spot, “Hey. How are you doing?”

“Better, now that you’re here”

******

Inside the train Anna grabbed Mike’s hand and squeezed it as she was feeling pain from the incision, “Oh -- ow!”

“Are you all right?”

“Ow, oh!” she cried out moving around.

“Ok, ok” he said making her stay still.

“Oh, I don’t suppose they give epidurals for after the baby’s born”

“The pains getting worse?”

“Oh, it’s not getting any better”

“All right, well --”

“I don’t know how much more I can’t take of this. Oh” she said turning back to how she was and closed her eyes.

“Well, don’t worry. I’ll be able to take care of our daughter. Jennifer will get the best of everything -- you know, all the clothes she wants --” he said as Anna slowly opened her eyes, “and dance lessons, summer camps, and, you know, I’m not going to ride her to hard about school cause I don’t want her to have her nose in the book all the time, you know” he said and Anna lifted her head up to look at him.

“Books are good for children”

“Oh, I know they are, but, you know, I want her to have a social life, she gets her car as soon as she's old enough to drive, and as soon as she can sign her name she can get a credit card”

“What?”

“Anna, I’m going to raise our daughter the right way, really. Don’t worry about the whole dating-at-thirty-thing, I’m completely fine, and I think it’s reasonable to have her date at 13”

“Huh?”

“Really don’t you think? I’m going to make sure our daughter follows her dream and believes in herself. So if she wants to skip college and you know, be a model, that be fine”

“Are you delighting in torturing me?”

“Oh -- you seem to be rallying”

“Oh, I’m going to live. I’m going to live to see her go to a city college at least and state to, I won’t force her to follow in your foot step and go to Pasadena”

“Oh? Really. What’s the point?”

“The point is you’re badgering me because you want me to admit to you that I love you and that I want you and that I want us to try again”

For a few seconds they stared at each other, “Do you?” Mike asked her.
