Thanks. Made me blush. But humbly appreciatedit'd be a lot worse without you here, but i totally understand why you would leave. If change is as good as a holiday, then change is awesome lol, so we'll see. But i'm not going to give up on this place. I'll try to revive it. I'll do what ever it takes.
Writing competitions. It wont draw members but it will be fun for members who love to write.
So many ideas lol.
1) it makes sense, and its pretty coolOkay call me weird but I thought of this when I fell back asleep a couple of hours ago.
I was thinking about something I think it was Fribby that wrote it but how need a better voting system, why don't we start doing something about the LPF awards instead of keeping it to this thread? Like someone get permission off a mod or tell Azem or someone or maybe even Dave (Unhingedmouse) to start creating seperate topic threads....like for an example, grab the most replied to threads in the writers corner (what i remember there's only 3 major stories going right now, Meaghen's, Rach's and Mine). So in that case, I'm so sorry if I don't make any sense, I just woke up from a 15 hour sleep and listening to some **** house music, but because there's only 3, we make a semi final, and then final round of the story battles, with a rule that the poll remains private and if you want to vote in further polls you have to vote in all rounds in all topics. Because I remember the last time the awards were on, you had vote for every catagory for your vote to count.
Internet bands do not work. Trust me. My second-last band "The Nevermores" was purely internet based and so it expensive for me to continue recording. And, there are so many issues facing net bands, like originality of the music and the lyrics, the time that each member has to put into it online and offline is incredibly stupid let alone the reliability for everyone to make it online in time zones of the world.
But check out LPA's new site. It has games on it! It has the friends feature on the profiles! (If you see December's Shadow on it, don't forget to say hi to me!) I think LPF needs an upgrade in not only the way its presented to the members and the public but it needs an upgrade in its attitude and spirit.
You know what, couldn't have put it better myself - but we have only been saying this now for a while and we're a lot like the lower houses of Parliament; ie All talk, no action.I think LPF needs an upgrade in not only the way its presented to the members and the public but it needs an upgrade in its attitude and spirit.
You've actually pointed some really good points there woman. You know what, couldn't have put it better myself - but we have only been saying this now for a while and we're a lot like the lower houses of Parliament; ie All talk, no action.
As for competing in the writers thread I would love to but I'm not sure even that is a viable solution. As you and I Sarah are the only two really posting daily practically we kind of have that one in the bag. I'm not sure a competition on this level is even viable. Last time I actually had people saying to me on MSN they didn't want to compete with me. It wasn't said in spite but they felt... inadequate maybe? I don't know. Not blowing my own horn, I really couldn't give a **** on why or why not, point is and it's really the bottom line - running a competition or starting a band or whatever won't change what we already have - if no one's willing to contribute anything as it is
.
We need decisive steps.
1) Facelift. This site needs a visual overhaul. Yes that includes banners for those that want more variety. That gives those in the art department reason to get involved.
2) Cyphon out non-contributing members. Those that sign up and never come back, get rid of. Like an email account membership should have an inactivity clause. Don't contribute even a little in a month or two or whatever bye-bye, come back again later if you really feel that way inclined.
ALSO as a side, give the long serving members a reason to remain. Not necessarily give them any greater status than just members, but have a separate area for faithful members. I don't know what would make it so appealing, but like kids being told to stay away from the cookie jar, if newer members are excluded until a certain post count they might try harder to get in. Just a thought.
3) Revamp the mods and admins. Who exactly is in charge and who's not with us anymore? Who's leaving? Who's come back? The little section on the right that tells us who's in and who's new needs more emphasis. Again I throw out that idea of evolving the disused chat to a real time chat box. That way we can see who's in and send messages straight away without searching threads. Might keep the members more inclined to stick around and chat rather than CHOKE THE THREADS WITH SPAM that no one seems to be keeping track of!
4) LPF Awards. Rather than leave this up to those dubiously in charge to agree set a date every year and stick to it. Regardless who's in charge give the site a staple of security. If people see this as a regular event you may just get regular visitors to this site - funny that. I for one would be willing to help on this regard if anyone's listening. Even if we start with mini awards to whet everyone's appetites, hold bi-annual awards, or monthly member awards, or only best member award once a year, whatever! Just do something for the love of *** and stop digressing over it.
5) ??
Come on people. Mods, PLEASE, get this out there on the front page for THE WHOLE SITE TO SEE! It's a site issue, make it so known that people get sick of hearing about it and are forced to do something about it or shut the **** up complaining, either way!
This back-and-forth attitude is really frustrating the **** out of me :shoot:

my power?Q to Jeez.
What extent is your power over lpf as a mod?
And *** **** you confused me for a second when you changed the title of this thread.
Sincerely I thank you for taking it to the general populous. I keep repeating myself in the hopes someone will listen, thank *** someone finally did.I like the suggestions you made
and the topic is up on the front page now
Yeah 4.0 is on way too longHmm as for a layout it would be cool to have the new logo font around, and I dunno but I see a brighter site, maybe like a whitish color representing the cover of Minutes to Midnight and all that.
Im no good at coming up with designs but just a thought! Bring on 5.0! haha.
what stuff do you mean?yeah and our home page needs to look more professional, atm it looks like a circus with all the colour full stuff lol
